The Queen

Henry's POV

How do I begin?
How do I tell you my story when I don't even know the words?
How do I end?

My eyes lay upon the beauty and then on the nightmare disguised as a dream- I had to lie once more. She hasn't changed one bit since the last time I saw her- eight years ago. She was a devil trying to eat the soul of the sun but failed- and now she'll try again. I kneeled down to her and told my lie once more: "My lady." It was bittersweet on my tongue.
"Your lady?" Layla asked and I immediately wanted to jump up and hug her- tell her that she was my lady but I couldn't.
"It's been so long since we last meet, David." Eight years to be exact. I'm face to face with the monster.
"It's has indeed." I replied back and she gave me a compassionate smile, but I know that the smile was a trap.
"Sorry to do this so suddenly but we must leave before the spell wears off and I'm exposed to the living world."
"Yes, we must." I say as I look around and that Jess and Micheal were frozen in time. For once Jess was silent and it was an enjoyable five seconds. I grabbed Layla's hand trying to reassure her and headed onto the pathway of solid sea.

"Where are you taking me," Layla questioned as she tried to get closer to the Queen but my hand stopped her, "and why are you coming along?" She was asking the same question I wanted to know the answer to.
My eyes were mainly on the Queen as I was unsure of her suddenness and why we most follow her to the past. Each step that we took I hoped more and more that Layla would not remember, though with each step I wonder why I was with Layla. The Queen had her chance but didn't take it, suspicion grow inside of me and my body prepared itself for her tricks.
"Henry is the only one who will be able to... Protect you."
"Protect me from what?"
"From them." Queen Aqua said as an opening appeared in the barrier and as she looked down I could see her face go pale. There was only three of them, out of her army, but it was still enough to frighten Layla.

"We must not let them see her or else..." I shook my head in agreement and a new blanket of water began to cover her.
I was still holding onto her hand though this time my grip was a lot stronger. I was scared and holding her hand was comforting me more than I was comforting her.
I hear her mumble said to herself and curiosity got the better of me, "Layla, did you say something?" I popped my head into her bubble and my hair became drench by the water.

Suddenly I lost my footing and we trembled down. The ocean water came hurtling down and her army of fish people started to swim towards us, aggressively. My grip on her tighten some more and my body was prepared to fight though someone was quicker. Queen Aqua formed her royal staff out of water, and told us to ran. My body reacted the same way as it did twelve years ago, I knew exactly where to go. I took her to the fisherman's ship which had a protective barrier around it and had air for us to breathe.

Her blonde hair was everywhere though I think it wasn't something she wanted to pay attention to. I could see by her eyes what questions after question was popping into her head like popcorn.
"Where are we!? What were those fish people!? Who was that lady!? Why are we here!? What's-" I leaned forward and embraced her tightly, she was scared and this was all I could think of to comfort her. As I pulled away from her I looked into her gorgeous sky blue eyes and smiled at her. She looked back at me with a relaxed smile.
"You don't need to worry about that right now. Queen Aqua will soon anwers your questions." I said brushing her wet hair out of her face once more.
"They have settled down now but it seems as if our time has come to an end. My time with the both of you has run out and I didn't even mange to answer at least one of your questions. Nor tell you why I wanted to speak with you." Queen Aqua said as she floated towards us.

I was actually thankful about our time being over especially because this was one reunion I wish neve happened. As Queen Aqua started to disappear Layla's eyes begin to close and her body became weak. Soon she was asleep my arms and Queen Aqua was out of sight.

"Why did you bring us there? You had your chance why didn't you take it?"
"We had a deal, don't you remember?" Queen Aqua said and I understood why she didn't take her chance.
"It was more of a threat than a deal as far as I remember. Her head for yours."
"The child is mine!" Queen Aqua yelled as she reappeared.
"Is that why you tried to eat her, twelve years ago?"
"It's a custom in the Under Water City." She reached out to Layla but I moved away from her grip, "You have to eat your first born child, six years after they were born, on the seashore for your second born to be a land and a water breather."
My mind was in scrambles and my heart sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Did I stop one life from being alive when I saved another. It was a concept that I did not understand and yet I ruined someone else's life. I saw myself as a hero but I might have been a villain.

"Don't worry I'll send you home but make sure to watch her. A very important day is coming around and a very interesting event will be taking place."
"Just what exactly do you mean?"
"When the moon meets the sun." Queen Aqua said as she lifted her staff up and a white light flashed. It was blinding and once it was gone Layla and I were on the beach once more.

"I really hate when she does that and what did she mean by when the moon meets the sun?"
*Cough cough* Layla started to wake up and for the first time my brain was once again worried about her.
"Henry? What happened where are we?" She asked as she snuggled close to my chest.
We were both soaking but become dry as I jumped off of the ground. We landed perfectly on the roof and my immediate thought was to get her warmed up. We may be dry but her body was still ice cold.
"Henry?" Michael asked as he walked into my room, "What happened to you guys?"
"I'll explain in a bit but right now I could use some help."
"Yes? What can I do for you?"
"Just pull back the blanket please."
Michael did what I asked with much speed and I put Layla down onto my bed. She looked so peaceful just laying there and for a moment I felt like I was reliving this day twelve years ago, she has grown up so much since then.
"Henry, what's going on..." Michael asked as Layla's hair began to turn to a lilac colour.
"Don't worry about it." I said and a part of me wanted to say more, but I know that my lips must be sealed.
