The Way of the Sith (Part Two)

~~~~~~~<><><><><><><>~~~~~~~<><><><><><><>~~~~~~~
     Darth Jina'tis lay on her back in her bed, staring up at the ceiling, her brow furrowed. She was currently battling with her conscience. Lord Vitiate had ordered her to kill Captain Grica in the morning for accidentally letting an important Republic prisoner to escape from them. She was Sith, yes, but she had never killed anyone for no reason before. Despite being Sith, she didn't like to kill anyone for any reason. What she liked was torture methods to get enemies to speak. She liked the feeling of being superior, of being powerful, of being mighty. All who knew her feared her. It felt wonderful. But killing? No. She still didn't like it. She didn't think she ever would.
Over the past two years, they had gained control of all of Dromund Kaas- as far as they could tell- and had begun to build the Sith Empire. Those who weren't native to Dromund Kaas were either Sith or imperials- and bounty hunters, such as tough Mandalorians, had moved in as well. The Emperor was in full control, and phase one was complete. Now, Jina'tis had to kill Grica before she was sent on her next mission, which was possibly off world.
Jina'tis gave a frustrated sigh before she rolled over onto her side, then pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. She did her best to stop thinking about it and closed her eyes. Several minutes later, she had fallen to sleep.
     Hours later, early in the morning, she was woken when her holocom began beeping. Upon seeing who it was, she quickly put her cloak on to hide the bedhead and nightgown the best she could before she answered it, lowering herself onto one knee. "Master, what is thy bidding?" She asked in humble, quiet submission.
"The time has come. Go and end Grica's life. He is too incompetent." Lord Vitiate replied vilely, then he eyed her with his dark orange eyes. "I can trust you to finish the job, can I not?"
     Jina'tis hesitated for only a split second before she bowed her head further in submission. "It will be done, my lord." She replied solemnly. Inwardly, she dreaded it, and her heart pounded against her rib cage at the thought of having to do such a thing. But she'd made up her mind. She would do it. She wasn't strong enough nor was she in the position to escape from the Empire. Once the transmission had been cut, Jina'tis got to her feet, got dressed, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, then clipped on her weapons belt and lightsabers before she threw her cloak back on and walked out the door. Time to get this over with.
Jina'tis made her way to the office where the law enforcers worked, and she was soon walking up the stairs and down the hall that led to Grica's office. She entered soon after and, upon seeing him discussing things with Lord Vitiate over the holocom, she waited in the back room.
     "I am afraid that you are too incompetent to work for me." Lord Vitiate told Grica, then glanced at Jina'tis when she walked in and gesture for her to come up behind Grica and ready her lightsaber. Once the hesitant woman was in place, he smirked, his orange eyes flashing red. "I'm afraid you are fired. From life."
     Jina'tis silently gulped and, right as her master said the word 'fired', she pressed the blade to the man's back before she activated the lightsaber, red blade piercing his back and chest. She tried to ignore the feeling of betrayal and fear coming from the man, and the feeling of guilt that washed over her. She removed her blade after jerking it up so it would pierce his heart, then she deactivated the blade and pushed the guilt away. A part of her found that what she'd just done had been exhilarating. Was this part of what power felt like? But she also felt a stabbing guilt, like a lightsaber piercing her own heart. She looked at her master on the holocom when he began speaking.
     "Well done, Jina'tis. Well done." Vitiate crooned. "I know that was difficult for you. You favored him above the other law enforcers." He added in slow and precise pronunciation. "But he was incompetent; too soft. He will be replaced with an imperial officer of my own choosing."
     Jina'tis lowered her head respectfully after he spoke. "Yes, my master. Of course." She replied, managing to keep her voice from trembling the same way her hands and legs were. She felt sick to her stomach, and her throat burned with bile. She averted her eyes from the dead man and kept her gaze trained on her master. "What are my next orders?"
     "You are to take a shuttle to Nar Shaddaa. Once you are there, you will receive further instructions. However, before you leave, meet me in my chamber. There is someone I want you to meet." Vitiate instructed before cutting the transmission.
Jina'tis left the holoterminal once the transmission had been cut and made her way back to the building her master was in, one of the largest buildings in Kaas City. Why he'd chosen the room he'd chosen instead of a throne room, no one was really certain. Perhaps he'd prefer a different planet to rule from once this planet had been taken over. Soon, a new Sith Empire would exist here.
Soon, she was entering a speeder to get to the building, and only about fifteen minutes later she had reached the landing pad. She landed the speeder, got out of the vehicle, then walked down from the landing pad, down a long stretch, around a monument, and into the building. She walked around another monument once inside, then across a bridge type of thing, then walked until she saw the correct room. She turned to her right and walked into the first door from the wall before her, then followed the hall until she entered a larger room. Her master was only a couple of yards inside, and a Sith Pureblood stood by his side. The kid, despite being at least almost seven feet tall, looked to be no older than twenty one.
"Darth Jina'tis." Lord Vitiate greeted after the woman bowed before him. "Rise." He commanded in a gentle tone, watching the Sith woman for a moment before he turned to the Sith Pureblood beside him. "This is my new apprentice, Darth Saeva. He will be joining you on your mission."
Jina'tis's gaze hardened and she looked at her master. "You have more apprentices than only myself? Should I know of any others?" She asked before looking at the Pureblood before her, glaring just slightly. She knew how these things worked. It was the strongest that survived. Either he would eventually try to kill her, or she would kill him.
"You should mind your own business. The others are simply information sources. They are expendable, unlike you." Vitiate replied before he began pacing before the pointy-eared woman, hands folded behind his back. "Darth Saeva will be accompanying you. However, I've not chosen a rank for the two of you, who is mightier and in charge. Therefore, you will duel, right here, and right now. Fight for dominance."
Saeva narrowed his eyes at the Sith woman as he pulled out his blade, preparing to fight the shorter Sith woman. "Just because you are a female doesn't mean I'm going easy on you, shorja." He hissed as he activated his red blade.
Jina'tis scowled at the Pureblood when he called her a dog in his native tongue, activating her own lightsaber. She would get the second one out if she needed that, but she highly doubted that she would. "Good, because I would kill you if you disrespected me by going easy on me, Ctahûn."
Saeva scowled when he was called a child in his own tongue, High Sith, by the female. He took his robes off to reveal armor, and he got into a battle stance. Once the woman had shed her own cloak and got into a battle stance, he struck, blades clashing briefly before he quickly and swiftly stabbed at her face. This couldn't be too difficult- she was only a short little human. He could defeat her without the Force should he choose to do so.
Jina'tis backed up quickly when he stabbed at her face, then she reached forward and allowed her blade to clash into his before she ran her blade up to his blade's hilt, trying to wrench it from his grasp. He tightened it, however, so she then swung at his legs before kicking him in the gut and sending him backwards, having used the Force to her advantage. Once he was down, she leaped forward just in time for him to get up and block her blade with his own again.
Saeva clenched his teeth angrily and Force pushed the female before he himself leaped forward and pinned her beneath his foot, knocking the lightsaber out of her hands. He then smirked triumphantly as the female beneath him grunted. "Seems I've won this round."
Jina'tis then smirked. "I wouldn't be so sure." She replied before activating her other lightsaber and swinging at his legs. Once the Pureblood leaped off of her, she got to her feet and called her other lightsaber to her, both lightsabers  now at the ready. After the two went back and forth with clashing crimson blades, the Sith woman Force-leaped over the seven-foot-tall kid, spun around, and held both lightsabers to his throat. "I will admit, I'm impressed that I had to use both lightsabers on the likes of you."
Saeva glared at her, but he didn't say a word. Once the much shorter female deactivated her lightsabers, he put his own away and remained silent, now awaiting further orders. If she was his superior now, then he didn't wish to anger her any more than he already had. Yet, a part of him did. He could tell that she was a feisty one. Yet, he seemed to sense a part of her that was quiet, kind, and submissive. Was she not completely loyal to the Sith? Was there some rebellion in her heart?
"Good, good." Vitiate said slowly, smirking as he looked at his apprentices. "Jina'tis will be in charge. You, Saeva, will accompany her. It will be your duty to aid her in combat, and to provide her with medical supplies if she happens to need them."
"Yes, my lord." Saeva replied, bowing his head respectfully. "I will do all in my power to protect the lady." He added in solemn promise. And he usually kept his promises. The only time he didn't was if his master told him to break his promises. He would do whatever his master, or masters, told him.
Vitiate looked from Saeva to Jina'tis after the Pureblood spoke and stepped over to her, past her, then he stood behind her to the left. "Go to Nar Shaddaa. Since you are here, I'll brief you here rather than have you wait." He said before walking in front of his apprentices again and pacing as he spoke. "You will meet up with a Zihleg The Hutt once you have arrived. I'll send the coordinates to you once you've reached the moon."
"Yes, my master." Jina'tis responded with a bow of her head. Once she was told she was dismissed, she left the room with graceful strides, her new companion following along after her. She remained silent, not knowing what to say to the Pureblood, and she wasn't sure that she did want to speak to him. He may not want to speak to her, either, so she could put up with the silence.
"If you can handle yourself so well, why exactly is your master sending me along with you?" Saeva asked after a moment's silence, eyeing the pointy-eared woman in front of him with a suspicious look. She had beaten him, and she'd worked alone up until this point. "Does he not trust you?"
Jina'tis rolled her eyes. "Trust? Trust doesn't exist in the world of the Sith, yet no one sends a babysitter along with their apprentices. What Lord Vitiate has in mind, I've no idea. I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." She replied haughtily. "Now, be quiet, would you?"
Saeva narrowed his eyes on her and ignored the last part. She wasn't truly his superior, just another apprentice that he was in competition with, so why should he listen? "If that's true, then why would he be sending me to babysit you?" He questioned again. "You too soft of a Sith?"
Jina'tis abruptly stopped, turned, and pinned the taller man to the wall with the Force, eyes flashing a brighter and angry blue. "Look, I don't know who you are, and I don't know where you came from, but from now on, you'll do as I tell you. 'Kay?" She said with an air of superiority. She then released the Pureblood, turned around, and continued making her way out of the building.
Saeva narrowed his eyes on the woman again, then followed after her, remaining silent. Not because he feared her, as he was still confident that he could take her on without the Force or a blade. He couldn't deny one thing, though. As much as her attitude annoyed him, he kind of liked it.
