Jung Hoseok
4 policemen tackled the two men in black to the floor and kicked the gun out of his hand.
Police cars drove into the parking lot, one by one. Police officers piled around and soon....this empty parking lot became a crime scene.
It was a blur and every sound was muffled in my ears.
I held Emi in my arms as I gently shook her around, trying to get her eyes to open.
Tears ran down my cheeks as her head continuously fails to keep up straight.
I looked at her bloody wound and could feel the pain hit me too.
I cried harder as I begged her to stay with me. I begged her to not die. I begged her to open her eyes. I begged her to breathe.
My voice sounded so distant as I screamed in agony. It sounded so...unreal.
This all seemed so unreal.
I held Emi close to me and I continued to cry against the crook of her neck.
It should've been me, I thought.
He could've shot me instead.
HE SHOULD'VE SHOT ME INSTEAD OF SHOOTING HER!
My hand was pressed against her wound, thinking if I held it there...the blood would stop flowing out.
If I stop the bleeding, she will live, right? That's how it works, right?
I was suddenly pulled away from her and two paramedics lifted her up onto the orange stretcher.
I screamed and told them to not hurt her. I screamed at them to save her. I screamed and screamed and screamed.
My body flails around, trying to get whoever has their hands on me to let go.
I need to be with her!
Lucas grabs me by the shoulders and turns me to him. He slaps my cheek a bit and wiggles me around.
His mouth was moving. He was saying something to me, but I couldn't hear him.
All I heard was the sound of the sirens and paramedics bringing Emi into the back of the ambulance car.
Lucas pulls me in and hugs me tightly.
I cried on his shoulder and gripped onto his shirt.
"It's going to be ok."
Was all I heard.

"Let me go with her." I pleaded so weakly.
"We need you down at the police station for questioning."
"I need to be with her. I need to know that she's alive." I whimpered.
"We're going to ask you some questions first. Alright, Jung Hoseok?"
*
My eyes never blinked as I kept a stare on the floor by my feet.
Lucas and Seokjin were sitting in chairs besides me and they were deathly silent too.
The police officers asked us various questions about what happened and how did it start.
Seokjin answered most, Lucas answered some, and I didn't say a single word.
"How did you know where we were?" Seokjin asks.
"It was your female friend who called us."
A wave of sadness came over me like I was drowning in an ocean. Tears bursted out of me as I thought about her.
She was more than just afemale friend.

Soo Emi
I was practically shaking in my shoes as I watched them talk. They were speaking in such threatening tones and they looked like they were about to jump on each other.
As one of the scary men was talking to Hoseok in a furious manner, I notice the other one pulling something out from his pocket.
My fingers trembled as I sneakily reach for my phone in the back pocket of my jeans.
I can't stand here and do nothing.
I need to call the cops.
I kept my eyes on the men as I tried to dial the three numbers despite my phone being behind my back.
For a quick second, I looked down to see if the number I dialed was correct and fortunately it was.
The call went through and I could hear the faint voice of the dispatcher.
But before I could say or do anything, everything turns black.

I stood by the water fountain with my hands on the wall and my head hanging down.
My heart was shaking and my face was moist with sweat.
Tears kept falling non stop and uncontrollably as my mind continuously replays the sound of her body falling to the ground.
"Hey," I hear Lucas from behind me.
I don't respond.
"Hoseok, you can go."
I spin around immediately. "What? I can?"
"Yeah. Seokjin and I will take care of everything. You can go to the hospital and visit her."
A smile came upon me as I hugged him.
"Thank you. Thank you." I whispered and patted his back. "Thank you so much."
"Of course, man. A police officer will help escort you."

I ran down the white halls of the hospital with my heart racing.
"Room 1994. Room 1994. Room 1994." I repeated in my head as I scanned every room that passed.
I stop at the right room and without knocking, I entered.
Right away, I saw Emi in the hospital bed and a nurse standing above her.
I rushed over. "Hi-Is-I-Is every-everything o-ok? H-How is she? I-Is she ok? She-She looks ok? Is she? Nurse, is she-is she alright?"
The nurse looks up at me with a soft smile. "She's alright. The gunshot made a flesh wound. The bullet did not hit any bones or vital organs."
I felt my world brightening up instantly and my smile growing as I heard those words.
"She's alright. She's ok." I held my hands to my head and paced around. "She's ok. She's ok. She's alive. She's ok."
"She should be waking up soon. I'll leave the room now. If you need anything, press the button." The nurse politely nods her head before leaving the room.
I fell besides the bed and onto my knees. Tears bursted out, but it was because of joy and relief.
"H-Hoseok?"
I launch my body up and saw Emi's beautiful face.
Her eyes were open...and her lips twisted into a weak smile.
"Baby girl." I squeaked and ran my hand through her hair. "You're going to be ok. The nurse said it was just a flesh wound and that it didn't hit-"
She giggles, making me stop and admire her sound.
"I already know, Hoseok." Her hand softly touches my cheek. "When I was checked in, I asked right away if I was going to die or live."
I let out a laugh.
She nods. "How could I leave you anyway?"
I cried out loud and buried my face in her blankets. "Not like that! You can't! You'll make me cry the rivers again!"
Her hand stroked my head as I sobbed.
"I'm so sorry." She whispered, her tone getting lower.
I leaned up and grabbed her hands. "I love you, Soo Emi. Do you hear me? I love you!"
"I love you too, Jung Hoseok. I love you just as much."
