Asher was born in England, living there for a while before moving to Japan with his family. He often found himself at the top of the class or near the top, possessing great intelligence. He generally kept to himself, dabbling in mind games. However, something sparked inside of him when he caught wind of the Kira case. He did well on his own to figure out as much as he could with the information he had, sometimes stalking people to find out what item it was that killed people; he wanted to use it himself. He never managed to get it, though.
