Cadence
Title of Fanfic: Adrift [One Piece]
Name: Cadence
Age: 19
Birthday: May 1
Blood Type: A
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 124 lb
Hair: Short, black tresses that she keeps tucked behind her ears, with curling strands that cling to the back of her neck
Eyes: A clear, calming blue, likened to the color of the sky after a particularly damning storm
Crew: Wraith Pirates
Role: Musician
Epithet: "Banshee"
Bounty: 20, 000, 000
Appearance: Cadence is both small in stature and small in presence. She's a petite girl with unremarkable features, though she's been described as having mesmerizing eyes, if only when she's engrossed in her music. Her jet-black hair is rather short as well, barely even reaching her chin, and she's constantly seen tucking the loose strands just behind her ears (Cat and Zeo have come to think of it as a nervous tick). Her outfit is oddly complex for upbringing, made up of a short red-and-white dress with a high collar, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and affixed with pin-stripe black ribbons in multiple places [it's literally the dress the girl is wearing in the above picture], and white, kitten-heeled ankle boots. Her silver flute is strapped to her forearm and slides out easily when she flicks her wrist a certain way.
Personality: Cadence is disarmingly awkward. She can hardly speak without her words dissolving into incoherent stuttering, and a fourth of her time is spent desperately trying to rub away the red hue to her cheeks. Cadence is, however, a very kind and considerate girl who tries to make others happy, especially through her music. She's a dreadful coward, though, and easily succumbs to the flight option of her fight-or-flight response - a trait which she absolutely abhors about herself. She can't stand how useless she is in combat situations, and pays no heed to Zeo when he attempts to persuade her that her work has a musician is just as important as the fighting that the others carry out.
Cadence is also unreasonably frightened of many, many things. None of these fears are severe enough to qualify as actual phobias, but they do hinder her quite a bit. When particularly terrified, her Devil Fruit powers activate on survival instinct alone, and they have the tendency to cause quite a bit of damage.
Preferred Method of Fighting: Despite the fact that she's deemed herself unsuitable for fighting, her Devil Fruit powers are fairly powerful when put on the offensive (because of the likelihood of this happening, though, they aren't seen as such).
Devil Fruit: Koe-Koe no Mi (Voice-Voice Fruit). There are several facets to her powers, some of them more useful than others. She's able to throw her voice (and I mean this literally), making it appear as though she's speaking from a great distance away; after hearing someone speak, she can perfectly mimic their voice, recreating everything from tone to pitch to any little quirks they might have in their speech; for actual use in combat, she's able to amplify her actual voice to extreme levels, producing sounds so high in decibels that she can shatter eardrums, and even form a shock wave of sorts from the sound waves she creates.
Short History: Much of her life before she entered the orphanage on Sinfonia Island is a taboo subject, which she refuses to speak about to anyone, no matter how close she is to them. From there, though, most everyone is aware of her early years, how she remained within the orphanage for years, how she bonded with the children there, received her flute from the caretaker and put on little shows for her fellow orphans. She eventually took over the orphanage, feeling so indebted to the place that she couldn't simply leave once she'd come of age and the caretaker had passed away. At the time of her meeting with the Wraith Pirates, she was well-respected by the citizens of Sinfonia and cared for at least a dozen children, ranging in age from four to twelve.
Dream: Cadence doesn't possess any notable dreams or goals. If she had to pick something, though, she'd most likely say her dream to keep making people happy as long as she's alive.
Miscellaneous
Likes: Music, birds, sunlight, quiet mornings and evenings
Dislikes: Heights, darkness, storms, large, ferocious animals, large, ferocious people, seeings others suffering, confrontation
Other: She's strangely optimistic about everything, despite all her fears and grievances and such; she's the largest source of encouragement on the ship
Character Song: Hard to Believe [David Cook]
