Ashton has shaggy blond synthetic hair, light blue eyes and pale synthetic skin. His body has a thick layer of a synthetic material that heavily imitates human skin to the touch. He almost always wear a white three quarter length shirt with a belt, grey trousers and dark shoes with his hair held back by a clip. However, whenever he gets the opportunity, he much rather likes to wear more colourful clothes with his fringe not clipped back and a tiny ponytail.

Ashton was a robot initially made for various purposes, mainly cosmetics and household chores. Over time, an AI was developed for him that matched a human's level of intelligence and was also implemented with a self-learning AI. This allowed for Ashton to develop opinions, behaviours and a personality. However, given how advanced he was for a robot, the military took notice and was allowed to be repurposed as a military robot. They were initially unaware of how his AI had developed, though noticed scraps of code that they didn't care to remove. They alternatively added in other code, such as small things to note of humans to tell that they were lying, to make him better for military and police use. However, as the previous code was also written in an unorthodox manner which meant even removing a small bit of it could be problematic (as they didn't know what quite did what), they simply decided to have him monitored for signs of autonomy.

Ari was a robot developed after Ashton, specifically created for military uses. She was designed as an attack bot, her primary purposes being to impair a person or remove them if they became too problematic. She was designed as a small girl in a pink dress to be confusing, as seeing such a person approach and then randomly reveal guns hidden in her limbs would be startling and confusing. She is observed for autonomy like Ashton is.
