#22 - Jordan
I pushed past the crowds of people lining the doorway and darted inside the gym. Mom followed close behind, taking her time. I dashed up the steps and hurried to find a suitable seat to watch the concert in.
Mom joined me a few minutes later, and I smiled at her warmly as a thank-you for driving me. I sat forward in my seat. The concert was about to begin.
There, standing in the second row with my other friend, Mya, next to her, was my beautiful, perfect girlfriend.
Jordan.
It had been almost a year since I'd first met her, and still the sound of her name on my lips set a fire in my stomach. She was wearing a sleek black dress that night, her hair straightened to perfection and her elegant black flats perched on her feet.
Of course, Jordan being Jordan, she didn't smile as the choir warmed up to their first song. It was my guess that she hadn't even particularly wanted to be in choir. She just did it for the sake of needing a music credit.
Jordan had shyly asked that evening if I'd come and watch her choir concert. Of course, eager to see her, I had agreed. Earlier, she sent me a picture of the simple dress that she was wearing. Thinking about it, I was still startled by how amazing she looked.
It was truly a simple dress; sleeves that fell halfway down her shoulders, and a sleek front that accentuated every bit of her beautiful body. It had taken my breath away and made an overjoyed smile come to my face when she'd shown me the dress.
The choir finished singing quickly, and I raced down the steps to find her before Mom wanted to leave.
Instead, I found Mya.
Before I knew what was happening, Mya pulled me off to the side of the traffic a little ways and began to speak rapidly.
"Jordan just told me, while the band was playing (it was a joint choir/band concert) that she thinks she's actually bisexual. She wants to keep dating you."
A few tears sprung to my eyes. I almost started crying out of utter happiness. "Thank you," I said, beaming. Mya nodded and ran off to find her boyfriend, who'd come to watch her sing.
Jordan found me quickly after that. We talked for a minute or so and I asked her about what Mya had said. Blushing, she admitted that it was true.
I couldn't have been happier than I was at that moment.
Before I had to leave, Jordan wrapped me in a hug.
All I could think in that moment, holding her in my arms, was,
I'm in love with you.
I'm so in love with you.
