A kind hearted, warm soul that's like sweet sunshine and forehead kisses.

Ruth is a nice individual. Not because she's scheming to get anything from anyone or use them, but because she wants to be. She believes everybody deserves to be treated with it, but isn't so naive to believe that everyone will be nice in return. She tends to trust her gut with people, even if it's not always one hundred percent correct all the time.

She likes meeting new people, and striking up conversation. She's not the best at it though, and can ramble a bit when speaking. However, it's never stopped her from marching right on up to people that she thinks are neat, and talking to them. She's the kind of person who doesn't want to live life with regrets, and will throw caution to the wind and do what she thinks first, and wonder if it was a bad idea or not later. She's definitely the sort to run into a situation without thinking, which is brave to some, foolish to others.

Despite being a gentle flame, Ruth can truly blaze. She's incredibly protective of her friends and family, and tends to be rather bull headed if something happens. It's always been odd, for a sweet girl to be ready to throw down to defend a loved one's honor. But she regularly deals with stubborn mules and unruly roosters - so it makes sense. And it's good for her in the long run, making her someone who will speak out against an injustice, and defend herself if someone tries to use her kindness as a weakness.

That being said, Ruth's short temper is but a small fraction of who she is. She's quite curious, as the life in Caim Academy differs greatly from her at home life. She loves it, and would consider staying there forever if she wasn't needed at her family's farm. The oldest of four, Ruth tends to carry a lot of weight there, both literally and physically. Because of this, she has a great work ethic that has followed her to the academy. She works hard and doesn't procrastinate, turning assignments in on time. She's not necessarily a teacher's pet though, just someone who follows the motto of having her work done before she can relax.

She's quite different from how she can be at home too, often more chatty and playful. At home, life is full of work; from looking after her siblings to caring for the plants and animals. It makes her a lot more somber, stressed and a lot like a child who has far too many expectations on their shoulders. The Academy for her is more then a place to learn, it's an escape, a place that can be tiring at times, but is heaps better then her home life.

Busy days, not finishing something on time, her siblings misbehaving, all the pressure she has at home, being stressed, egg or potato salads, being reprimanded, not having freedom, plain yogurt, and her hair getting tangled

𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐅 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘

Ruth lives on her families farm, a small local place that is a mix of crops and animals. As the eldest of her siblings - Ruth aids her parents in tending to the animals and plants, while also minding her siblings. She's lived like that for as long as she can remember, and the workload only increases the older that she's become.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 

Rebecca Smithens; her mother. Ruth loves her mother, though their interests aren't exactly the same so most of their chatter is work or household related. Her mother does love her of course, though there have been a few fights with all the work on her shoulders.

John Smithens; her father. He initially hoped for a firstborn son, but isn't too mad about having a daughter. Ruth likes her father well enough, and he's taught her many important life skills. She appreciates all hes done, but wishes he didn't put so much onto her.

Scott Smithens; her younger brother. Quite rowdy, which annoys her. Ruth fusses at him quite a bit for his habit of working up the animals and being naughty. She knows he's just a kid though, and they do occasionally get along.

Ian Smithens; her second younger brother. Scott's twin brother. He was born with a few troubles as a baby, so he's not quite as hardy and tends to get sick easily. He's quiet as a result, but is equally mischievous at times. Ruth fusses at him too, and worries he may overexert himself.

Rachelle Smithens; the baby of the family, and spoiled to boot. Ruth likes her well enough, though finds her picky eating habits to be a nightmare when she cooks dinner. Still loves her sister though, and will give piggy back rides.

- Ruth knows a lot of random things taught to her by her father: how to change a tire, repair pipes, fix lamp fixtures and more. She's also a great hunter, and knows how to fish as well.

- Ruth's dad used to let her drive his old pick-up truck, and she does not have a license. It's typically short distances, like to the store and back.

- Ruth has a habit of fussing at others, and scolding them like kids. She will lick her thumb and clean someone's face, it's practically hardwired into her.

- Ruth has dreams of going on trips around the world when she's older. She knows it probably won't be possible, but she thinks about it anyway.

- her favorite animal on the farm is an old sow named Peachy. Peachy is not a Peach, but tends to be ever so slightly more docile when Ruth deals with her.

- Growing up in Scotland has given Ruth a thick Scottish accent. She also tends to use the slang from there in her everyday sentence, often without realizing it.
