MADISON ALICIA JONES

Street Rat

NAME|

• Madison Alicia Jones

NICKNAME|

• Maddie, Mads, Jones

BIRTHDAY|

• March 30th
Aries - confrontational, adventurous, assertive, fiery, ambitious, bold.

AGE|

• 17

GENDER|

• Female

SEXUALITY|

• Bisexual

PERSONALITY|

• SARCASTIC
Almost everything Madison says is sarcastic, followed by an eye roll. She has never been the type of girl to flutter her eyelashes and laugh along at jokes that she doesn't find even slightly amusing, no. Her walls are up and naturally she's learnt to combat most conversations with sarcasm.
Her sarcasm can not only be for humour purposes but a mixture of maliciousness too. She finds ways to push people's buttons in the worst ways possible and she finds it amusing.
Having even the slightest power over someone with a simple comment will never get old to her.

• FIERY
She may be a street rat but she can hold her own. She knows people are likely to mock her since they are in a higher ranking than herself, but listen here rich mafia boss children, living on the streets teaches you a thing or two.
She has a short temper and puts up with absolutely no crap from anyone. She doesn't care who you are, who your family are, what they do, what power you hold, if you piss her off she will not even attempt to hold her tongue.
Not only can she absolutely flip at someone with her words or bite someone's head off, she has no problem with throwing a punch. And a mean one at that.
Making comments on her background has absolutely no emotional affect on her on the outside, but she does see this as a challenge to put the person in their place, show them exactly what a girl from the streets can do.

• AMBITIOUS
Madison started out at life with absolutely nothing, not even a family. She is having to claw her way to the top and she had upmost faith that she will get there.
She may not have a family business of drug dealing or black market assassinations to inherit but she has something better. She's learnt first hand how to survive.
She doesn't necessarily want to be a criminal her whole life, but if that's what she needs to do to get to where she wants to be she has no problem in it.

The world is cruel, if the world can cheat her from the very start- why shouldn't she cheat it right back?

• MAJOR TRUST ISSUES
Her walls are up high. There's a lot of teenage angst and deep rooted insecurity buried inside of her and cemented into her personality.
She's stubborn, whenever she's come close to trusting someone she's been stabbed right in the back.
She doesn't open up and this is exactly why she's glad she never fully has. She doesn't trust people, doesn't trust that they won't use her deepest insecurities and secrets as ammunition against her one day.
Madison hasn't even had a proper friend for as long as she can remember. She's never had anyone due to her walls being so strong and high. She struggles to realise that maybe someone out there actually wants to give her a chance and genuinely wants to help her, deep down she feels like there's always going to be a catch or an ulterior motive.
Trusting doesn't come naturally to her.

• ARTISTIC
Something unique about her definitely includes how artistic she is, her brain works in ways she doesn't even fully understand herself.
She has a dream of one day being an actress, never having to worry about friends or money or having to fight to live. She's talented to say the least, maybe she got so accustomed to lying that it just developed into a talent of being able to act as anyone she wants to.
Maddie is very private when it comes to her more physical art work too. She has a passion for drawing but more so painting.
It's her outlet, often painting what she feels in some encrypted way with secret meanings and colours that represent different emotions.
To some extent she is quite insecure however on the outside she will appear very egotistical.
Being a perfectionist when it comes to her art has only developed over time however she does have a genuine love for it.

BACKSTORY|

[this is gonna be long I really don't know why I got so into this or why it was so elaborate but idk it rly explains why she is the way she is so PLEASE BARE WITH ME—
I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS A LOT]

Madison Jones has learnt that she has to fight for herself in this world. She only has herself, she has only ever had herself.

At birth, Madison was put up for adoption. Looking into her parents is a dead end, she doesn't know them, who they were, what they looked like, why they gave her up.
The only thing she got given to her in this world was her name, Madison Alicia Jones, and no one can take that away from her.

Usually babies are known to be more likely adopted than an older child, unfortunately she must have just got unlucky.
In and out of foster homes takes an expected toll on a kid. She first got adopted at the age of five to the Holmes family, she lived with them for a year until they decided a child was too much for them, returning her to the foster system like she was some faulty object they bought on a whim.

Around the age of 11 she got roped in with some older kids, the 'wrong crowd' per say. She began rebelling, soon running away from unloving foster families that she knew would never keep her. She never had a home, running away only to be brought back and every so often moved from house to house because she was 'too much' or 'not good enough'.

When she was age eleven she got adopted for the second and last time, due to the chances of Erin Montgomery conceiving a child being extremely low.
To find someone willing to take a chance on her and want to adopt her at eleven was shocking to say the least, but she was actually excited.
The Montgomery family adopted her, treating her as their own and allowing her to make mistakes and guide her. They were a wealthy, dream-like, stereotypical perfect family. She was at school, a healthy home life, she was a happy kid, after eight months even beginning to call Erin and Micheal Montgomery 'mum and dad'.

Great right?
Wrong.

After a year and a half of living with them and having what she thought was a perfect life, by some miracle, Erin Montgomery ended up pregnant. Twin boys.

Erin and Michael were ecstatic, Madison was happy for them too, excited to have two younger brothers. Nine months later, the boys were born. A couple months into the twins lives, she soon began to feel more pushed to the side. The family now had what they truly wanted, their own children, a perfect family they never thought they'd have.
All the attention was on the twins, constantly. At the age of fourteen she felt like she was back in a foster home, she began hanging out with the kids from her school that were more 'the wrong side of the track again', one night being pressured into doing drugs. With a desire to fit in and look cool, she did it.

Just her luck, the group of teenagers got caught by the police. Erin furious when he had to pick her up from the station, the two of them had been close, mostly when Madison was younger.
When they got home Michael was equally as angry, in a heated argument he said something he would live to regret.
'How am I meant to trust you now? You could have put mine and Erin's children in danger and my family is priority'.

This poor wording confirmed to her that they didn't see her as their child anymore, they got what they wanted.
She was, and always would be, just some kid they plucked from the foster system. It was 'their children' not her brothers, it was 'my family' not 'our family'.

The same night, Madison ran away, living as a fourteen year old girl on the streets of Scotland had its obvious challenges. She lived on the streets for months, eventually being caught by the police once again. She refused to go back to the Montgomery family, she was too stubborn.
From fourteen onwards she has never felt worthy of being loved. She never had a proper family, in and out of foster homes that usually only wanted her for the money benefits they'd gain. Not for her well-being.

Being in these uncaring households, she ran away a lot, most of the time managing to hide away on the streets for months at a time before being caught and taken to a new home. What was the point in foster homes now? At fifteen she gave up all hope of finding a family, she blew her shot, she knew she was too old now.

To survive on the streets she's had to learn how to steal, fight, and protect herself amongst other things.
At seventeen she ran away from her most recent foster family, stealing money from them and living on the streets for around five months without being caught. Over the years she's found drugs to be an outlet from time to time when she doesn't have the resources to paint, most specifically cocaine.

Once again she was plucked from the streets, but this time- not by the police- by an opportunity. A school.

What did she really have to lose?

FACE-CLAIM|

• Emma Roberts (I can't decide between blonde and brunette hair tho:') this is hard-)

STRENGTHS|

• Protecting herself in any way she deems fit. She's street-smart, knows how to take care of herself.

• As mentioned, Madison can fight. And God knows she throws a nasty hard punch.
Of course she had to master being strong to protect herself from creepy men amongst most.

• She's a strong, talented person. Despite life's challenges she is still pulling through. She has a lot going for her but she needs to play to her strengths in order to get somewhere in her life.

WEAKNESSES|

• Can rely on illegal substances as an outlet from time to time. She knows it isn't good for her but it's the one thing she doesn't have self control to say no for.

• Stubborn, trust issues, has one hell of an attitude. She can shut you down faster than the McFlurry machine at McDonald's can, and that's saying a lot because that thing always seems to be broken...

OPINIONS ON HER FOSTER FAMILIES|

• A lot of resentment to the adopted and foster families. Doesn't care for them as it's where a lot of her trauma growing up lies. The word 'family' really gets thrown around in the system, it's never been a family to her.

OPINIONS ON SCHOOL|

• Doesn't really care for being a criminal but whatever opportunity she has she may as well take and see where it leads her. Thinks all the ranking stuff is bullshit and she's more than happy to put people that try belittle her in their place.
Getting to finally have a place she can work on her art too also excites her despite her being private about her passions.
She also just misses the simple things that don't come as easy to her when she spends her time on the streets like being able to dress nicely and do her hair and makeup.

OTHER|

• She doesn't have your stereotypical street rat foster kid image, whatever the hell that is. She is surprisingly high maintenance so her background is far from obvious.

• Madison is ready to do what she has to. And of course cause a little chaos here and there because there had to be some fun around for her.
