Hoseok

"How did I know you were going to be here?" I chuckled to myself as I found Emi standing by the window just outside the party.

"You didn't have to look far." She turns to me with a bitter look. "You know what, Hoseok? You didn't have to look at all. What do you want? To make every moment you have with me the worst?"

I was about to say something, but she beat me to it.

"Why the hell do you say those type of things? Knowing that I'm sensitive to it? I LOVE MY FATHER TO DEATH AND YOU JUST WANT TO SAY SOMETHING INSENSITIVE IN FRONT OF ME AND OTHER PEOPLE TOO?!"

We stood several feet apart, but she was still loud and clear with her words.

"You wonder why I hate you so much!" She yells in anger. "You wonder why I never want to see you!? Or why I never want to listen to you!? You wonder why I divorced you!"

My eyes widen.

"It's because you can't control your damn mouth! That's why!" She points to me with a shaky finger. "You say things that make me feel so worthless and so weak! You say things that make me so sad and you know what's happening in my life AND YOU STILL SAY STUFF LIKE THAT TO MY FACE!"

I reached out my hand. "Emi-"

"When I tell you to leave me alone, listen! Or I will really find a way to remove you out of my life."

"Emi-"

She, in a surprising second, takes off her heels and throws them at me, aiming for my face.

Her throw was strong, but I caught them before they could actually injure me.

When I look back up, she's gone.

My heart raced in a way it never has before. I felt out of breath.

I sighed and hung my head.

Hurried footsteps followed by the double doors opening made me jump back.

Seokjin, Namjoon, and Emi's friend from before rush out of the party. They freeze when they see me standing here with heels in my hands.

"What the hell happened, Hoseok?" Namjoon rubbed his forehead and closed his eyes.

He may not know exactly what happened, but he knew I messed up big time.

"Where did she go?" Seokjin asks in such a intimidating tone.

I press my lips together and shrug. "I don't know."

"Aish." He shakes his head and runs to the elevator. The other lady following close behind him.

Namjoon

Hoseok couldn't look at me.

Which is confusing because every time he does make Emi mad or frustrated, he's laughing and making a lot of fun out of it.

This time...he actually had guilt in his system.

I felt bad, but at the same time, FINALLY! HE HAS FEELINGS!

We left the party and went up to the roof to talk.

The roof of this skyscraper is really pretty and I was hoping to bring Emi up here before the party ends, but obviously, she can't.

Instead of a dirty setting, the roof had plants and flowers neatly placed around. It's very taken care of and a good place for people to relax and get some air.

Hoseok leaned on the concrete ledge and stared at the evening sky. His eyes were blank, but also glossy.

His wall finally broke.

I guess.

I wonder what Emi said to him.

I stood besides him with my arms crossed on the ledge too. I wasn't looking at the sky, though. I was looking at him.

"Someday..." I sighed and gazed at the sky. "You're going to regret acting this way to Emi."

Hoseok's gaze fell.

"That day is not today. That day already passed. It was when she divorced you."

His Adam's apple moved.

"And now you're getting the message? Now you're feeling regret? Guilt? Just now? You love her, Hoseok, and yet, the more you try to hide that, the more you push her away. I'm not saying that you're pushing her away from loving you, you already did that. I'm saying you're pushing her out of your life...forever."

His head fell on his arms.

"If you continue doing what you're doing, you'll lose her. Am I saying you should change your ways? Should you change yourself? What's worse, Hoseok? You holding back your tongue, or losing the one girl that actually makes you feel like a different person already?"

Soo Emi

Why am I so sad? Why am I so mad!?

I should be used to Hoseok being a rude, mean, disrespectful, stupid, rude, jerk. I should expect this.

Why, no matter how many times he's said those types of things to me, why does it get to me?

He never fails! He never fails to mess up my emotions and ruin the entire day for me.

Why do I still care about what he says?

I wish I could just take it and not care!

I shouldn't care what he says. I shouldn't be so effected because he does it so many times!

He also means nothing to me.

Why do I still care as if what he says means a lot.....

It does.

It means so much.

When he talks about my life like that, I get so tempted to throw a whole table at him.

Especially when he speaks about my father in a way that puts him down...I just lose it with him.

This isn't the first time, but I hope it'll be the last.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

I sit up from the couch, pausing my show on the TV. I look at my closed curtains.

It might be Namjoon.

I walked towards the door and opened it.

"Seokjin? Naeun?" I cover my mouth.

"Hey, Emi." Naeun chirped like a gentle mother.

"It's so late, you guys. What are you doing here?" I asked, holding onto the door.

"We wanted to check up on you." Seokjin says.

"Oh, uh, come in. Let's not stay in the cold."

I welcome them in and they politely take off their shoes before stepping onto my carpet.

"I'll be back in a second." I say, then ran upstairs.

I am now aware that I look like a complete mess.

I quickly clean myself up before going back down to join my friends on the couch.

"Emi, are you ok?" Naeun immediately asks and holds my arm.

"We were worried after you left the party so suddenly." Seokjin adds.

"When I went back to give you your drink, you weren't anywhere. I thought you went to the bathroom, so I waited around. Then Seokjin comes up to me and asks where you were. I didn't know what to say because you were gone for almost 10 minutes, I figured you weren't in the bathroom." Naeun explains, keeping a hand on my arm.

"We went around to find you, but we couldn't find you, so we went to Namjoon. Turns out, he was looking for Hoseok and he told us that he last saw you and him talking." Seokjin continues.

"Namjoon then rushed out and we followed. We went to follow you, then we got stopped by some people. After that, we tried to find you, but completely failed. Then Seokjin got a text from Namjoon telling us to give you space for a bit. So, when the party ended, we drove here to check up on you."

"Thanks, you guys. I appreciate it. I'm fine now, though. I just thought to myself....I shouldn't be so effected by his words, you know?"

They both nodded, then paused.

"If I may ask, what did he say?" Naeun asks.

I looked at Seokjin and the way he looked back told me that he already has a feeling of what Hoseok might've said.

"It was about my father." I pressed my lips together. "About how he's not successful anymore..."

"What a jerk!" Naeun gasps. "That's so rude."

I just nod.

"Why does he treat you like that?"

I swallowed a lump, not really knowing how to answer that question.

Seokjin lets out a loud breath. "It's because he can't control himself around her."
