PART 3/3
-
The first thing Georgie remembers hearing as she was woken up was sirens. Then she felt the men steady her as she stood. She couldn't make out what they were saying, but it sounded panicked.
She knew the men were leading her towards the door before a gunshot rang out. The men subsequently scattered and dropped her. A black woman approached Georgie, getting on the ground in front of her.
"Hello, are you okay?" The woman asked gently. "I'm Sophia." She turned towards the other agent in the room. "Nunez, could you hand me the blanket?"
"Yeah, yeah." Nunez did just that and Sophia draped the blanket. He handed some papers to Sophia, who quickly skimmed through them, her eyes going a tad bit wide.
"Wow," She whispered to herself before helping Georgie up. They led Georgie outside and sat her on a curb as a blonde man approached her. He knelt down in front of her.
"Hello," He started. "Are you okay?"
"I'm very tired," Georgie replied and the man nodded.
"That's understandable." He smiled kindly. "What's your name?"
"Georgie."
Well, at the very least she remembered her nickname.
"Georgie, do you recognize me?" His expression shifted to one of concern.
"Uh-" The blonde woman shook her head. "No, I don't. I'm sorry."
He opened his mouth to speak again before Sophia got his attention. "Rogers, we need to get her to a hospital."
"You're right," Rogers said as he helped Georgie up and over to the squad car. The entire drive, she was on the verge of falling asleep. A few times she felt Rogers shake her shoulder.
When they got to the hospital and performed tests on her, she was barely awake. Finally, they brought her to her own room and she was asleep within minutes.

Six hours or so, she started to wake up. She soon saw a blonde man towering over her. She screamed, sat up, and punched him square in the jaw.
A realization then hit her.
"Wait, Steve?"
Steve quickly recovered from the hit. "Yeah, it's me, Georgie," He said, smiling slightly at his sister. "Do you recognize me?"
In answer, Georgie pulled her brother in for a tight hug.
"I thought you were dead," The blonde woman whispered.
After an explanation from her brother, the Rogers siblings sat in silence for a bit.
Finally, Georgie let out a dry laugh. "Yeah, I should've known you'd be too stubborn to die."
