(This is more best friend stuff)
You lay in your hospital bed, glancing over at your heart monitor. The lines rose and fell, each breath you took, the lines became smaller. You had to hold on, for just a few more minuets... She'd come.
Who was she, you may ask? Your best friend, Alex Bonnefoy. She was the personification of the city of New Orleans. You felt sorry for her. She would live forever, stay young, and have to live with you, one of her best friends, dead from old age.
Alex ran into your room, tears streaming down her face. She took a deep shaky breath and pulled a chair up next to your bed, taking your hand and rubbing it comfortingly.
"I'm here, y/n..." She mumbled. "I'm here... It's okay.... You can go...." Her voice cracked at that last part.
You smiled sadly at her, squeezing her hand. You rest your head back on your pillow, closing your eyes. Just like thy your whole body went numb.
"Y/N....? You still there...?" Alex asked in a mumble. Her eyes watered with tears as she got no reply. She let go of your hand, hugging her knees and sobbing. This almost hurt as much as her mother being burned at the stake.
Everyone warned me not to get close to another human... But I didn't listen... She bought miserably.
