i bet even if we met a thousand times, we'd be friends a thousand times

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, mid-July. Things were relatively slow in the Flores-David household, as they normally were. Lucie upstairs in her room, doing whatever it is she does. Emilia had a rare day off so she just spent it watching TV. When her phone buzzed, she looked to see a text from Samantha.
Laura Easton's alive, she's been staying with Natalia Haden's friend
Natalia talked to her a bit, but I don't know about what
All I've gotten is that Laura's alive and well
A smile spread across Emilia's face as she shot a quick reply to Samantha before heading upstairs and heading into Lucie's room, knocking of course beforehand. The room, obviously, looked different from when Lucie had first gotten here. There were posters from multiple shows lining the wall, there was a pansexual flag hung on the wall, the desk was filled to the brim with trinkets and there was a black bookshelf filled with books, most of which Samantha had recommended.
Lucie was sitting on the floor, scrolling through her phone, earbuds in, presumably on Pinterest, if Emilia had to guess. "Hey, Lucie?" She called and Lucie took out her earbuds, looking up. "Yeah, what's up?"
"They found Laura."
"What?!" She quickly stood up, her expression a mixture of happy and skeptical. "Laura's okay. You know Natalia Haden? She's been staying with a friend of her's. I don't have a lot of information right now, but I'm sure we'll get more pretty soon."
Lucie slid back down the wall, beginning to laugh to herself as some happy tears came flowing down. "Of course she's okay. Why wouldn't she be?"

Lucie did not want to waste a millisecond, so they were set to leave for Toronto tomorrow morning, Samantha and Emilia accompanying her. There was only one thing Lucie could focus on: Laura whateverthehellhermiddlenamewas Easton.
It was around sunset when they pulled up to the Edwards-O'Malley household. The house was a baby blue color with a white porch with a porch swing on the right side and two rocking chairs on the other side. In the window, Lucie could see a redhead girl who was definitely not Laura.
Staring at her from the bottom of the steps was a blonde girl who, despite her new bangs, Lucie could tell that was Laura. Wasting no time, Lucie jetted off, tackling Laura to the ground in a hug after a little scream of excitement.
"Lulu! It's real, this is real, you're okay, I can't believe it! How in the hell did you survive?!" Laura had a smile on her face though, she was crying a little bit herself to. "I have no fucking idea!" She threw her arms right back around Laura, both elated beyond words.
One had accepted the other's death.
One refused to believe that the other could even die in the first place.
Lucie scanned the crowd. She saw the redhead girl, a brunette boy, a brunette woman and a redhead woman. In another corner talking with one another was another brunette and a blue haired girl. No clue who they were, it didn't matter.
Laura was here. She knew who her best friend was. That was all that mattered.
