Backstory: Collin was born in Wexford, Ireland and was raised by his muggle father Vincent after his mother Caroline died when he was 2. Growing up, Collin was well taught in subjects from both the magical world (from books his mother had left for him) and the muggle world. When Collin was eight years old, his father, who was a sleazy used car salesman and a known con artist, began teaching him about something that would shape the rest of his life: the fine art of business. Vincent told his son that, especially as a wizard, the opportunities for making a profit were endless. It didn't matter what you were selling, who you were selling it to, or if it was "ethical" to sell it, if he wanted to be successful in life, he would have to be ok with getting his hands dirty and being a little bit cutthroat. Collin took this advice to heart when it was time for his first year at Hogwarts. He set up a secret black market item ring within the walls of the school. If somebody wanted something, no matter how dangerous or against the rules the item was, Collin would sell it to them for the right price, and if Collin didn't have what they wanted he would find a way to get it, whether that be by smuggling it in from outside Hogwarts or "borrowing" it from someone who did. Those who know him well enough have learned he is a greedy, swindling, thieving crook who isn't to be trusted, no matter how charming he pretends to be.
