Hashirama

"Stone come downstairs please". I called from downstairs while his brother Shisui slept in my lap. It was just the three of us home. Madraa was at work and Obito and Hibiki were out playing while Shisui stayed home with me. He hadn't been feeling good for a few days and I didn't want him out in the cold considering it was snowing. "Coming"!

I could hear the sound of small feet making their way over to me and looked over at him once he was in the room. "How's Shi doing"? "Not good, I need you to go to the pharmacy and get some medicine for me ok, make sure you put on warm clothes".

"Yes sir". He was only five but I knew he'd be able to handle it.

Stone

I dressed myself in a dark red sweater with black pants, black boots, a cozy white jacket, and a matching white scarf before leaving and heading towards the pharmacy. The snow was falling softly in the air but the snow on the ground was thick. A crunching noise could be heard underneath my boots with every step I made.

I had to work hard not to get distracted and start jumping around in the snow. My baby brother was sick right now and my papa was counting on me to get the medicine he needed.

I headed straight for the pharmacy without stopping. A few people said hi to me as I walked passed them, I waved back and didn't stop until I saw the medium-sized shop with the words Leaf Pharmacy in the window.

"Hi there Stone, all by yourself today". One of the workers Lia asked. "Yes ma'am, I need some cold medicine for Shisui". "Oh no, I hope he feels better soon". She headed into the back and came back out with a box of medicine.

"Thank you, he'll start to feel better soon after taking this. How much"? "Go ahead and take it, honey, the head doctor wanted it after all". I nodded. "Thank you again". She placed it in a bag for me and I headed out. I had planned on going straight home but that didn't happen. From the corner of my eye, I could see a boy around the same age as me getting beat up.

Without a second thought, I ran over to where he was and started attacking his attackers. I kicked and punched each of the boys that were on top of him until they either had a broken nose or sprained arm.

"Why help a nobody like him Uchiha"? One of them asked. "Beating up on people for no reason isn't right now get out of here before I call my dad". At the mention of my father Madara, their eyes widened in shock before running off to their homes.

I turned around to look at the kid they were attacking, he had black hair and dark green eyes that were filled with fear. "It's ok, they're not gonna hurt you anymore". I smiled. "W why did you help me"? "Because you needed help, I'm Stone". "X Xion". "Wanna come to my house? My papa makes amazing hot chocolate".

"I is it ok"? "Of course". I took his hand and helped him onto his feet before walking off with him in the direction of my house. Once there I walked through the front door with him and headed upstairs to where papa was with Shisui.

"Im back papa". "Thanks love, who's your friend"? "My names Xion sir". "A bunch of bullies were ganging up on him so I ran over to help, can we have hot chocolate"? He smiled. "Of course my love". He placed the medicine on Shisui's nightstand for when he woke up and headed to the kitchen with us behind him.

When the hot chocolate was done he decorated it with whipped cream, marshmallows, and chocolate syrup. We sat together at the counter and I smiled as Xion enjoyed his treat. "Yummy"! "Told you".

Seven years later

Iruka

"Do the two of you have to go? Why can't you come with me to the bunker"? I asked my parents as they prepared to head out to battle. The nine tails was attacking the village and my parents planned on going out to help.

"It's our job as shinobi to protect our village". My mother said. "We'll come get you ass soon as lord Hokage is finished taking care of the nine tails until then you need to go to the bunker and stay safe". My father said.  "Ok". I said looking down. He ruffled my hair gently. "Your mother and I love you so much Iruka, never forget that". I nodded.

It didn't take me long to get to the bunker from my house. I made a B-line for it without stopping while my parents ran in the opposite direction towards the battle. I wanted to stay at our house and wait for them but our home wasn't safe at the moment. The nine tails could attack any of our homes destroying them within a second.

The bunker was the only safe place. It was underground and made out of steel making it hard to find unless you were a leaf citizen. I made my way inside and immediately took notice to all of the kids that belonged to Shinobi parents. Their faces were sad and eyes filled with fear.

Genin weren't allowed on the battlefield and most of the younger kids haven't even had training yet. I looked around the room for anyone I knew and eventually found my friend Kakashi lying against his friend Obito, from the looks of things his leg appeared to be injured.

"Kakashi"! I called out as I made my way over to where they were. "Hey Iruka, thank goodness you made it here safe". He smiled through his mask. "Are you ok? What happened"? "I'm fine, it's just a sprain". "Good". I relaxed a bit.

"Is your dad out fighting to"? "He is, so are Obito's parents". "I hate that I can't go help them. I have the sharingan after all". "I know how you feel but rules are rules". Kakashi said. Obito pouted.

Lord Hashirama and Lord Madara are both on the battlefield that's good. The chances of both my parents coming back home safely just increased.

Everything felt numb. I had no idea what time it was or how long I was sitting here for. All I could do was sit and stare blankly at the two headstones in front of me.

Here lies Lee Umino. Here lies Anna Umino.

My parents had died during the nine-tailed attack leaving me all by myself. I had no one now. No one to go home to. No one to welcome me home after playing with my friends or coming home from school. No one to eat breakfast with in the morning. No one to say goodnight to me. No one to tell me they loved me.
I was utterly alone and it hurt. No one would ever look out for me the way they did.

"You promised me. You promised me you'd come back home and I believed you. Why didn't the two of you just stay with me? The three of us could have hid in the bunker together and I wouldn't be all alone right now. I don't care that other kids lost their parents as well, they weren't my parents. You two were and now I no longer have you. I don't have anyone".

"That's not true, you still have me". Kakashi said making his way over to sit beside me. "You didn't have to come". "I wanted to, your my best friend after all". I said nothing. "I've never met her but the pain of not having my mother in my life has always been with me. I'm always wondering what kind of woman she was. What her laugh sounded like, how her hugs felt, what her smile looked like. I envy you. She's gone now but you did get the opportunity to know your mother".

"How do you manage it"? "My friends and Obuto's parents. They've never turned their backs on me and have always been there when I needed them". "What if I never have that"? "You will, I know you will".

I went for a walk after talking with Kakashi. My head was spinning and the last thing I wanted was to go home to an empty house. I had a little bit of money on me from my allowance, I'd probably get me something to eat and ask Kashi if I could stay with him tonight.

I walked around for a bit until I came across Ichiraku. I looked inside and when I noticed no one there, I went take a seat inside. "Hey Iruka, what can I get you"? "One bowl of miso ramen please". "Coming right up". He smiled before heading into the back.

I sighed looking down but soon picked it back up after hearing the commotion outside.

"Eh Uchiha, what's with your clan trying to destroy the village with the nine tails? Your daddy getting tired of the simple easy life"? I got up and poked my head out to see what was going on. I had never talked to him before but I recognized him as one of Obito's older brothers. His name was Stone and next to him was his friend Xion Nara.

"You know nothing". Stone said trying to walk away from the situation. A lot of the villagers were trying to blame the Uchiha for what happened but I know it isn't true. I've seen both Hashirama and Madara interact with Kakashi and their nothing but nice, not only to him but other villagers as well.

One of the boys who were accusing him shoved him a little causing him to glare at them. "What are you gonna do? Use your sharingan on me and try to control me like you did with the nine tails"? "That wasn't us, the Uchiha had nothing to do with what happened. My parents were out on the battlefield trying to stop the attack".

"Yeah, to make themselves look better". "Stone, let's just go it's getting late". Xion spoke. He lowered his head and I could tell he was trying his hardest to control himself. They were badmouthing his clan, his parents. I could only imagine how hard that must be.

"Come on, your papas cooking tonight". Xion tugged on his shirt. Stone nodded and started to walk off with him but what neither of them saw was a hit aimed for Stone coming towards them. Without a second thought, I rushed over to get behind them and took the punch head-on.

They both turned around after hearing my body fall to the dirt road. "Are you ok"? Stone asked coming to my aid. I nodded and he helped me up. "You didn't have to do that I could have blocked it". He said concerned.

So he did sense it

"Why on earth would you help the people who tried to destroy our village"? One of the boys asked. I glared at them this time. "Don't go accusing people without proof". "Only the Uchiha have the power to control the nine tails, everyone knows that". 

"That doesn't mean they did it! The only Uchiha's that would be strong enough to do that are Madara,  Izuna, and Ryuko and they were on the battlefield helping everyone fight the tailed beast. Stop talking crap about his dads when you don't know anything".

"Tch, this is pointless". One of them said before walking off with his friend. "Thank you". Stone said sincerely. "Don't mention it, I'm just glad I could help". "If you come with us we can treat you to a meal at his house". Xion said. "I would like to but I already ordered some ramen but ill let you both eat with me if you want". They both smiled. "I'm Stone". "Xion". I smiled back. "My names Iruka". The three of us headed back inside and I continued to smile as Stone and Xion sat on either side of me and ordered food as well.
