"Well, I should get going, but before I go...Hoseok?" Joon looks straight at me.
His sudden gaze made me jump a bit.
"Can I talk to you for a bit?" He requests.
I take my hands out from my pockets. "Uh, alright."
"I'll be sitting at the fountain." Emi points behind her and scurries away.
I look back to Joon and he flashes a smile.
"It's been a very long time, but I just want to say a quick thanks now that I'm actually face to face with you."
I nod my head. "It's no problem, Joon."
"And, um, not that I was checking you out or anything, but there's something bulging out of your back pocket." Joon points to my pants.
My heart jumps and my hand flies to the ring box that was so close to falling out of my back pocket.
"Oh, my gosh." I gasped, stuffing the ring further into the pocket. "Oh, my goodness."
"You're proposing?" Joon asks in a slight whisper.
"Yes....I am. Thanks for telling me that before it falls out and my life ends." I nervously chuckled.
He shakes his head with a goofy chuckle. "I always thought you guys were a married couple already, but I guess I was wrong."
"Yeah, it's been a rollercoaster."
"I bet it has."
The awkward breeze blew over us and our conversation cut short. I hung my head and focused on the cement to avoid eye contact with him.
"You two are meant to be together." Joon breaks the silence out of nowhere, making my head shoot up.
"Oh, uh...."
*BEEP BEEP*
"And that's my ride." Joon shakes my hand and turns away. "Bye, Hoseok."
"O-Oh, uh, bye..." I watched him walk away, still processing our awkward back and fourth.
Emi runs up behind me and waves her hand to Joon. "Bye, Joon! Tell your mother I said hello!"
Joon just gives her a head nod before entering the car and speeding away.
"What did he want to talk to you about?" Emi wraps her hands around my arm. "You two looked very awkward."
"He just wanted to thank me for some stuff." I coughed. "We should hurry, though. I have another surprise for you."
Jennie
"Food, check. Drinks, check. You're lucky, Lucas. Blankets and pillows, check." I strolled around the area, switching my eyes from the clipboard in my hand to my surroundings.
"Music is all set!" Jimin shouts from afar. "There was a slight problem with the connection, but it's working now."
"Awesome." I mark a little box on my paper. "Music, check. What's next?"
"AHHHHAHAHAGGA!"
The startling scream/laugh caused me to drop my clipboard on the ground.
I groaned in annoyance and kneeled down to pick it back up.
"AHHAHAHAHHIFJSJSOWB!"
"JUNGKOOK, BE CAREFUL!"
"AHHHHHAHAHHAHA!"
I looked up and saw Jungkook on top of a huge, thick tree that was towering right above where the blankets were set up. He was on a tree branch, hugging it with the unlit string lights wrapped around his arm.
It was still very dark from what I can see.
Taehyung and Jimin were underneath him with their arms up.
"You guys!" I ran over to them. "Are you almost done? It's getting dark and the lights are literally the most important part of this."
"Ah, yes, sight is very important for humans." Namjoon comments from afar.
"So is death." Yoongi adds.
"Do you two do this all the time?" Lucas asks them.
"The branch up there would be perfect to hang lights." Taehyung points to Jungkook. "We're trying to hang the lights there. Hopefully we'll get it done soon."
"Jungkook, be careful!" Jimin shouts towards him, ignoring my question.
"Why was there screaming?" I ask.
"It's not as easy as it looks!" Jungkook squeals.
"Who said it looked easy." Seokjin snorts from the food table.
I sighed. "Just get the lights done and don't get hurt. Hoseok said they'll be here soon."
Jungkook slowly makes his way along the branch, stopping and shaking on the way.
"Taehyung, can you plug the lights in? I can't see where to put the lights." He asks.
"Seriously, Jungkook, be careful!" Jimin warns him again.
Taehyung does as told and the lights soon light up in a very pretty golden color.
The lights that were almost invisible in the dark are now bright and very visible...and very tangled.
"Why are the lights wrapped around you!?" I screamed.
"I did that so I wouldn't have to hold it when I climb up here!" Jungkook blurts.
"Jungkook, get down! I think the branch is shaking!" Seokjin warns.
It was too late.
Jungkook made one wrong scoot and off the branch he falls.
We all shrieked in fear and ran away to dodge his falling body.
The sound of tight stretching makes everything stop and we turn back to see what happened.
Jungkook didn't hit the ground. He was caught by the lights and was now dangling from the branch a few feet off the ground.
We all gasp and run over to him.
Jungkook turns his head around and peeks through the lights. "T-That was kind of fun. Not gonna lie."
I held a hand to my heart. "Oh, dear."
"Let's get you out." Jimin says and begins messing with the lights.
*buzz buzz*
I pull my phone out and opened the text message.
Hoseok: we're almost there, hide and play the music
"CRAP!" I stuffed my phone back into my pocket and ran towards Jungkook. "Can you get him untangled?"
"How long do we have again?" Taehyung asks.
"We don't have anymore time. Hoseok is coming! We have to go into our hiding places right now!"
We immediately dispersed, forgetting about Jungkook, and got back on track with the plan Hoseok told us to follow.
Jimin turns on the speaker and soft R&B music begins playing. Seokjin covers the food to keep the warmth and freshness. Everyone else, including me, ran into hiding.
Soo Emi
My adrenaline built up in a second. I held my hands together in excitement.
We walked more and more, and then we stopped abruptly. Followed by....rustling of some sort?
"What's wrong?"
"Oh, no..." I hear Hoseok mumble.
"Sur-Surprise?"
Was that Jungkook?
I ripped the blindfold away and my jaw instantly drops to the ground.
Although there was obviously a romantic picnic set up right in front of me, I couldn't bring my focus away from the human chandelier dangling right in the middle of it.
"Surprise!" Jungkook nervously laughs.
*
Jungkook unwraps the last tangled knot of lights and tosses it towards the rest of the pile. "Thanks..."
"I have many questions about everything, but..." I give him a hug. "It's great to see you again."
"Good to see you too, but I gotta, uh, I gotta...zoom."
And off that Jungkook goes...
I stretched my arms above my head, a bit strained from pulling all the lights from the chandelier boy. "At least he's not snuck anymore. How-"
I turned towards Hoseok and notice he was sulking.
"What's wrong, babe?" I grabbed his hand.
"Everything's ruined." He looks up and closes his eyes. "This is not what I planned out."
"Hoseok," I tugged at his hand to make him look down at me. "Hey, babe..."
He whines. "It was going to be great, Emi. It was going to be so amazing and make you scream-"
I shut him up with a kiss.
"Hoseok, I love it. Stop freaking out. It's amazing." I smile against his lips. "It doesn't have to be absolutely perfect."
"It should be. For what I'm about to do, it should be." He looked back up and sighed.
"What do you mean? It's perfect no matter what if you're here with me."
He opened his eyes and slowly looked back down at me.
He finally breaks into a cheeky grin.
"That's the smile I love. Come here." I giggled and pulled him in for another kiss.

Jennie
"Should we reveal ourselves now?" Namjoon asks.
I shake my head. "Let's just wait until our cue."
We hear sniffling from the side and we turn our heads towards it.
"This is...This is so cute." Seokjin quietly cries and wipes his eyes.
"Such a wuss." Yoongi deeply chuckles.
"Are you alright? Do you want tissues?" Lucas asks Seokjin with a hand on his back.
"What are you guys? Are you guys dating?" Taehyung asks them.
The both of them looked at him, flustered and panicked.
"Are you guys dating?" Namjoon gasps.
"Will you all shut up?"

The lack of lighting was really bothering Hoseok for some reason, so I needed to find a way to fix that.
I throw the lights over the branch, letting it hang over on the both sides. I kept throwing it and tightening it and soon enough, the lights were wrapped around the branch like a candy cane.
"There you go! Are you alright now, babe?" I went over to wrap my arms around Hoseok's waist. "Are you still sad?"
He looks up at the lights and I can notice his lips slowly lifting into a smile.
"You're the best." He whispers and pecks the top of my head. "I love you."
"I love you too, Hoseok." I rest my head on his chest.
I hear his breathing slow down, but become heavier.
"T-That's why I-I want to ask you something." He begins to stammers.
Next thing I know, he's on the ground with a small black box in his hands.
My stomach tightened as I realize what was happening.
"I love you, Emi. I love everything about you. From the smallest things to the biggest." His eyes glistened as he spoke. "And I...I want you to know that....so....I want to be able to remind you every single day for the rest of our lives."
Tears streamed down my face as he opens the box, revealing the most stunning gem ever.
"Will you marry me, Soo Smi?"
"Yes!" I nearly screamed. "Yes! Yes! Yes!"
I couldn't wait for him to stand up. I ran straight into him for a hug, sending us both tumbling to the ground.
Luckily, we landed in a pile of blankets and pillows.
*
"We've really come a long way." I breathed peacefully with my head on Hoseok's lap and played with my new ring. "And I can't believe this is how we ended up....but I'm also so, so glad."
"Me too." He says as he plays with my strands.
"That's why there were so many surprises today. You really go big or go home, huh?" I laughed.
"Of course."
"Is that all? The surprises?"
His hands stop, making me look up at him.
"There's actually one last surprise. I almost forgot."
"What?"
Hoseok stands up, grabbing my hands to make me stand up too.
"COME ON OUT, GUYS!" He shouts out of nowhere.
Before I could question, a bunch of people started popping out from behind bushes, behind trees, and out of the dark.
It took me a minute, but once I recognized who they were...
"NAMJOON! YOONGI! AH! NO WAY! JENNIE! JIMIN! TAEHYUNG! AH! HI!" I jumped over the pillows and blankets.
Lucas and Seokjin came out too, but I pushed them out of the way to get to the others.
I nearly knocked Jennie over as I wrapped my arms around her for a hug.
"I can't believe you're here! It's been so long!" I blurted.
Namjoon joined our hug, so did Taehyung and Jungkook, even Yoongi too.
"And because you saw us this morning, you don't even care anymore." Seokjin scoffed. "I can safely say that I'm offended."
"I agree. It's not fair." Lucas copies.
"Will you two love birds keep it down and go back to your date?" Hoseok laughs and throws an arm around both of them. "Thanks for everything, though."
Seokjin narrows his eyes. "Yeah, whatever. I bet the food is cold now."
"Congrats on the engagement, though." Lucas chirps.
*
The night was like a dream come true. I haven't dreamt of this moment at all, but it feels like this would be something I would dream of.
I just love it.
My friends were all here, laughing and drinking under the golden lights.
The atmosphere was magical and the fact that Hoseok just proposed to me...I can get run over by a car and still be the happiest person ever.
"I would like to say something!" Hoseok clunk his glass, creating a bell sound.
Everyone quickly silenced and our focus turned to my fiancé.
"I have a gift. A very, very special gift from a very, very special person." He sets his drink down and reaches into his pocket.
"Who's more special than the bride herself?" Jennie nudges my arm with a smile.
"Maybe, her father?"
"OH-" Namjoon spits out his drink all over Seokjin, making Seokjin scream bloody murder. Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook bursted in laughter while Jennie and Yoongi backed away from them.
"EW....EW!" Seokjin cried out and held his hands out in disgust. "AG!"
"My-My dad?" I hand my drink to Jennie and walked closer to Hoseok. "What are you saying?"
"I got a letter from your father." He lowers his voice, so he was more intimate with me. "I wanted to wait until the end of the night to give it to you."
I already felt the tears coming. "H-He wrote that?"
Hoseok nods. "Just for us."
"WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP?!" Jennie shouted at the laughing and disgusted kids.
They all obeyed and brought their focus back to Hoseok and I.
"Are you guys ok now?" Hoseok asks them with his eyebrows raised.
Seokjin wiped his face. "Namjoon's saliva is all over my handsome face."
"Will you suck it up?" Lucas rolls his eyes.
"That sounds wrong." Jungkook chuckles with Taehyung.
"Anyway," Hoseok looks back at me and hands me a blue envelope. "I waited, so we can read it together."
I wiped my teary eyes and held the letter close to my heart. "I-I miss him so much."
"I know you do, babe." Hoseok pulls me close to him and hugs my head. "I know you do."
