As we drive down Main Street
And see couples young and old,
I smile to myself and think how beautiful the night is;
Full of romantic moments for all and stories to be told to their children or friends or to be kept forever; picture perfect in their memories.
Something very moving...until the phones come out.
Gotta catch em all,
Not catch a perfect moment's kiss.
Gotta find the rare Pokemon,
Not the rare words of unique creativity that only come once and while from the heart.
Gotta buy eggs at the pokestop,
Not eggs from a dainty breakfast restaurant for the two of you to share and smile and get to know each other.
You lie to yourselves and say,
"We bond over Pokemon go."
When you should be bonding over the starlight and the words you guys share about your lives or who you are.
You stare at your phone screens...
And not into each others' eyes.
And what of when you guys get married (perhaps)?
Will you "catch em all" on your honeymoon that you payed a fortune for?
Or enjoy the once in a lifetime vacations' meaning?
Will you enjoy the company of a Pikachu
And not that of the one you say is or call "your loved one"?
Put the phone app away
Or rather electronics like that in general on a date
And enjoy them
Because if your phone is really that important to you,
Or the Pokemon mean so much,
Then maybe your date isn't as important to you as you think they are
And perhaps you should break up with them to go
"Catch em all"

Author's note: don't get me wrong. I've heard the app is really fun and it can be cool and efficient in your life in moderation but it seems when I went down main street that every couple's date was catching Pokemon together on that stupid app and the stars were out and it was a beautiful day outside; not to hot or too cold and there were so many other better things they could've been doing together. Just think and put the phones away on the date and enjoy your partner, k? :) that's all for now my wattpadlings! It's been a great day so don't get me wrong =^w^=
