The funeral of Eddie Blackwood was a strange one. Edward Maurice Blackwood, found by Mary's River, three gunshot wounds in his back and two in his head? Just a little over a week after his wife, darling Clarissa Blackwood, went missing? Well, to the public, somebody had it out for the Blackwoods and the kids ought to watch their backs.
But, no.
Not one of the Blackwood children cared. From EJ to Roxie, none of them could care less about their father. EJ was gonna be Blackwood Enterprises new CEO, Brandon never cared for his father, William was gonna have a higher position in Blackwood Enterprises, Nathan never cared, Johnny never cared and Roxie most certainly never cared.
And they all knew who did it. They may all be stupid, but dear lord, not even Roxie was that stupid. The Lowes were here, because of course the Lowes were here. It was a cloudy but warm day as the priest spoke.
"And here, another Blackwood is laid to rest. May Edward Blackwood find peace." And with those final words, Edward Blackwood Senior was buried. His headstone was fairly mundane.
EDWARD MAURICE BLACKWOOD

All of the Blackwood kids knew he did something to Clarissa. Whether or not they cared, they knew. So, there was no way in hell that she hadn't done what she did. Not one of them cared. Not one of them was even remotely sad about it. Well, maybe Hadley was upset. But she doesn't count, she's a tiny, naive child.
So, the Tolerable Blackwoods™, Brandon, Nathan, Johnny and Roxie, walked over to Claire Lowe, who was making small talk with Clarissa's sister, Maggie. Roxie smiled her signature smile. "Hey there, aunt Maggie. We need to talk to Claire for a little bit." She said. Maggie smiled and walked away.
Well, might as well cut to the chase.
"We know it was you, Claire."
Claire's eyes widened for a moment, she was rendered speechless.
"Trust us, we're not gonna tell anyone." Nathan said, looking between his siblings and Claire.
"Honestly, I figured as much. I'm sorry about your mother," Claire smiled courteously at the kids. "Don't be. We always knew he'd do something to her sooner or later." Brandon shrugged, although he directed his eyes towards the ground.
Claire stepped forward, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Well, I'll see you later at the reception," And then she walked away.
Each and every one of the Blackwoods knew this was something they'd be taking to their graves.
