Personality:
Atal isn't really what you think of when you think death, truthfully they're near opposite. They're an incredibly creative and individual that chooses to accompany most people to the afterlife, commonly covering the people that other spirits and beings don't want.
They have shown to be incredibly compassionate and caring to children, the innocent, and thought truly damaged in death... but they'll drag the rude, obnoxious, and horrible kicking and screaming into the afterlife

Atal was created to help guide dead souls to the afterlife, though they do own a quiet little bakery because they wanted to be known for something other then death.

Atal has all the death related powers along with the ability to travel through and manipulate shadows.
