3 ~ The boy who lies

You closed your trunk and put it under the bed. You weren't used to having such a big room. You had arrived at Sirius' house. You had some owl letter exchanges with Hermione who explain that the Order of the Phoenix was located here.

You were all upstairs because you weren't allowed to go down. You had been worried about Harry. He used Magic outside of Hogwarts and might be expelled. The worse part was that you weren't allowed to write him.

You heard the front door close. It was a loud noise every time someone came in. You look around the black painted room. You decided to get up. You walked into the hallway and saw Hermione and Ron.

'Is someone coming?' You asked.

'I don't know. We're not allowed downstairs.' Ron mumbled.

You headed over to the steep stairs and peeked down. You knew you probably weren't able to see anything but you could always try. At least you could hear Mollys loud voice all the way up there.

'Harry!' She said.

You hoped Harry would be happy to see you. He was probably upset that you guys didn't write him. You didn't want him to be upset with you.. you weren't very comfortable with confrontation. You wanted everyone to be your friend.

'Heavens, are you alright?' You heard Molly ask. 'Bit peaky, But I'm afraid dinner will have to wait until after the meeting's finished.'

Harry tried to speak to her but you couldn't really hear what he wad trying to say. His voice wasn't quite as loud as hers. Also Molly interrupted him.

'No, no time to explain. Straight upstairs, first door to the left.'

You heard him coming up the stairs. The stairs were old squeaky. The moment of truth was upon you. Was he angry? Would he understand? This felt a scene from a drama film. Your heart stopped for a moment when the door opened.

'Harry!' Hermione exclaimed before hugging him.

You got up and walked over to them. Harry looked like he hadn't slept in days. He was probably having Nightmares again. A dementor attack wasn't your usual cup of tea of course.

'You must tell us everything.' You insisted.

Ron pulled you and Hermione back a little.

'Let the man breathe.'

He saved people. He saved his nephew and his friend from dementors. They couldn't expel him. You couldn't handle this. It was unfair.

Expelling a perfectly good student and your best friend for saying lives. Dumbledore wouldn't let that happen.

'The hearing at the ministry is outrageous!' You exclaimed.

'I've looked it up. They can't possibly expel you, it's completely unfair!' Hermione cut in.

Harry dropped his bag onto the floor. He seemed highly annoyed. The look on his face said everything. Annoyed and worried.. but you could totally understand that. You walked over to your bed and took a seat on the soft matras.

'Yeah.. There's a lot of that going around at the moment.'

He took a look around. You had no idea why everyone was crowding up in your guest room. But you loved your friends so you let them be for the moment.

'So what is this place?' Harry asked.

'It's the headquarters.' Ron said.

'Apprently it's of the Order of the Phoenix.' You added. 'It's a secret society. Dumbledore formed it back when they found.. you-know-who.'

Hermione and Ron had explained everything in a letter and when you arrived. It wasn't a surprise that Harry wasn't aware of it. Dumbledore forbid you to write him.

'Couldn't have put any of this in a letter I suppose.' Harry spoke. 'I've gone all summer without a scrap of news.'

You had already expected this. Of course he was upset. You would be too if you were him. All summer without anyone reaching out. Especially if you hate the family you're staying at.

'Dumbledore didn't tell you?' Hermione asked.

'Tell me what? I was a bit busy. Cedric died you know.'

You jumped off your bed and let out a tiny sigh before walking closer to him.

'We wanted to write, mate. Really, we did.' Ron spoke. 'Only...'

'Only what?' Harry asked.

'Dumbledore made us swear not to tell you anything.' You followed.

Harry looked at you. It was the first proper look you gave him and to be honest he looked awful. The massive bags under his eyes, the stress in his face and posture. You could get why.

'Dumbledore said that?' Harry asked. 'But why would he keep me in the dark. Maybe I could help. After all I'm the one who saw Voldemort return. I'm the one who fought him, who saw Cedric Diggory get killed...'

Cedric used to be one of your best house mates even tho you varied in year. He was the only real Hufflepuff friend you had. It was such a tragedy. You got pulled by your train of thoughts when Fred and George suddenly apparated into the room  They placed their hand on harrys shoulder, causing him to jump.

'Harry!' They exclaimed.

'Thought we heard your dulcet tones.'

Their presence was always enough to cheer you up. You thought the Twins were the best. When you were younger they always brought you along to show you their pranks. The last few years your contact with them had kinda faded but you still adored them, regardless.

'Don't bottle it up though, mate.  Let it out.' George said.

'If you're all done shouting...' Fred started.

'Do you wanna hear something a little more interesting?' George finished.

More interesting? You swore these guys were always up to something. It did sounds tempting. Before you knew it everyone was following them towards the stairs. You looked around the small hallway that was now crowded with people. Fred and George used an extendible ear to bring it down the stairs and allowed you all to listen.

'If anyone has the right to know it's Harry. If it wasn't for Harry we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back.' Sirius spoke. 'He's not a child, Molly.'

'But he's not an adult either.' Molly defended. 'He's not James, Sirius.'

'Well, he's not your son.' Sirius shot back.

'He's as good as, Who else he's got?'

Sirus and Molly were going at it downstairs. They seemed to be in a heated discussion. You really didn't want to eavesdrop to be honest but there was this weird curiosity inside of you that took the better of you. You just couldn't walk away. Ginny joined next to you.

'Hey Ginny.' Fred and George spoke.

'He's got me.' Sirius spoke.

'How touchingly paternal, Black. Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather.' Snape said.

It was still a surprised to you that Snape was a part of the Order. You looked at the ear down the stairs and saw Hermiones beautiful cat looking at it with big eyes. He was fascinated by it

'Now, you stay out of this, Snivelles.' Sirius spoke.

Harry looked at the rest. As if he had a question on his mind.

'Snape is part of the Order?' Harry asked.

'I know better!' Sirius spoke.

'So why don't you tell him?' Snape asked.

Crookshanks got up and grabbed the ear. Your eyes widened while you elbowed Fred who looked at you and then down. Crookshanks started playing with it. Tossing it around and pulling at it.

'Get off!' You whispered loudly.

'Crookshanks! Stop it!' Hermione whispered loudly.

'Get off, you bloody cat.' Ron sighed.

'Crookshanks leave it alone!' Hermione tried.

'Get it up.' Harry said.

You tried to pull the ear up but then the ear got loose and Crookshanks ran away with it. You rolled your eyes while Fred and George sighed with disappointment.

'Hermione I hate your cat.' Ron sighed.

'We all know that.' You sighed.

'Bad Crookshanks!' Hermione tried to correct him.

You all, except for Fred and George, decided to go downstairs where Molly came out of the room. The delicious smell of food made you realised that you were very hungry.

'We'll be eating in the kitchen-'

Fred and George apparated again, this time right behind Molly, scaring her.  She let out a small scream and turned around.

'Just because you're allowed to use magic now does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything!' Molly screamed while Fred and George ran away. You smiled and walked passed her into the kitchen while Harry reunited with Sirius.

'I don't understand. What has the Ministry of magic got against me?' Harry asked.

'Show him. He'll find out soon enough.' Moody spoke.

Hermione handed him the newspaper. He looked at it. You read that paper earlier today. It was disgusting what they put in it.

The boy who lies?

Was on top of the page.

'He's been attacking Dumbledore as well.' Lupin explained. 'Fudge is using all his power, including his influence on the Daily Prophet...'

'to smear anyone who claims the Dark Lord has returned.' Sirius finished.

It was terrible but true. This world was a total mess right now.

'No-one could ever belief in his fair mind that Dumbledore-' Harry started.

'Exactly the point. Fudge isn't in his right mind. It's been twisted and wrapped by fear. Now, fear makes people do terrible things Harry. The last time Voldemort gained power he almost destroyed everything we hold dear. And now he's returned, and I'm afraid the minister will do almost everything to face that terrifying truth.' Lupin sighed.

'We think, Dumbledore wants to rebuild an army again. Fourteen years ago, he had huge numbers at his command and not just wizards and witches but all manner or dark creatures. He's been recruiting heavily and we've been trying to do the same. But gathering followers isn't the only thing he's interested in... we believe Voldemort might be after something.' Sirius spoke.

'Sirius.' Moody cut him off.

'Something... he didn't have last time.'

The whole room went quiet. The tension was insane. You hated these types of situations.

'You mean... like a weapon?'

'No that's enough. He's just a boy!' Molly spoke.

She snatched the newspaper away. To your opinion Harry had to know all this. Even though he was just a boy.

'You say any more and you might as well induct him in the Order.'

'Good I want to join! If Voldemort's raiding an army, then I want to fight.'

Sirius sat back and winked at him. Was he out of his mind? That was incredibly dangerous.

'For my parents... and for Cedric.'

'Cedric... I almost forgot.' Ginny spoke.

'How can you forget?! He was killed by Voldemort! I saw it.... I was there and I'm not lying!' Harry spoke.

'We know Harry.' Lupin spoke.

'Then let me fight. Molly, you're right. I am just a boy, but I saw my friend die in front of my eyes. I know he'll never come back.'

You hated all this talk about death and pain. You decided to get up for a moment to get some fresh air and allowed them to continue.
