The Round Table Council

It consisted of the strongest and highest ranking hybrids and the Ancient or as he was referred to by the council, Liege

They only came together on very rare occasions, one of them being whenever there was a serious threat, and right now there was an extremely grave threat

Validus and Crystallo were standing in silence outside of a big red and black door with the emblem of the moon on it. The atmosphere between them was unpleasant and uncomfortable.

"I did the right thing and deep down you know it" Crystallo says her face still facing forward, but is met with silence

"We had to let them know Validus, she's a fairy, you confirmed it yourself" Crystallo tries again hopeful to get her brother to stop giving her the silent treatment, but to no avail.

"Don't tell me you're still upset about I and Lilliana crashing your lame attempt of an interrogation" she asks again

"It was a date" he finally says

"What?"

"It was a date, I asked her on a date, and you came and crashed it, and what's worse is that you brought Lilliana when you know we have history"

Crystallo looks at her brother baffled unable to believe what is coming out of his mouth "Is that really why you haven't spoken to me since then, because you actually asked her out on a date and I crashed it with your somewhat ex?"

"Well there's that, 'm also extremely upset you told dad and the council about it because now they'll either torture her till she decides to take her life or imprison her till she tells us where the other fairies live" he says his face stoic and void of any emotion

"That's a good thing, we'll finally get rid of those proud fuckers" Crystallo says smiling and this finally makes Validus look at her

"Your hatred for fairies is blinding you just as you claim my attraction to her is blinding me"

Crystallo frowning meets her brothers eyes and asks "What do you mean"

"Your heavy hatred for them because of mother is also not making you think straight, you want them to torture or imprison an innocent girl for something she has no idea about, you and I both know she doesn't realize she's fairy, meaning she hasn't done anything and she's lived here for years, lets face it, if you didn't meet her that night you'd never even know she existed, you're just glad you've finally found someone to transfer all the hate that mother transferred to you on, you're not doing this because of our safety, or the safety of the kingdom, you're doing it for your own personal satisfaction, because you want to see a fairy suffer just as mother suffered, and all this is because of your hate, not cause of our duty to anyone. Just your hate and now an innocent girl is going to suffer for it, so if you're expecting me to congratulate you for doing the right thing, congratulations sister"

And almost immediately the big doors open revealing a guard, bowing to them. Pulchra then appears smiling and the doors close, she goes closer to Validus before reaching out for his hands,

"The council is very upset, more of scared but they're masking it under the guise of anger, no matter what they tell you, do control yourself Validus, don't let your anger overtake you" she says softly and Crystallo, confusion written on her face asks "What do you mean by that mother"

Validus looks at his mother scanning her face then realizes

"They sent men after her didn't they" he asks sadly

Crystallo shocked looks at her brother "What do you mean they sent men after her?"

"Why don't we go find out dear sister, since you seem to believe that what you did was right"

Validus returns his face towards the door again

A few moments later an announcement is made

"Presenting His Royal Highness Crown Prince Validus and Lady Crystallo"

Eirene's POV

"Wake up little one you're going to be late for work"

I open my eyes to see my grandmother hovering over me. Her bright amber eyes looking at me intently

"Grandma, I can't be late to work if I'm the one that owns the shop" I tell her and close my eyes going back to sleep, but she smacks my shoulders hard which takes any form of sleep left out of me.

I sigh and tell her "Fine fine grandma, I'm up, you don't need to inflict bodily harm on me anymore".

She smiles and gets up from my bed. "I made your favorite breakfast, freshen up and come downstairs okay my dear" she says before walking out of my room

I groan and sit up on my bed, I take a look around my room and something feels weird. My head is throbbing like I have a hangover, but I never drink

A strong pain hits my head, pictures of a house burning flashes suddenly before my eyes and I scream in fear which brings my grandma rushing back into my room.

"Are you okay little one?" she says as she rushes to my side. "Grandma did I go out last night, my head hurts really bad and I keep seeing weird images" I tell her as she rubs my shoulders

"No, my dear I don't think so, you never leave your room unless it's work related little one"

I nod my head agreeing,

She's right, but why is my head pounding so bad, and the burning house I saw, it felt so real, like I had seen it before, could I have possibly been sleep walking and seen a house on fire, or even worse set it on fire? No way, that's ridiculous

"Are you feeling alright dear, do we need to go see a doctor?" she asks me which drags me out of my thoughts. I look at her about to respond but something feels off. She looks somewhat different.

"Have you been going to the spa Grandma; your face looks all shiny and per-fect" I ask confused and she also looks at me also confused at my question before she bursts out laughing.

"You always say funny things dear, now come, your breakfast's getting cold" she says, plants a kiss on my forehead then walks out of my room.

My unease increases as she walks out of the room, everything feels weird, it feels like I'm dreaming, an extremely perfect and shiny dream. I get out of bed and walk towards my wardrobe. I'm about to open it when I realize something.

My reflection, I couldn't see my reflection

Confused I walk back to and my suspicions are confirmed when I don't see my reflection

"What on earth is going on " I whisper

I look around my room, everything pretty much looks the same, its neat, too neat, I never leave my room as neat as it looks right now

"Maybe Grandma helped me clean it up.....but she never cleans my room" I try to tell myself convincingly

I'm getting more creeped out and my unease worsens, why does everything feel so shiny almost too perfect too be true. Reluctantly I decide to shrug it off and go down for breakfast. I walk towards the door of my room, but before I can turn the knob, a small feeling tells me to look back

I close my eyes and turn around.

But when I open my eyes I'm met with a horrifying sight. 5 bodies are scattered all around my room, my room is on fire and the perfect looking room has changed to one with ashes and burnt furniture. Noticing all the fire in my room I scream loudly in fear and all the glass in my room shatters. All of a sudden the fire begins to increase. Then all of a sudden it feels like it's getting closer to me

I cry out loudly and run downstairs as the fire feels like it's chasing me but I'm met with my Grandma eating pancakes happily. I look back towards the direction of my room and everything looks fine again.

I'm now extremely scared and my body is shaking.

What's going on, am I dreaming, is this a dream

"Little one, are you sure you're alright, you're shaking, are you cold" my grandma asks me again.

I look at her again, more intensely this time, and it all begins to come back to me. The house being on fire, the weird lady with wings in the house telling me she was my grandma, the dead bodies scattered around my room, her telling me nonsense about being a fairy, everything was coming back

"You, you're her aren't you, what have you done to me" I ask her bitterly

She looks at me confused, gets up and walks towards me

"What are you talking about little one, come now have a seat let's eat breakfast" she tells me grabbing my hand but I yank my hand out of hers moving away from her "I told you not to call me that!!" I scream at her

Then in a second her face changes, it goes from confusion to realization and finally frustration

She groans frustrated and looks at me somewhat proud and also sad "You've finally been able to break free from my dream spells, that's my specialty" she says smiling at me and almost immediately her body begins to fall apart, then it's replaced with the winged lady I saw earlier

"I knew it was you, what are you trying to do to me" I tell her as my hands are fumbling to reach out for a small knife in my pocket. She notices this and smiles widely "I've already told you, I'm not trying to harm you, although now you need to wake up" she tells me and before I can think she appears in front of me and cups my face.

And darkness overtakes me again.

Validus's POV

"Don't tell me you're still annoyed at me?"

I sigh deeply at the two girls standing in front of my desk.

I and Crystallo had just left the grand hall, we were now in the study of my room in the royal palace, more importantly we had just finished speaking to the Round Table Council, and they were not pleased, with me especially

"Leave my room Crystallo" I tell her

Lilliana moves beside me and puts her hand on my shoulders, "Don't be so harsh on your sister, the Council said they were proud of the information she gave them, she only did what she thought was right"

I scoff and remove her hands from my shoulders "You agree with what she did, and the fact that it resulted in them going after her and setting her house on fire" I ask her bitterly

"You're leaving out the fact that she killed 5 of our guards, dad sent people to where she lived and they could only find a burnt down house and dead bodies, she killed 5 hybrids Validus, you underestimated her" Crystallo replies

"Or maybe you're just overestimating her, what if the person that had hid her here under our noses all this years was the one that did all that, why would she want to burn down her own home" I reply back fiercely

Crystallo groans loudly at my unwillingness to agree with her. "Why are you so adamant on trying to make her innocent, she has killed, she has blood on her hands, stop being so smitten with her and open your FREAKING EYES!!" she screams at me

There's silence between us before we hear a knock on my door

"Validus it's me, I'm coming in" the voice says and the door opens and my dad walks in.

Lilliana immediately bows when she sees him.

I and Crystallo murmur 'Father'

He nods acknowledging all 3 of us before facing his attention to Lilliana "Young werewolf, I hear you've found your mate, one the Gilbert sons am I right" he tells her

"Yes, my Lord, its their second son Raphael" she replies him her head still bowed

"Ahhh, that one's going to be a handful, I take it this means your mating ceremony would be coming up soon" he says again and she nods

"I hope this has helped you get rid of the little crush you once had on the girl Validus" he says looking at my coyly and I groan while Crystallo laughs

"That was a long time ago Father, please stop bringing it up" I tell him my eyes avoiding Lilliana's, I had never outrightly told her about my feelings for her, even though everyone seemed to think it was obvious

"Would you be so kind as to excuse us my dear, I need to talk to the twins" he tells her and she murmurs an 'of course my lord' before she bows at each of us then leaves the room.

As the door closes behind us the atmosphere changes, my dad takes a deep breath before going to take a seat on my bed.

"I'm sure you both know I'm here" he says looking at I and Crystallo

"Yes dad, why does it have to be here though" Crystallo replies playfully.

"This is a serious matter Crystallo, take it as such" he says firmly and Crystallo's demeanor changes

"Are you here to reprimand me?" I ask him but he shakes his head

"I think I'm more surprised at the fact that we now have the presence of a fairy after how many years" he says

"There hasn't been an appearance of fairies since the Banishment" Crystallo adds

"Even before that, they weren't around much, just a few of them" he says

"Did you really send those people after her?" I finally ask the question he has been waiting to hear

"I didn't really feel good about it either you know" he replies me looking me straight in the eye

"But you still did it"

He sighs getting up from the bed before walking towards me to place a hand on my shoulder "Son, you know I will always put the safety of the kingdom first before any other thing, and you should too" he says softly

I stare at my father for a while before I ask "What happens if you find her"

He's about to answer but Crystallo beats him to it "We'll take the necessary precautions needed"

"You mean you'll torture her for information" I ask bitterly

"SON!, I know you seem to have some sort of feelings for the girl, but get rid of it at once, you know why fairies are banned, their blood is like poison to Vampires, you've read the stories, how they waged war against the very first Vampire and Vampire King, Fairies are dangerous" he tells me sternly before walking out of the room

"Well look what you did you've pissed Dad off" Crystallo says trying to keep in her laughter like the situation was amusing to her"

I look at her annoyed and she smiles at me in return unfazed by my annoyance. "We fought on your date so I thought you'd gotten it out of your system but it seems me telling dad and the council about this made things worse, I don't know what's wrong though, if it were any other person you'd not have a problem but it's just her" She tells me

"It's not like that, I've talked to her and she's harmless, she didn't even know her own powers, how could that type of person be dangerous" I tell her looking away

"You know with the way you're so upset about this, one would think you're mated to her" she says laughing as she walks out of my room

I glance at the door after she has walked out pondering what she said

Could that be why I was so drawn to her

Could we be mates

Vampires don't outrightly have mates like Werewolves do, some are lucky enough to find the person the universe selected for them to be their partner for eternity, some not so lucky and just pick whoever they are attracted to. I'm part werewolf but Ive subdued my wolf for so long that we're now out of tune with each other, but it did try to come out the night I attacked Jenson when he first attacked Eirene, and the following week when I confronted him again at the house

"I don't think that's it, besides I always thought Lilliana would be my mate, but I was wrong, Crystallo is just messing with my head" I murmur to myself

I sigh and stretch my hands out in the air, seconds later a portal forms out of mid air

I had to talk to Ancien and his wife

Eirene's POV

"Greatt, you're finally awake, I was beginning to think I had gotten the spell wrong"

I groan heavily sitting up trying to gain consciousness.

I open my eyes and scan around me, the surroundings are unfamiliar to me

"Drink this, you'll need it, it must have taken a lot of strength to break free of my magic" the winged lady says handing me a cup with a dirty green substance in it

Collecting the cup, I notice her wings are gone, she's just a normal lady now.

"Where are we" I ask her taking a small sip from the cup in my hand. My eyes widen at the sweetness of the drink contrast to its look and I gulp down it's content immediately

"Well, you're just like your mother, she also loved my mixtures even though they looked nasty" she tells me and that brings me back to proper reality

I'm in an unknown location with some lady creature with wings who keeps talking about my dead mother and supposed Grandmother

"Okay, I think I deserve an explanation now, who are you? No sorry, what are you? How do you have wings, and how were you able to look like my grandmother" I ask her in a rush

She smiles at me collecting the cup, refills it with the same drink and hands it back to me

"I must warn you that I can't answer every question you'll probably ask me as it is not my place to answer some, but I can start by telling you about what I am" she tells me softly

"What do you mean it is not your place" I ask her again

She smiles at me again collecting the cup, puts it away and shuffles to sit next to me.

As she sits next to me I raise my knees to my chest and wrap my arms around them. She's a stranger to me, I feel uncomfortable sitting next to her but she doesn't notice my unease and begins

"My real name is Illusio, and as you've probably realized by now I'm not human, I'm a fairy, a magical creature, my specialty is creating illusions-"

"What do you mean you're a fairy, fairies don't exist, they're just fairytale creatures we read in children's books" I cut her off annoyed and she laughs, amused by my annoyance

"Sweetheart, magical creatures are very very real, they come in all types, Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Sorcerers or as people like to call them Wizards who are really just male witches, Banshees, Mermaids, Sirens, and finally my people Fairies, all together with Humans made up the nine realm, The Novem Regnum"

"Wait, Regnum, as in Regnum where we live, this place is filled with magical creatures?, you're playing with me" I ask her in disbelief

She smiles again and continues "Yes little one, A long time ago after the great Bellum, when the first Vampire King, Timor, the very first of his kind waged war on the fairies. The magical creatures that had been created to win the war and those that existed beforehand all came together to live under the rulership of Timor and the Fairy Queen Natura, it was named Novem Regnum, where all magical creatures lived in somewhat harmony, all in their separate lands, but the ways and doctrines of fairies were far different than that of other magical creatures, we believed everything of nature was sacred, others did not. As time went on Natura decided she didn't want any more of her people under the influence of Timor, because a lot of fairies were straying and beginning to practice dark magic, which is very much against fairy rules. Timor refused terribly because he had figured out that since it was through the help of a fairy he became a Vampire, that it would be the blood of Fairies that would be able to kill a vampire, permanently. Knowing this he didn't want to get us fairies out of his sight, but when Queen Natura insisted by threatening to use her knowledge of the Vampires weaknesses against him and his kind, he yielded. When other creatures like the Mermaids and Sirens had seen the Fairies get out they wanted out too, but the Werewolves, Witches, Wizards and Banshees and obviously Vampires decided to stick with Timor. The Humans were too scared to opt out for their fear of Timor, but after the Co rulers came they renamed it Regnum, and things became more lenient under their rule so the humans were granted their wish to not be a part of Novem Regnum, they were granted their own territory, Anthropos"

My eyes are wide open as she finishes talking. I'm baffled by this information.

"This is all too much, first you're telling me fairies are real, and that magical creatures exist and have existed since like what, the beginning of time?? Werewolves, freaking mermaids, what the hell are Banshees even, and how does all that information have to do with me and the fact that you basically did some hocus pocus on me and put me in a dream like reality" I ask her rambling

She bursts out into laughter on noticing my facial expression which genuinely confuses me.

Is she laughing, is she seriously laughing, I've just been hit with a bombshell that sounds like some fairytale or fantasy book and she's laughing?!

"I'm sorry, it's just your facial expression was hilarious, I couldn't help myself" she says wiping the tears of her eyes

Agitated I stand up and point out the knife Raelynn had given me at her. She looks taken aback but recovers almost instantly and sighs heavily. "What does this have to do with you, lets see, it has everything to do with you why, because you're Princess Neptis Eirene granddaughter of Queen Natura"

She's gone mad, I'm sure of it now

It's now my turn to burst out in uncontrollable laughter at the lady's ridiculous statement.

Me?? Granddaughter to the Fairy Queen Natura, and even worse a Princess, freaking CRAZY TALK

"Okay is this like a prank or something, that's crazy talk, how can I be a fairy talk less of the granddaughter of the "Fairy queen" I don't even know my parents, I've lived with my grandmother ever since I was little, which now I'm not even sure about since you my supposed old and wrinkly grandmother is talking to me right now as a F.A.I.R.Y, you must be joking right" I tell her whilst wiping tears from my eyes

"You can deny it all you want, but it's the truth, and when we go see your Grandmother, she'll  tell you everything, especially about your parents, that is if nothing goes wrong " she tells me

My Parents, she'd tell me about my parents, id always wanted to know about them, if all this crap I'm being told is actually true, then does that mean I'm a magical creature, granddaughter of some fairy queen. I need more answers

"When do we get to meet her then" I ask her eagerly and she pulls out a necklace

"What am I supposed to do with this?" I ask her reaching out for it but she shoves my arm away

"This necklace belongs to the Fairy Supreme, Queen Natura, she gave it to me before we moved to Anthropos as a way to reach the fairy realm if I ever felt you were ready, it's time, she'll tell you more about who you are and whatever you want to know, are you ready to see your grandmother, princess" she says looking at me

This is crazy Eirene, just 3 days ago you were on a date with a hot guy who you found out was the prince, now you're finding out your grandmother is not actually your grandmother but some fairy lady, that you're a princess, and are about to enter a magical realm to meet your fairy grandmother who has known you existed all along, this kind of thing only happens in movies for crying out loud

"If you do not wish to go, we will not go, for the gate to open you need to be willing to see her" she tells me

I take a deep breath in and nod my head

"Well then, lets go see Queen grannie" I tell her

Hey guys, I know, I know my late updating is becoming a routine. I'll do my best to be on time.

So Eirene's has now discovered a little bit about herself and she's finally going to meet her  Grandmother, i wonder what will happen, find out, and as always i hoped you all enjoyed this chapter, it's now my longest so far with 4000+ words, I feel so proud of myself
