Personality: Ylva was born to be a warrior from the beginning of her youth. Her mother was a former shield maiden and wanted that tradition to pass on to Ylva as she and Troels had tried for a son before and it had not work. So she holds the warrior spirit and can rally a group of men as well as any other chieftain. She has always been known for her generosity but also her short temper.

Backstory: Ylva was born the oldest of the children of her village's chieftain. Her parents received a prophecy saying she would be one one of the most fearsome and courageous warriors, even more than most men her age. When she reached age fifteen she began going on spring raids with her father and completed more than they had years prior. Far and wide she became known as a descendant of the valkyrie amongst the other clans. Now she rules her clan as the chieftain after her brother yielded and forfitted his rights in the line of succession.
