His first name, TianWei (天威) means 'Heaven' and 'Great/Power/Guard' and his last name, Zhang (张) means 'Archer'. Though he mostly goes by 'Tian' or 'Tianwei'.

Since Tigress is around 25, he's around his 20's, being quite younger.

As mentioned before, he is a black panther. He is strong, agile and fast, his dark fur rather useful when needing stealth. His eyes are blue, which contrast with him perfectly.

His tail is long, and fluffy, just like his brother's.

He often wears a navy blue robe, like the one below.

He is very reserved. Often speaks when needed, otherwise he'll keep quiet. He's calm and serene, but strong and impulsive. He still has that feline, instinct he can't calm. Anger issues, and gets frustrated easily. He often tries to be a mediator, rather than an agresor. When this doesn't work out, he settles for a more offensive style of kung-fu, rather than a defensive one.

He is gentle, and although he is hot headed and sarcastic, he has a nice heart. He just fears not being good enough...or to be compared with his brother all his life.

Tai Lung's younger brother. They didn't have the closest of bonds, due to a large age gap (Tian is 20, and Tai Lung over 40). Around the age of 18, he asked Shifu for training. He refused (for obvious reasons, as Tai Lung had already left- of course), and passed him onto Tigress for training (after making Tian prove himself worthy of their time), who didn't like the idea at first, but ended up agreeing to it.

For the past two years- to the first movie events- he's been Tigress apprentice, slowly and secretly falling for her.

Tai Lung tried to lure him into joining him, and becoming the strongest duo, but declined and got into an argument that resulted in a fight. Afterwards, Tai Lung died and Tian didn't get the chance to make amends with him (later resolved on the fourth movie).
