Kora has an exhausted sort of sarcasm. While she is full of bright smiles and airy laughs, her jokes tend to come out as lazy drawls with little motivation behind them. Her schedule is hectic, but Kora gets through it solely by her optimistic attitude— the weekly phone call from parents checking on her grades has nothing to do with it at all, nothing.

It would be a pretty scary scenario if a future anesthesiologist had a temper. Fortunately, Kora doesn't, or at least she isn't brash about it. She addresses her anger with a level
-head, perhaps some fuming, but not an offensive word most likely. If anything is bound to set it off, it would be an accusation of her being lazy. Or of course, homophobic, genderphobic, racism, sexism or fascism as a general premise of a comment.

↬ Discipline ↫

Taking orders? Not so much for Kora, she despises being told what to do. More than likely to the point of being spiteful to the point of doing the opposite of what was requested. However, her self-discipline is phenomenal. She forces herself to study even though it means another all-nighter, she's always on time to her jobs, her schedule is rigorous. It just requires a lot of caffeine with it.

Kora definitely has a determination to rival most. When set on a goal, she desires to achieve it with all her being. In addition, she happens to excel in biochemistry, specifically in human anatomy. As to be expected of course for the medical school student.

↬ Weaknesses ↫

Her determination is a double edged sword. Kora doesn't know when to quit, in a race, she would rather pass out than simply take a break. Otherwise, she cannot draw. Absolutely not for the life of her. Kora has taken lowered grades simply because of how atrocious her abilities are in artistry.

↬ Drive/dreams ↫

Kora's current goals are to graduate medical school, complete her residency and hopefully become an anesthesiologist at some point. It emulates the general direction of her parents, one being a radiologic technologist and the other a former pediatric surgeon. But on a more personal level, Kora desires the sort of storybook life with a husband and perhaps children.

Though she would probably never admit it, Kora is afraid of prescription medication. Not on the basis of being bad for her health, but at potentially developing an addiction to whatever substance has been recommended. Another fear of Kora's is potentially failing medical school, or being kicked out of her residency, or any failure of hers that prevents her from achieving her dreams.

Kora certainly has a liking for a science, having majored in cellular biology. Coffee is definitely her favorite beverage, drinking an unhealthy amount of it to help her through exams and double shifts. But even more than her coffee, Kora loves to sleep.

While Kora can appreciate art, she loathes being assigned to do it. She also has a distaste to a good deal of salty, starchy foods, like packaged ramen, crackers or chips. In addition, Kora has absolutely no tolerance for bitter foods.

Kora's soft spot is probably for her siblings. Being the eldest in the house for awhile made her sort of the caring figure when the parents were out of the house. She would give up the world for them, really.

As a self-proclaimed optimist, Kora tries not to be sad as best as possible. However thinking of her mother's former addiction is always a depressing topic for her.

Free time as a medical student, researcher and teachers assistant is unlikely. However if provided, Kora likes to read. She has a particular interest in philosophical topics, with authors like Kant, Hobbes or Simone De Beauvoir. Otherwise Kora enjoys going on a baking spree if she can.

Kora's primary talent lies in her abilities in anatomy. Particularly as she continues to study to be an anesthesiologist. However she does have a "secret" talent of baking when given the appropriate ingredients. Little of her recipes are original, but Kora knows how to make slight improvements that make them all the more delicious.

Kora primarily dedicates her time to being a medical students. In addition, she is a teacher's assistance for a biology class at the university she used to attend. And even more she is a researcher of painkiller interactions with the human mind.

Kora was born into a happy household of four. Her parents were doting, though frequently off and away with their busy occupations. Though she never found that she minded. With a sibling a decade her senior, a babysitter was already assigned. Kora wasn't particularly close to Xavier, he was always seen as an authority figure in her opinion. When their parents weren't home, it was him who pressured Kora to study and redo her notes until they were organized satisfactorily. Elementary school wasn't filled with the sort of lighthearted fun that most would expect. Buy the expectations were always different with two parents working as a doctor. Once Kora was eight, Xavier confessed that he wasn't entering the medical field. Instead, enrolling in culinary school to become a pasty chef. The pressure increased then, Kora being swarmed with extra online classes, more books to read, more homework to do. And yet it was never enough.

When Kora was thirteen, her Mom ended up in a car accident. It was minor, really. A rear ending that left an imprint of the seatbelt seared into her skin. They spent a day or two in the ER, checking vitals over and over again to verify her health. The final diagnosis simply being pain medication, hydrocodone, taken here and then as needed. Kora didn't notice how often her Mom took the medication, she didn't notice the rather frequent returns home with a purse full of the little orange bottles. However, she noticed the slur of her Mom's tongue, the sudden mood swings, the increased number of naps. It was strange that her Dad didn't, not until she brought it up. Soon enough, her Mom wasn't seen for a month, their Dad needing to do double shifts to assure the many bills could still be paid. Suddenly, Kora was to her younger siblings what Xavier was to her. Except there were three. High-school was a blur of parents working overtime and her Mom going in and out of treatment centers. It was a mess really, yet Kora managed to enter the top college in the area. The estimated total of loans made their family wince, but by sophomore year Kora had two stable jobs and was achieving nothing aside from As. It was a mess, it was a blur but she was on the path to success.
