SolarSparkle joined in the middle of Berry-Berry town square, along with several other new players.

"Hello there!" spoke an NPC "You must be new here. I'm Margret, and I'll show you around town. Follow me!!!". She said, before setting of at a slow pace.

Sol realised that walking in the game was a simple as walking in real life, just one foot in front of the other. She was soon running alongside Margret and the rest of the new players.

Sol was so busy looking at the beautiful fantasy world, that she didn't pay much attention to the guide, too focused on all the colours and vibrancy, compared to the drab grey of the 'real' world.

James, however, was quickly jotting down a basic map of the town and soaking up Margret's words like a sponge. He would need this information, especially if he was going to survive whatever introduction System had in plan for him.

Margret touched on important subjects, like the different types of skills and spells – acted and learnt. Learnt skills and spells were obtained through normal RPG methods – e.g. levelling up, attached to armour and equipment, spell-books and the like. ≪Oblivion≫, for example, is a learnt spell. Acted skills and spells, however, are obtained by doing said skill/spell. For example, you can get a roundhouse kick skill by successfully round-housing enemies, or from reading the technique form written texts in special types of spell-books, like some of the spells where you draw your own Magic Circle. The terms skills and spells are generally interchangeable, with most spells having a mana cost.

Margret also touched on stats – Strength, which increased physical damage and health; Agility, which increased attack speed and movement speed; Endurance, which increased stamina and physical defence; Intelligence, which increased magic damage and mana supply; and Wisdom, which increased magic defence and mana recharge. The right balance of all stats was key to a good character.

With Margret's tour nearly over, she looked at the group, and said, "I've misplaced my handbag somewhere in the woods, could one of you please retrieve it for me?"

Seeing the quest, and determined to obtain the reward first, Sol rushed into the forest, searching for the handbag.

She came across a rabbit in the forest and went to pat it. The rabbit, now enraged, proceeded to attack Sol

Caught totally unawares, Sol took the first three hits from the Wabbit, each doing around 5 damage. Sol took the time to look at her own stats.

While Sol was doing this, the Wabbit took care of the last of her health.

Rachel took of her PLAYGear, surprised at her death. "I didn't know they hit that hard." Rachel commented.

"Yeah, it's partly the difference in levels, and partly you're still level 0." James replied. "Well, we could use this time to have breakfast".

"Good idea!" Rachel agreed, and they both returned to the dining table for breakfast.

30 minutes and a full belly later, Rachel was ready for round two.

She returned to her room and put the PLAYGear back on. James gave her some 'helpful' advice: "Next time, remember to attack."

SolarSparkle was ready for payback. Rushing into the forest for a second time at kill the Wabbit and retrieve Margret's handbag.

James' voice interrupted her mad dash. "Can you enable streaming?" he asked, wanting to watch his sister's progress. He had plenty of pointers to help her currently but thought that the lessons would stick better if she learnt them herself.

SolarSparkle's livestream came up in his feed, so he started watching.

Sol was running through the forest, when she came across her nemesis again. Another Wabbit, this time level two.

She started with an attack: "≪Light of Glory≫!" she shouted, alerting the Wabbit. Unfortunately for her, ≪Light of Glory≫ was not an attacking spell, instead one that boosted Strength and Intelligence by 2.

Surprised by the spell, the Wabbit got a hit in, Sol's hp dropping by 3. Sol then used ≪fireball≫, hitting the Wabbit for 5 damage.

Sol and the Wabbit started trading hits, though the Level 2 Wabbit's 40 health outlasted Sol's 20.
