Bio:

Marquess or Aiden being his real name, was the first weapon to be created from the Targaryen's. There was a reason for it that was kept a secret that no one alive left knows about.

Early life:

Before he became a weapon, Marquess served a personal guard for the Targaryen house. Much like how he is now, he was calculated and kept his emotions in check. He was fond of his sister and the dragons they had, but all of what was doomed to change.

When the rebellion happened, Marquess mainly took on a defensive tactic. Until he was ordered to traverse through a mountain range to flank the enemy. However, he would be the only one returning from said route.

Aiden had claimed to have found a powerful artifact in the mountains. Upon researching and surveying it, he didn't know what it was doing to him. It messed with his emotions, and his curiosity turned into obsession.

Nothing else is known about what happened, but the knights believed Aiden killed his own battalion in cold blood. Although Aiden didn't admit to it, but returning by himself with artifact in hand said another.

During the Rebellion, Marquess stuck to studying the artifact ignoring his masters calls and orders. Finally, the Queen ordered for the artifact to be destroyed.

Aiden then went mad and attempted to kill her and her guards. But luckily she put a magic crystal on him, that subdued him. The artifact appeared to be indestructible, and so the Queen thought of the next possible solution.
She sealed the artifact away along with Marquess physical body, but transported his soul into his own personal crossbow.
But out of fear in case he would try to get to the artifact again, she put up blockers in his mind. These blockers prevented some memories, personality, and emotion from showing.

Thus why Marquess now seems so stiff and lacks emotion.

Modern:

Marquess has slowly been regaining his memories, being close to Bishop's magical abilities caused the Queen's seal to weaken over time.
Discovering these new memories left him shocked, but also conflicted. He is obsessed over the artifact but he also doesn't want to become enemies of Bishop.

So the crossbow set out back to the Targaryen's homeland in hopes of using the artifact for good.

Little did he know his past self predicted, implanted a chip into his body. So when Marquess does return to his old body it would control his emotions and behavior, somewhat similar to that of an AI. This idea was what the Artifact given him.
