Hugo

Title of Fanfic: Angels and Demons

Name: Hugo

Age: 2

Birthday: July 9

Blood Type: N/A

Species: Android

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 175 lbs

Hair: Beige, with forest-green bangs; has grown quite shaggy in the last year, thick around his ears and brushing at his chin

Eyes: One emerald, one gold

Crew: Hellfire Pirates

Role: Doctor/Navigator

Epithet: N/A

Bounty: N/A

Appearance: Hugo's appearance is disproportionate on several levels. His meager height does little to explain his weighty frame, though if asked (which is quite often, strangely enough) he'll dive head-first into a ridiculously detailed explanation as to why he wasn't crafted with lighter metals (most tune him out after the first minute or so of his rant).  His dual-colored hair was a mistake in itself; he was originally meant to have strictly beige locks, but a mistake in the concocted dye left him with discolored bangs. His eyes are multi-colored, as well, with the right being the original emerald green, and the left a glittering gold. When he was awakened by the Hellfires, it was discovered that he had one point been pilfered for parts, one of which was his left eye. He scrounged around for a replacement but could only find said gold one, and seeing no other option he outfitted himself with the mismatched iris.

His standard outfit consists of a cerulean-blue jumpsuit, with his identification number (0029) printed over the breast pocket, and durable black boots. Upon joining the Hellfire Pirates, he decided he should rid himself of his affiliation to the World Government and chose instead to dress minimally in black slacks, a dark gray hooded-jacket beneath a black suit jacket, and polished black shoes. When he's acting as the crew's doctor he'll ditch the jacket and throw on a smock so as to not ruin his pristine clothing.

On the back of his neck, beneath his hair, is a small, circular port. It's purpose was to allow him to download information, whether that be on his own or from his creators. It's useless now, in any case, and so he chooses to simply conceal it as best he can. He also possesses a small scar on his chest where his synthetic skin was torn; he was unable to patch up the tear, leaving a glimpse of his mechanical innards. He looks perfectly human so long as both are not visible.

Personality: Unfailingly polite and cheerful, Hugo was programmed to serve with a smile on his face, and to never even consider contradicting a direct order from his superiors. He was an experimental android not meant for combat for medical treatment, and was thus given a range of emotions (such as sympathy and empathy) that his predecessors never learned. He was not, however, gifted with the more expressive emotions like anger or hatred, because they were deemed to be disruptive to his central purpose.

Preferred Method of Fighting: Hugo's only means of fighting are centered around his brute strength, seeing as he does not possess any weaponry or legitimate combat capabilities. The crew usually instructs him to keep as far away from the fray as he can, thinking they wouldn't be able to repair him if he were to get fatally injured.

Devil Fruit: N/A

Short History: The product of a Government-funded project that sought to create androids expressly for the World Government's deployment, Hugo was subject 0029, the twenty-ninth android to come into existence. His creation marked the beginning of a project's deviating interests, and they moved more into medical research than combat, which the Government did not find beneficial at all. The project's funding was pulled and subsequently shut down within five years of its start, and the facility in which the androids were made was abandoned. Many of the androids were disassembled, their parts put into other projects, and Hugo was one of the few who survived. A scientist who couldn't bear the idea of all their hard work going to waste powered Hugo down and stored him in one of the facility's warehouses, where he was eventually happened upon by the Hellfire Pirates; he was booted up and allowed to roam around his former home, where he came across files detailing how the project collapsed. With no clear instructions to follow, he was eventually convinced by the crew to join them, and ever since he's seen them as his superiors.

While exploring the facility, Hugo realized that there were other androids that were saved from "death" and he's decided they must be somewhere on the Grand Line, as he couldn't find a trace of them in the facility.

Dream: He lives only to his superiors (which now simply means the Hellfire Pirates)
