Jasmine was placed in an orphanage at the age of 6. Their she met Steo and his younger brother. They became best friends and each had a locket shaped as a duel monsters card that contained a picture of all of them together.

Steo and his brother were adopted before her. She wasn't adopted until she was about 14, she didn't start going to school with Yugi until she was 15. So she hadn't seen Seto in years but she still had a crush on him that never went away so she never dated anyone wanting Seto to be her first boyfriend.

Anyways after she was adopted she was given the millennium earrings(something i made up). With the earrings she is the host for the spirit Yami Jasmine also known as alyasimin in Ancient Egypt.
