It was the end of the day and was walking out of school. I see Alex coming towards me and I pick up my skateboard.

"Delilah, I'm sorry. I seriously forgot" She says and I smile.

"It's fine Alex. I'm the one who overreacted. I'm sorry" I say and she pulls me into a tight hug.

"Hey! I want you to come meet Jaxon" She says and starts to pull me towards Mason's car.

I see Mason and someone else with their back to me. They seem to be arguing.

"They need to get off of my territory" Mystery guy says.

"It's not yours yet" Mason argues back.

"Guys" Alex says snapping them out of their own world. Mystery guy turns around and I'm met with the bluest eyes I've ever seen. He has dirty blond hair that spills over onto his forehead. His eyes soften when he see us.

"Delilah, this is Jaxon. Jaxon this is Delilah" Alex introduces us.

"Hi" I say and give a slight wave.

"H-Hey" He stutters. I smile and he smiles too.

"Well, I better get going. I have to go to work. Hey! Mason, are coming today? If not I can take over" I offer. He nods

"I should be" He says and smiles.

"Alright! Well Jaxon it was nice meeting you!" I say and hop on my skateboard. I hurry home, but when I get there no one is there. I walk in and see a note on the table.

Delilah,

Hayden and I are gonna be out of town for a few days. We went to the grocery before we left. Mom told me to tell you that she has to work all weekend. She is just going to spend the night at the hospital. So enjoy the house to yourself!

I wonder where they went. Actually no I don't. I walk over to the counter and pick up an apple. I grab my keys and head out to go to work.

Once I get there I see Mason is already here. I walk in and set my skateboard by the door.

I walk towards the counter when I hear a low growl. I freeze. I grab the mail opener off of the front desk and hold it up. I feel like one of the stupid girls in a horror movie.

I hear the growl again. I walk into the back and then I hear a low pur. What? I move around the corner. What I see is Mason and Alex making out against a wall. Mason has her lifted up with her legs around his waist. I look down at my hand and see the mail opener. I black out for a few seconds. When I hear Alex shout my name.

"Delilah!" I snap out of my trance and look at her.

The mail opener is in the wall right above her head. Mason snaps his head to look at me and I swear his eyes turn blue.

"What the hell was that?!" He growls and charges after me.

He wraps his hand around my neck and lifts me so my feet are no longer touching the ground. I can't breathe and I look over at Alex just to see her watching with wide eyes. I hear a louder growl and Mason's eyes soften. Jaxon walks in and Mason cowers like a little puppy. I fall to the ground and gasp for breath. Jaxon comes towards me, but I hold my hand out and I cower.

"Don't touch me" I say and make a awful attempt to stand up.

I'm finally able to stand up when Jaxon wraps his arm around my waist and hoists me up. He helps me walk over to a table and lifts me onto it. He looks at me and smiles, but it looks pained. He walks back towards Mason and Alex. I jump down dizzily and walk towards the front door. I remember that the dogs need fed so I walk back. I head towards the dog food slowly and lift the container up. I slowly feed each dog and they look at me gratefully. I hear someone walk behind me and I turn around. It's Alex. She just stands there and stares at me.

"What?!" I yell. She flinches and starts to talk.

"I'm so sor-"

"What is he doing to you? Ever since he came to this god-forsaken town you've been distant and not the Alex I knew" I interrupt and hold my hand up. She stands there when Mason walks in.

"Delilah I'm so sorry. I just lost my temper when you threw the mail opener, that I just lost it" He apologizes.

"It's fine. I don't even remember throwing the opener anyways" I say and look down at my hands.

"I've only known a few people who could do that" He says and looks at me in awe.

"I don't know what possessed me to throw it. It's was just like... I don't know. I saw you and Alex and then I just blacked out" I say and look up. Jaxon had come into the room and was staring at me very intently.

"You mean you don't remember anything?" Alex asks.

"No" I softly reply. I see Jaxon shake his head.

"What?" I ask him and he starts to leave.

"Nothing" He says and walks out. Mason looks at Alex and I and chases after him.

Mason's POV

I go after Jaxon and he is heading towards his car.

"What's wrong?" I ask. He turns around and he has a stone expression

"She's a hunter" He says.

"What? Wait how do you know?" I ask him confused.

"People just don't know how to precisely throw a sharp object. Did you see how close that was to Alex's head?" He reasons.

"She said she blacked out. She obviously didn't know what she was doing" I say and look to make sure no one was listening.

"Which means she has some type of hunter blood in her. She clearly wasn't raised in a hunter household, or she would've sniffed us out before we even got here" He said and looked behind me. His face softened and I turned around. Alex was standing there with a confused expression.

"What's a hunter?" She asked. I look at Jaxon and he nods.

"It's someone who hunts werewolves" I say and she shakes her head.

"Delilah couldn't be one. She'd never even hurt a fly. Ok maybe a fly, but she would never kill a person" She says and Jaxon looks at her.

"Do you know her parents?" He asks and she nods.

"Yeah, well her mom. I've never met her dad. Her mom left him when Delilah was little. She says he was too caught up in his work, never had time for them" She says making hand motions.

"What did her dad do?" I ask and she shrugs her shoulders.

"I don't know. I don't even think Delilah knows" She says I see her eyes start to water. I walk over to her and wrap her in my arms.

"What's the matter beautiful?" I whisper in her ear.

"If Delilah is a hunter does that mean she will try to kill us again?" She asks her voice shaky.

"Not if we can help it. Now, I'm gonna take you home. Let me go tell Delilah" I say and smile.

She smiles and nods. She walks over to the passenger side of the car and hops in. I look at Jaxon and he has his back turned towards me. I walk over and I see his eyes are watery.

"What's up man?" I ask and clap my hand on his shoulder.

"She's a hunter. My mate's a hunter" She says and I look at him shocked. Delilah's his mate? Before I can ask him about it he walks away and hops on his bike. I walk in the shelter and see Delilah filling up the water bowls.

"Hey, I'm gonna take Alex home. Is that alright?" I ask and she nods.

"Yeah I'll finish up here" I nod and walk outside and get in my car. I look over at my beautiful mate and smile. I start the car and lay my hand on her thigh. Her hand closes over mine and she smiles.

Delilah's POV

I lock up the shelter since Mr. Newton wasn't there and start on my way home. I lay my skateboard down and ride in the street. I don't put my headphones in like I normally would, so instead I just listen to the crickets.

I'm about a block away from the shelter, when I hear something crack behind me. I stop and turn around. All I'm met with is a empty, dark street. I look around one more time before I start to get on my skateboard. This time I hear the crack and a snarl. I turn around again and I'm met with a giant black wolf. It's yellow eyes are staring at me dangerously. It bares its teeth and I whimper.

It jumps at me and I fall. It's standing over me growling at me. I look around and my skateboard is right beside me. I try to reach for it when it puts a large paw against my chest and pushes. It knocks the wind out of me, but I still reach for the board. My fingers are barely touching it when It's teeth come close to my throat. I finally reach it and wrap my fingers around the side of the board. I swing it around and hit it on the side of the head. It lets out a loud howl, and I stagger to get up.

I'm finally able to stand and I dash for back towards the shelter. I can hear the thump of paws behind me, which causes me to run faster. I feel a searing pain go through my ankle and I look down to see it has it's jaws around my leg. I let out a loud scream, and it growls. I rip my ankle out of it's teeth and limp towards a large branch. I pick it up and swing it just in time for it to hit the wolf.

I do my best to run to the shelter. Once I'm finally there, I reach into my pocket for the keys. When I reach in I don't feel anything. They must've fallen out in the road. I make my way around to the back and see a pair of scissors, and I clutch them in my fist. My ankle gives out and I fall against the brick wall.

I hear a dangerous growl and see a dark figure come from behind the wall. It charges at me and I jam the scissors towards the wolf. It lets out a loud, long howl and runs away. I try to catch my breath, when I reach into my other pocket for my phone and realize that it must've fallen out also. I slowly get up and walk back into the road cautiously. I see my phone and pick it up, and I fall down. I dial Alex's number and it rings a few times before she answers.

"Hello? Mason stop. Mason! I said stop it! Now stop! Hello?" I hear her voice on the other end of the phone.

"Alex? I-I need your h-help" I stutter. The pain coming from my ankle is almost unbearable.

"Delilah? Delilah what's wrong? Where are you?" She asks frantically.

"I'm down the road from the shelter" I answer.

"Kay. Um don't move, Mason and I are coming" She says and I give a weak laugh.

"Yeah I can assure you I'm not going anywhere" I say and she laughs.

"Alright, Mason and I will be there in a minute. Bye" she says and hangs up.

I sit there in the middle of the road. I'm glad this isn't a busy road or I'd be roadkill. I try not to focus on the pain coming from my ankle. I look down and see a puddle of blood around it and I start to freak out. My vision becomes blotchy, so I lay down. After a few minutes I hear the sound of a car come my way.

Before I can look to see if it is them or not I black out.
