Kakashi

Ten years ago

I woke up to the sound of my alarm system going off. I climbed out of bed and headed into my bathroom. I took my morning shower, brushed my teeth, and washed my face then headed back into my room and dressed myself in my regular ninja attire.

"Morning dad". I said to the picture of him that was sitting next to my bed. I made my way downstairs soon after and headed into the kitchen. I opened the window and got started on breakfast.

While in the middle of cooking I was greeted with an all too familiar chakra presence that had came in through the window. "Hey Obito". I said smiling through my mask. "Hey Kashi". He kissed my cheek and stole a piece of bacon that was on the plate. The two of us have been dating in secret for a while now.

We had always been close growing up but when my father died he was the only one that was there for me. I realized then that Obito was the only one I could count on no matter what.

"Tables set". "You didn't have to". I said turning to look at him. "It's the least I could do". He said giving me his famous closed-eye smile. That smile always put me at ease. I smiled back at him and finished cooking the rest of the food that was in the pan.

Once it was done I fixed both our plates, sat them on the table, and sat next to him. "Thank you for the food". He said still smiling. I pulled down my mask and we started eating together. Obito was the third person to ever see my face. The first two being my mom and dad.

I couldn't help but feel there was something bothering him though. I looked over at him and saw that he was deep in thought as he looked down into his plate eating. "Your not normally this quiet. What's wrong"?

I asked placing my hand on top of his. "I found out from lord third that I have two dads, I'm sorry, I meant had. I can't help but wonder if they would've been good cooks like you". "I'm sorry Obito". I said giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

"Does Stone know"? "Yeah, Lord third told us both at the same time. He also told us we have uncles, aunts, cousins, and younger siblings but you want to know what's bad about all of this? He won't tell us any of their names". "I'm so sorry Obito, I know how much knowing meant to you".

"He won't even tell us if they're alive or not ". "If you want I can tell sensei that you're not feeling well and that you need me to stay back and help make sure you're ok. We can use that as an excuse to stay in bed and just lie down together. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, we'll just lay down and I'll hold you".

He took my hand in his and squeezed it back. "Thank you for the offer but I need the distraction. Going on this mission will help". "Ok, if you're sure".

If I had known what would happen in the next few hours I would've made him stay home.

"I have a different mission I need to complete so Kakashi will be team captain today. Your mission assignment is to head to Kanabi bridge and secure it". "So an infiltration mission understood". I said. "Let's get going captain". Obito said smiling.

I nodded my head and the four of us split up. Obito, Rin and I followed the map closely as we walked in the forest. We made sure to stay close to each other but Rin managed to get kidnapped.

"Fire style, fireball jutsu"! Obito said blowing a blast of flames upwards aiming it at the enemy while I fought off one of them. The two of us fought in the trees while Obito tried his best to get Rin back but it was to no avail.

The enemy ended up using a smoke bomb to escape. "We have to go after her, there's no telling what they'll do to her". I said. "I agree". We took off into the trees and headed after them. We traveled for a while until I sensed someone after us.

I quickly grabbed my father's sword and stabbed the enemy before they could attack Obito. "Are you ok"? "Yeah, thanks". "His smell is gone. We're gonna have to locate him by the slightest hint of sound". The two of us started listening for him but I soon found myself having my eye slashed.

I let out a scream as I fell down holding it. "Kakashi"! Obito said coming to my aid. "It hurts". The next thing I knew the enemy was laying down in front of us injured as Obito held a kuni with blood on it. I was confused at how he was able to find him at first until I noticed that he had awakened his sharingan.

He finally did it. Obito finally awakened his sharingan

"Obito". "This is why the two of us make such a good team. We always have each other's backs no matter what". He said placing a hand on my shoulder smiling. "Yeah". I said smiling back. "How's your eye"? "I probably lost it but I'll be fine. We need to get going". "Alright".

We took off again and continued our search for her until we came across a cave. "Is she in there"? "She is but her chakra's distorted. They more than likely have her in a genjutsu".  "We fought before, he's fast so be careful". "Understood". He said as we took off.

Obito took the lead as I ran beside him. The enemy ran towards us with two kuni blades and went for Obito but he was able to bend his body backwards dodging it then used his legs to wrap them around his neck and throw him.

"Release". I said as I managed to make my way to Rin and free her from the genjutsu she was in. "Obito, Kakashi"? She asked confused. "It's ok, your safe now". Obito said. "Let's get out of here. Sensei will be here soon".

"Remember, your standing in the palm of your enemy now. Earth style, rock breaker"! The enemy yelled as he placed his hand on the ground. The three of us quickly took notice as the rocks above us started to make a rumbling sound meaning that they would fall soon.

We ran as fast as we could but it was hard for me considering I had only one good eye. Dust started to fill the cave right away making it even harder for me to see. I tried to look for Obito so I could grab ahold of his hand but I couldn't.

Instead I was hit in the head with one of the smaller rocks that were falling and heard Rin yell out. The last thing I felt was someone pushing me out of the way before blacking out completely.

When I came to I noticed Rin was laying down on the ground a few feet away from me, I immediately forced myself to get up and make my way to her. "Rin, Rin". I called out as I shook her awake. "Kakashi". She said groggily.

"Thank goodness your alright". I said giving her a small smile. "Now to find Obito". I said turning my head to look around for him. Just like Rin I was able to find him pretty fast but finding him was completely different from finding her.

My heart completely broke as my only good eye met with his body. Unlike Rin, Obito was hurt bad. He was the one that pushed me out of the way and ended up being crushed because of it. "Obito"! I yelled out as I immediately made my way to his side.

I took his hand in mine and held it tight trying to give him some sort of comfort. "I'm right here Obito. Please wake up. Do it for me". I said with tears in my eyes. "K Kakashi". His voice was weak as he opened his eyes to look up at me. I could only see one since his entire right side was underneath a boulder.

"Thank goodness you and Rin are ok, I was worried". "Your gonna be ok to. Sensei's on his way here. He'll be able to help you just please hang on for me". I said with tears in my eyes. "I don't think he's going to make it in time". "Don't say that. Everything's going to be ok, you'll see".

I was trying my best to comfort him but I could see the pain in his eye and knew it was taking everything he had to just stay awake.

Please sensei, he needs you

"I want to thank you. For as long as I can remember you've been the only true friend I've had. You know me better then my own brother and are the only one who understands me the most. I'm so grateful to you and everything you've done for me.

I'm especially grateful for the time we got to spend together even if it wasn't that long. There is something I need you to do for me though. I want you to take my left Sharingan. This way we'll always be together and I can continue to protect you".

"Please Obito, don't talk like this". I said allowing my tears to fall. "The last thing I ever wanted to do was make you cry but I'm so tired right now. Please Kakashi". "You said we'd always be together". "And this way we will, for me my love. Please". I nodded my head. "Thank you, for everything. I love you ".

End of flashback

Those were the last words I ever heard from him. Rin ended up pulling me out of the cave as soon as Obito transferred his eye to me and I watched horrified as the rockslide caved in on him.

Sensei didn't get there in time like I thought he would. He didn't even go back for his body so we could bury him probably.

Obito's grave is empty with the only items there being his goggles and his tombstone with his nameplate. The only ones that mourn him are me, Stone, Iruka and Xion, everyone else has forgotten him.

The only comfort I have is the left eye he gave me along with the Uchiha necklace that's around my neck. Those and his goggles are the only things I have left to remember him by. It hurts so much not bring able go talk to him again. I would give anything just to see his face one last time or to be able to feel his chakra.

So many things have happened in the last ten years. Rin and sensei are gone and on top of that I was turned into a jinjuriki.

Would you still want me if you knew I was a monster? Would you hate me like the rest of the village? Would you still even love me?

I thought as I stood in front of his grave as a gently breeze blew threw my hair. I kneeled down and just stared at it.

I'm sorry Obito, please forgive me
