PERSONALITY:

• MATURE
Newt has always been quite a mature person for his age however that has definitely grown in the past four years. He has certainly had his eyes opened to life and how easy and quick you can lose things. He appreciates the people he has around him and he has grown closer to a lot of people on the island, he would definitely risk his life to save the people he cares about. He loves to mess around with his friends, especially Luca, but overall he is mature and does get along with his life. He currently has a much better and less self deprecating outlook on life, he's quite good to give advice on things now as his outlook on life is a lot different to four years ago. He's gown up and he tends to just get on with life, he's happier and you can definitely tell- he's liked the peace of the last few years.

• INTELLIGENT
He is still a very intelligent person, he was glad that he brought plenty of books with him because he has still been able to learn and teach himself things. He always tended to be a person who would read factual books and that's it, but over the time period he had been reading a lot more non fiction books because of Ariadne. He actually quite liked them and it was definitely a form of entertainment throughout the years of being stuck on an island with the same people. He didn't mind of course, however the days did tend to feel repetitive if he didn't read something. Newt still loves to learn new things so he would learn whatever he could over the years. He was quite passionate about it and the others would certainly know about whatever book he just finished because he liked to talk and tell them about it.

• CHARISMATIC
Newt has become a very charismatic person. He recently has a certain charm about him, he's quite intriguing and he is a lot better to have a conversation with now. He's not sure what he would be like with new people considering he's been around the same people for so long, but with everyone on the island he was a lot friendlier and easier to have a conversation with. He still isn't very in touch with his emotions, so he doesn't often admit it, but he does care about them all and is there to help them if he can. Overall, Newt is just a lot more likable now however that may change when it comes to new people being introduced or conflict. He's still got a very intriguing aspect to him that is quite drawing. He's a lot more lovable an mischievous now, he's a young man but he still enjoys having fun when he can. He enjoys laughing with the others or teasing them about something stupid. He gets along with a lot more people now however he can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Caring for people is a weakness, he learnt that the hard way when he lost Caden and Bailey.

• PROTECTIVE
Throughout the last few years, he has become very protective, especially over Anna. After everything that happened a few years ago, he was so close to losing her that the possibility of that happening again was terrifying to him. So far it hadn't been that bad however they were safe on the island. In the back of his head he knew that this paranoia inside him would only grow and grow when they weren't safe. He couldn't lose anyone else, it took him a lot to truly care about someone and the thought of losing anyone else wouldn't even process in his mind. He wasn't completely sure on how he would act or feel when they were back to fighting Selene, however he had a feeling this paranoia and fear of losing the people he cares about would only grow.

• INTERNAL WITH HIS EMOTIONS
One thing that hasn't changed is the fact that Newt doesn't often talk about how he feels. He very rarely talks about Bailey and if he does it is usually only to Anna. He doesn't like it when she's brought up because he misses her, despite everything he just misses her and their friendship. He's still got hope that she will come back but the pessimistic side of himself is still there and it lets him know how naïve that is. He gets mad if people talk bad about her too, he tends to just walk away from the situation before he gets too mad. He doesn't like to show people when he is sad or mad about something, he feels like he should be strong for everyone considering they are all going through a lot. He's never been good at expressing his emotions or understanding them and that is certainly something that hasn't changed with time, if anything it has actually gotten progressively worse. He will occasionally talk to Luca and Anna but he even struggles with that now. He told Bailey everything, and right now she's gone.

• STUBBORN
As much as he is a lot easier to get along with now, he is still incredibly stubborn and it doesn't look like that will be changing any time soon. It is difficult to change his opinion on things unless there's genuine reason for him to do so. He can be terrible for holding grudges at times, especially if someone has genuinely hurt him. He also makes his grudges and stubbornness very clear to people around him, his stubbornness is one trait that he does not hide like he does his sadness. Basically, if you hurt him- he's probably going to remember it and he won't exactly hide his grudge...

BACKGROUND: (past four years)

• Over the past four years Newt has definitely realised what is important to him. He has improved quite a lot as a person as well as loosening up and being able to have fun when he can. Over the past four years he has been training, planning and building his relationships with others on the island. He and Anna were great, everything had been perfect on the island with them and it made him hopeful for the future. He was happy around her and had certainly loosened up, she balanced him out. He had also got a lot closer with Luca, they would often have fun and do stupid stuff together. He got closer with Ness, Juliet and many more people, his friendships were stronger and he had become a lot more social with this inner circle. He trusted Ness as they were similar in many aspects which is probably why their friendship grew over the time period.
Newt visits Cadens body every Monday afternoon. He talks to him and tells him about everything that happened the previous week as well as just talking to him. Just like they would when Caden was alive... It wasn't the same but it was something. He would also often ask Ace to help him collect flowers so he could replace them.
He helps the others where he was needed, doing certain chores, giving them advice and he actually tended to be the peace maker when arguments and fights broke out. Surprisingly, he was a good voice of reason. He actually enjoyed his time on the island, it was mostly peaceful which was a nice change for them. It felt like they had some stability for a while however he knew that wouldn't last long. Overall though, Newt had grown up. He was more mature in most aspect but he also loosened up and allowed himself to have fun and have closer friendships. He has definitely improved massively as a person and it really shows over the past few years. He's been happy however he has a feeling that will change when they don't have the safety of the island anymore. He still has his flaws and they are closer to the surface than he probably realises. But there's a difference now, he has many things to fight and care for.

STRENGTHS:

• He is intelligent, often he can still be pessimistic but he is also quite realistic. Most of the time he is quite good for making decisions based on what he thinks instead of letting his heart and emotions control him. He thinks most things through if he has the time to do so which can be good for planning things.

• Newt's powers have been getting stronger. He is getting better at controlling them, under circumstances where his emotions aren't high that is... He is good at using them and understanding them which will definitely be good for future battles. Considering metal seems to be everywhere, that is also a good advantage...

WEAKNESSES:

• Ariadne and Bailey are definitely his biggest weaknesses. Using them against him could probably kill him as he would definitely risk his life for either of them if need be. Love is weakness and Newt is very aware of that.

• He is stubborn, and terrible for it. If he trusts someone so strongly and then they hurt that, there comes a certain point where he will begin to go back to his fourteen year old self. Isolated and angry. It's hard to change his opinion and once it chances it can certainly be near to impossible to change again, unless it comes to someone he strongly cares about. He can be stubborn but he does have his weaknesses.

FEARS:

• Losing to Selene and losing Bailey is a huge yet obvious fear of his.

• His most intense fear is losing the people he cares about forever. He has already lost too much like his mother, Caden, Winston. He couldn't imagine how it would be to lose Bailey, Anna and his other friends too. He's scared of Anna losing her memories again and all the terrible things from four years ago repeating themselves. He's been scared to care about people for a long while, now he has let people in he's scared to lose them. Especially Anna since he has been so close to losing her before. He hasn't been great with sleeping over the last four years because he often has realistic nightmares of losing the people he cared for.
