➞ He was born in New York however he moved all around the states due to his fathers job. He's lived in places such as: Dallas, Miami, Ohio, Vegas, Colorado, and Minnesota. He's just moved to England with his dad and this will be his first year enrolling at this boarding school.

PERSONALITY||

➞ MISCHIEVOUS AND CUNNING|
JD is constantly getting into some sort of trouble however he rarely gets caught and punished. He gets up to bad things that can include drugs and fights amongst most- especially at school. Since he moves around quite a lot, schools don't kick him out, they don't need to. Before they know it, he's gone. They don't have time to. He has been excluded before but that's no surprise.
He doesn't get caught for things like drugs too often though, it tends to be fights since that is more inevitable, he's smart about what he does when it comes to his more shady stuff... Planning is good in advance of course however he has a talent for planning under pressure if need be. He's had a past with stealing, hence why he knows that about himself, however that was when he was a bit younger. He doesn't really have interest in that anymore.
Jason Dean is also an incredible liar, it's actually quite scary sometimes how easily something he's just made up on the spot can roll from his tongue. Lying comes very naturally to him and he does it way too often.
When you see him he seems incredibly laid back and chill however it's also perfectly normal for him to be doing something he shouldn't, somewhere. He doesn't need to do anything bad, no, but he's always liked the adrenaline from doing something he shouldn't- there's many reasons why he rebels out so often but that is one.
Sometimes he feels like he's above everything else and he won't have to face the consequences of his actions anyway.

➞ CHARMING|
As much as he can definitely be bad news, he has a charm about him that makes certain people feel drawn to him. With Jason Dean it's a case of loving or hating him, it's not common for people have a neutral opinion on him. He's got an odd character so it is expected for people to have strong views on him.
He's definitely attractive looking and if he wants to he can be incredibly nice, that probably plays a part in the charm. Commonly he is very closed off to other people (when it comes to talking about himself) however the people that do get to have a moment where they just sit and have a talk with him, it could last for hours. He tends to draw deep conversations naturally, it's never really something he intentionally gets onto but it happens. Maybe since his personality is usually very calm, excluding when fights start, it makes people feel fine with talking. He loves a good deep philosophical conversation, it interests him to almost see in the mind of other people. If he doesn't like you, believe me you'll know about it- but if he does he likes just talking with you, mainly listening on his part though.

➞ BAD INFLUENCE|
JD is aware that he is far from a good influence most of the time. He has an ongoing history with drugs, he smokes, sometimes drinks, and he's definitely slept around in the past. He wouldn't force anyone into the kind of things he does, he actually would rather they didn't get into the stupid shit he has, however just being around him can sometimes begin to rub off on people.
He knows his habits aren't good and he doesn't necessarily like them however he also has no intention of changing this life style.
JD is the type of friend that your parents would warn you about and not want you to have. He's manipulative and a good liar so a lot of adults actually just think he's calm and normal for the most part however he does that on purpose of course. That's just part of him being casually quite cunning. He knows adults knowing about what he gets up to could potentially get him in trouble, expect his dad... He doesn't really care what JD does.

A lot of the time people who are getting close to him won't realise that he can be a bad influence, this is because he isn't directly a bad influence to them. He won't tell you to do something that will get you in trouble however he will do whatever it is and make it seem so normal that people around him sometimes pick up similar behaviours or they my join in.

➞ NONCHALANT|
He's very calm and relaxed, every now and then this may be because he's high however that's not the case all the time. He's more sober than high actually, his natural personality tends to be laid back, unless someone pisses him off. He doesn't care about too many things, as long as it doesn't concern him or someone he cares closely about them he could not care less. He's casual and relaxed a lot of the time however this can make him seem very uninterested. He doesn't tend to display enthusiasm towards things, JD just appears to have no nerves but he's also just not too interested in a lot of things and he shows it.
He isn't the type of person that will be amazing to talk about when it comes to your passion, if it's not a passion he shares or something he's intrigued by he will usually look very apparently not interested. However, he is very interested in learning peoples background as well as their views and opinions on things.
He's a great liar, yes, but he isn't the type of person to lie just to protect your feelings. If he's really not interested he'll just tell you.
JD is usually calm and relaxed however if you do make him angry, which tends to be by hurting someone he cares strongly for, he is almost dangerous to be around. It's weird how he can go from his usual calm self to being crazy level angry- but hey, at least he sticks up for himself and people he cares for, right..?
He's got in plenty of fights from school to school, he's always the 'new kid' since he moves so often and sometimes that makes him a target for bullies. However, that doesn't last long because he doesn't let it. JD will stick up for himself and potentially give you a nasty bruise or cut in the process.

➞ MANIPULATIVE|
One of Jason Deans most notable qualities definitely has to be that he can be incredibly manipulative at times. Now, this isn't always the case of course, but he's good at controlling people in a way that will benefit him.
He actually doesn't actively go out of his way to do this, a lot of the time he doesn't even realise (unless he actually is doing it on purpose of course). Relationships with him can tend to be intense and could easily turn toxic if they are not with the right person. He doesn't always realise how he is, he doesn't often care for people strongly however when he does he has a deep rooted fear of abandonment- hence why he acts out sometimes as he's scared of losing these people. Does it make it right? Nope.

As much as he has a lot of troubles and bad qualities, is he really a bad person? That tends to be up for debate. Deep down he's more scared than he will ever show or admit, he's troubled and that's apparent. He definitely isn't the whole 'misunderstood' character however there's explanation for why he acts the way he does sometimes.
He isn't always like this of course- most of the time he is just relaxed and seems like any other normal, sarcastic teenage boy.

➞ INTRIGUING|
There's so many layers to his personality that people often find him quite intriguing. He is an attractive guy who has a charm about him however it's also clear to see he has his own problems and flaws beneath the surface- but doesn't everyone?
Whatever it is, people often want to know more about him since he is very much a closed book. He much prefers to get to know things about other people and listen to them than talk about himself. He doesn't like talking about his own issues, if he does he must really trust you. Then again would it really matter if he spoke about his own issues? His dad decides to move so often that realistically it wouldn't affect him too much in the long run.
A lot of the time his witty, sarcastic comments and nature can just make people intrigued to know more about him. But again, he'd rather listen to what other people have to say. Again, he also finds people quite interesting. How their views, backgrounds, and personality differ often based on experiences. Weirdly enough, it's interesting to him.

BACKGROUND||

➞ JD had quite a dark childhood to say the least...
Growing up everything was pretty normal, on the outside his parents seemed happy and everything was fine. At the start he grew up like most other children.
His father owns a construction company however they demolish things mainly. When he was twelve, he was with his father at work and later on in the day he and his dad discovered his mom had committed suicide.
Her death was ruled off as an 'accident' but it was clear to JD and his father that it was far from such, he always says she knew what she was doing. He doesn't like to go into the details of how it happened however losing a parent is hard for anyone, especially in such a way and when he was so young. He was also very close with his mom when she was alive.

That alone was a lot for a twelve year old to understand and process, unfortunately his dad definitely didn't help. He never really acted like a parent and their relationship was very odd. His dad was mainly just involved with his work and he could be really irresponsible. Another reason JD doesn't often face the consequences to his actions (like substance abuse and him getting into fights) is because his dad just genuinely doesn't care what he's doing. He tends to just shrug it off like 'boys will be boys' even though it's a very irresponsible way to raise a 'troubled' teenager.

JD doesn't dislike his father or anything however he doesn't really like him either, they don't have the typical father, son relationship at all. He's somewhat comfortable around him however he knows his dad is honestly just a dîck.
The lack of care is definitely somewhat emotionally abusive. It's clear Mr Dean shouldn't have had a kid, they act more like people who just put up with living under the same roof for whatever reason. The two of them only really talk about his dad's work since it's the centre of his dads life.
In a way JD lives a pretty 'free' life style, he can go wherever he wants, whenever he wants and he doesn't have anyone to tell him no.

He has an odd background and family dynamic to say the least. It's not something he often tells people obviously however it is an explanation for why he acts out sometimes. In his opinion, it could be way worse with his dad. He's very nonchalant when it comes to his past, he has never known anything different anyway.

JD was also diagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) at age 15, it does affect him, how he acts, and his relationships with other people- however it is something about himself that he just does not tell people. To him, he doesn't think it is anyone's business, not to mention it sounds like some sort of excuse in his opinion. It is just something he would rather stay private about.

He's moved from high school to high school and he just doesn't like them. One thing he hates the most are bullies, moving to England could be a new start- but how many 'new starts' has he had by now?
Either way, his dad had a bigger work job in England so maybe they would actually settle here. Or maybe not, he'll see soon enough.

HOBBIES||

➞ Travelling isn't necessarily a hobby since he didn't really choose it, however he does like to explore these new places. There are positives and negatives to moving so much, one of the positives is that he gets to see different places and he thinks it's interesting. He likes architecture so if you offer to show him a cool old building, he's there.

➞ He likes photography. Another positive to moving so often is that he has hundreds of pictures of beautiful places. England is completely new to him though so he's somewhat excited.

➞ He plays some instruments however he is mainly a bass player. Instruments he likes tend to be different types of guitars but he is best at bass or electric.

➞ If he see's someone being bullied he will often step in. He can be protective, sometimes even when it comes to people he doesn't even know. He will stick up for people if he thinks he should and he won't put up with anyone's shit.

WEAKNESSES||

➞ He puts up walls so he doesn't get too close to people but when he does get close, he gets emotionally attached and insecure about being left.

➞ At times he can jump to confrontation too quickly and get defensive. This usually occurs when it involves someone he cares about as he can get protective.

➞ Any sort of close relationship with him can be intense. He needs people that balance him out to avoid it potentially getting toxic.
