backstory: kendra was an average girl who lived in the town of berk. she was no astrid, but was pretty good at training to kill dragons. she was best friends with hiccup and refused to abandon him, even when the others begged her to join them. she always supported hiccup, especially since she understood what it was like to only have one parent. her father had been killed by a skrill when she was only 2, and she lived in a small cabin with her mother and dog.
when hiccup discovered riding dragons was better than killing them, he was no longer an "outcast". kendra was happy for him but was also jealous of how astrid was suddenly all over him. she hated to admit it but she had slight feelings for her best friend. eventually dragon riding became a thing and kendra joined hiccups group of dragon riders with her dragon, ashwing. she had gotten ashwing when hiccup needed to save toothless. ashwing was one of the many dragons the kids used for practice.
