Personality 
Val is rather laid back and cool headed, not a lot really fusses him and their tends to be an air of superiority around him. He will often stray away from anything annoying or anything that he sees as 'unnecessary'. Val is a rather quiet man who has a stern look about him, he can easily give people the wrong impression and he isn't one to correct the assumptions made about him. Val loves poetry, classic literature and even has a soft spot for the cuter things in life, however this isn't a side he will often show to people and even when asked about it by people he isn't close with he will give off a vague answer that only  really makes people want to ask more questions. 

Backstory 
Val's mother was the first in their family to be born a witch in over seven generations and of course she was widely celebrated and put on a pedestal. There was so much pressure put on her that she found herself ignoring her own needs to help her family and her small town, at one point the towns people even started to worship her, relying on her for every little problem and inconvenience. It became so much that she snapped and ended up falling into dark magic, she went on a power trip and started to subjugate the people who once loved and worshiped her. It was around this point where she became pregnant with Valentino, a child with as much potential as her. She saw herself in her son and with her twisted ego wanted to raise him up to take her place, however before this could happen she was caught by the council and exacted for her crimes. Valentino was five when this happened and yet he can still remember the last words she said to him. 'We are one in the same.' 
After the loss of his mother Valentino was no longer welcomed in his families home, they threw him out fearing he would become a monster like his mother, and so he grew up between foster homes until he was old enough to go to the academy.
