Nova looked at the edges of the forest for the flower he was looking for: one that looked like daisy, except it had deep blue petals. Appropriately named "Bluebloom", this flower, along with goo and holy water, was an essential ingredient in making mana potions, of which James had a large requirement for. He finally found a few, four to be precise, and stored them in his bag, and set into a new rhythm of attacking slimes and picking Bluebloom.

An hour of grinding later, Nova decided that he was sufficiently prepared to take revenge on HappyStabby.

He found the forest's main path, and followed it towards the town, picking up flowers as he went. He found a new stick, but instead of using it during his fights with slimes, and now, Wabbits, Nova practiced wielding the sword he got from the guards, which coincidently happened to be named a "Crim Reaper". Guards and their jokes.

Nova found HappyStabby, standing in the middle of the path, back facing away, looking for new targets. His name was red.

Nova tiptoed up to him, and faithful stick in hand, poked HappyStabby's back. Hard.

"Who was that?" HappyStabby demanded, spinning on the spot.

Nova was standing there, and poked HappyStabby two more times, ignoring him.

"OI!" HappyStabby shouted, brandishing his daggers.

"Sorry, smiles, couldn't quite hear that" Nova taunted, poking HappyStabby one more time.

HappyStabby had had enough, and used his daggers to break Nova's stick.

Nova began dodging Happy's wave of attacks. He snuck behind Happy, pulled off Happy's wolf cloak, and punched him in the back.

Happy had had enough. He threw one of his daggers at Nova's face, point-blank range.

Nova caught it, and ≪Slashed≫ Happy's torso, then taunted "Smiles wants his toy back? Smiles sad?"

This made Happy mad, so mad, that he learnt the Berserker's Enrage. Surrounded by an orange glow, eyes fiery, Happy began a one-dagger rush of attacks.

Nova narrowly dodged each one.

Nova then casually took the Crim Reaper from his bag, and Happy's eyes flashed in recognition. In his previous run-through, he had died to a similar sword many times.

"This is the Crim Reaper." Nova said, twirling the sword around.

Happy asked, "Why?", because it was clear that Nova came here to kill him.

"You killed my newbie of a sister." Nova replied, with the finishing blow.

No Punishment due to player's crimes, a killstreak of 24. You have completed the requirements for a bounty quest in the Adventurer's Guild.

Time to find SolarSparkle.

Nova put the items in his bag and followed the path all the way back to the town. Before he came in sight of the guards, he went to the edge of the river, and found some white clay, and smeared it all over his body, and put more into his inventory for later.

The clay was a disguise, a part of the game which hid usernames of players, although there was risk, as if the disguise was broken, you received a vulnerable debuff, which reduced defence, and increased the duration of debuffs, so it was not often worth the risk. HappyStabby could have used his wolf cloak to disguise him, but why bother when you're massacring noobs anyways.

Nova went up to the guards, nodded his head towards them, and entered without a fuss. It would get a lot harder if he was recognised though, so he kept to the crowds, and made his way towards the magic training area.

He greeted the NPC running the place, a woman that looked to be in her thirties (though you should never guess a lady's age). She was in a magic gown, and held a staff in hand, which looked to be quite powerful, by James' reckoning.

"Hello!" Nova greeted the mage.

"Hello," the mage replied back, in an esteemed, posh accent, "what can I do for you today?"

"I'd like to learn wind magic, and meet my friend Sol" Nova replied, pointing towards SolarSparkle, who was practicing her fire and light magics on the dummies.

"Do you have any magical experience?" the mage asked Nova. When most people ask to be taught magic, they either demand to be taught magic, or ask for some other type of magic, usually fire.

"Yes" Nova said, "I currently have a powerful debuff spell, and another spell that costs way more mana than I currently have, so I'm can't demonstrate that one at the moment."

"Why do you want to learn wind magic?" the mage asked Nova in response.

"It's pretty cheesy, I know, but I want to be able to fly." Nova responded, "But I can also use wind magic to boost Sol's fireballs, and it would also come in handy if I had an archer for a friend".

"Do you have cash?" the mage asked Nova.

"How much?" Nova asked back.

"1 silver" the mage replied, asking for an arm and a leg.

Nova thought about it for a few seconds, before replying "Deal.", and handing over one of the 10 silver coins he started with, which was a small fortune early game, SolarSparkle only having 20 coppers, and only because of a bounty for the MegaMole James killed.

The mage proceeded with some instructions, and before long, Nova could reliably cast a basic wind spell, "Gust", which cast a strong gust of wind in one direction.

Nova then took out a plank and the dagger from his inventory and begun carving runes on the back. The first time was a bust.

Nova took out another plank and started again. Another bust. And another. And another. 5 planks later, Nova successfully carved the runes. Half of the group in the training area was watching, the mage and SolarSparkle included. "Yes!" Nova said to himself and proceeded to activate the runes with the wind magic he learnt, draining all his mana and half his hp in the process. He then got the knife, and rounded off the square edges, until it was in the shape he wanted. Nova had made a basic hoverboard.
