Marianna's birth is actually unknown, she has adoptive parents and siblings. But her creation is unknown at least to her, her step-parents have an idea but they don't wish to tell her.

Her mother was a diver who fell in love with the sea, but ended up dying due to a harpoons that her her chest. The place she died was at the life tree where her body was left to be consumed. As to how her daughter came alive is unknown, since her parents found in a basket made of kelp on the shore. They took their chance to raise her, but did notice she was odd and had a strange attachment to the sea.

She was bullied throughout her life, since she was always found in the sea or at the beach doing weird things. At least in their eyes it was weird, but to her she was more so trying to understand the current and different rhythms the water gave.

Eventually to set out to start her life research marine life, although her parents was against and everyone told her it was a waste of time. She ignored them and continued on to find the sea beasts that saved her, so she has been all over research different sea creatures.

She is unaware of what she is and believes she is human.

She is able to understand the ways of the water, listen to the rhythm, etc..

Her powers will awaken under the right time and certain conditions.
