Personality: Rayne is a free spirit. He's very outgoing and open minded as well. He loves meeting new people and has no problem getting along with just about anyone. He's the type of person/friend you would go to if there was something bothering you and you wanted to talk about it. He's good at knowing when something is bothering someone and he's an excellent listener. His bubbly personality just helps with that. Because of these traits he's somewhat of a natural leader though he'd never admit that. He's perfectly content with being there for people even if it means he doesn't really have time to talk about his own issues. He can be extremely protective of those he loves which is both a good and bad thing. Though, there is a side of him he doesn't usually show. It takes a lot to get him angry but when he is angry he is a force to be reckoned with. He gets a little out fo control especially when he's mad which is a major flaw. That is why he has trained himself to be patient with the help of his parents. He doesn't usually get angry unless it is something extremely serious.

Scars: He has two moderately sized faded scars on each side of his hip from his incident. When he changes his legs to his tail there are patches of scales missing from each side of his hip. There are also faded scars on the palms of his hands.

Backstory: Rayne was born into a peaceful family. When he was around 2 his baby sister was born which only made his parents happier. He grew up on land with his family but every year they took a trip to the ocean and spent a week exploring and "camping" in the ocean as a way to teach him and his sister, River, about their heritage. The cool temperature of the water never usually bothered him because he grew up with short summers and long winters and therefore enjoyed the cold more. When he was around 15 however there was an accident during their annual ocean trip. Rayne had been exploring and wandered a bit too far from his family only to end up lost. The ocean was big enough with his family but it was huge without them. He searched for them desperately but had no luck. To add on to his problem he eventually noticed a great white shark swimming above him. He normally wouldn't be afraid but he was alone and vulnerable so he tried to hide. He found a rock formation and decided to try and hide in a small crevice until the shark passed by. He waited a few minutes and when it was gone he tried to get out only to realize that he was stuck. He tried not freak out but he felt like he would never be able to get out. He was terrified he'd die there. He ended up spending around and hour stuck before his sister found him and alerted their parents. They tried to calm him down and eventually got him out but the damage had already been done. He had rubbed the sides of his hips raw from struggling so much which also permanently rubbed away some of his scales. He had also accidently cut his hands in the process of trying to escape. He hasn't really been the same since the incident but he tries to live without his phobia controlling him. His parents suggested Nightshade Academy to him and he thought it'd be a good place to learn get to know other supernaturals his age.

His coloration means that he was built and adapted for the deep sea which makes sense since that's where his parents had them get familiarized with their powers.  Plus his parents both grew up in the ocean.
