Valentines for friends

a day about spreading love

a day some curse 

that should be as peaceful as a dove

Valentines is about spreading the love

not hating on the ones in it.

Tell your friends how much ye appreciate them

And i'll be sure to do my part

by saying how much i appreciate all of ye! 

But the saddest of all,

gray skies rolling in on this day,

not because of the lack of a valentine

but the lack of the ability to communicate with my valentine just how much i love him

not because of a lack of words

but a lack of resources to say what i want to say

time is fleeting, surreal and like money

but if there's anything i've realized,

it's that the difference between time and money 

is that i actually own time.

the truth is always truth no matter what or whom turns away from it.

The gray skies and cloud block out my sunlight

but doth the sun not continue shining?

and hey, i'm still smiling

because no matter what tries to contradict it,

the truth is the sun will still shine.

I am in aphelion, 

far away but still in orbit

and eventually, even if it shall take forever in my mind, 

i will come back around and be warm and close to the sun.

Oh April won't ye come sooner?

That i may feel the warmth of spring radiating my skin 

and igniting the flame of optimistic thoughts in my heart.

I miss him;

the sun shining brightly 

and one of these days when the clouds clear,

I shall see him once again.

Time is running out,

hope i've given insight to what Valentine's Day is all about.
