I headcanon that a few rose quartzes escaped homeworld, and escaped being poofed and bubbled. They disguise themselves as pink sapphires and rescue more rose quartzes a lot, and live on mask island. They made peaceful little homes there, out of straw, leaves and anything else they can find, or what washes up on shore.
