Soo Emi
I hummed as I felt my slumber come to a peaceful end. My dream slowly fading away and my eyelids fluttering open.
I turn to my side and reached over to move the blanket away from Hoseok's face, so I could give him my usual morning kiss.
But he wasn't there.
I leaned up and saw that I was the only one in this king sized bed.
Not thinking about it too much, I scratched my head and rose from the comfort of the blankets.
I walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day. My eyes were barely open as I was still adjusting to the morning sunlight that shined through the sheer curtains.
I leaned down and splashed cold water on my face, washing away the ugly eye crusts and drowsiness.
I looked up and dried my face off with a towel that was hanging near the sink.
Once my face was dry and my eyes could finally open normally, I find a sticky note stuck to the mirror right in front of my face.
Good morning, my beautiful
I hope you slept well
Because I'm preparing something for you :)
Come to the kitchen for a morning treat
Tingles run down my arms as I shake in excitement.
What does he have planned?
I continue to ready myself, not bothering to change into anything because I was too excited to see what the surprise was.
*
I hurry down the stairs and to the kitchen.
"Good morning, baby girl."
I softly squealed as I hear his mesmerizing voice from the kitchen.
I ran in and found him standing near the entrance with a welcoming grin. He was wearing a white button up and black dress pants.
"Good morning, handsome." I giggled. "I read the note. Are you my morning treat?"
"I could be. Wouldn't mind."
I laughed and ran into his arms.
He holds my body tightly and lifts me up for a quick spin. I laughed in joy when he did.
He sets me down and places a small kiss on my lips.
"Did you sleep well, babe?" He whispers, his forehead resting against mine.
"I did, but where did you go?"
"I wanted to surprise you with something."
"With what?"
Hoseok leans back and pulls a blindfold out of his back pocket.
I tilted my head. "A blindfold?"
"I'll lead you to the surprise, my baby girl. Turn around please."
I obeyed and soon my eyes were covered. I was gently pushed forward and I grabbed onto Hoseok's hand to make sure I wouldn't trip and fall on my face.
"Don't worry, I won't let you fall."
A door was opened and I stepped into the morning outdoors, feeling a slight breeze as I do.
"We're going outside?" I held my hands together eagerly. "This is new."
He brings me to a sudden stop and rests his hands on my shoulders.
"Alright. I'm taking the blindfold off now."
Hoseok removes the piece of cloth from my eyes, revealing a beautiful white table set, placed in the middle of the grassy yard.
My hands flew to my mouth as I gasped in awe.
Hoseok puts a hand on my lower back and leads me towards the table. "What do you think, Emi? We're going to have breakfast here."
"This is so pretty." I cooed and rested my head on his chest. "You're so sweet."
"This isn't the end, though. Take a seat." He pulls out a chair for me. "There's more coming."
I examine the decoration around and in front of me, getting quite blown away by how everything seemed straight out of an innocent children's book.
It was adorable.
"Good morning, my good friends!"
I jumped at the voice.
Almost like he teleported here, Seokjin stood by the table with a full white suit on, looking like a whole angel.
His hands were held together politely and he smiled at both of us.
"Thank you for choosing Kim Seokjin to take care of your breakfast responsibilities." He begins to laugh softly.
I laughed along with him.
I was enjoying this way too much.
Hoseok, on the other hand, looked like he was about to throw a vase at him.
Seokjin noticed and cut his laughter short.
"Shall we start with the main course? I think we shall. My waiter will bring out the delicious food!" He shouts, raising his hand to the sky.
I hear plates clinking and clanking behind me and I turned around.
Lucas, also in a fancy white suit, comes hurrying over with a huge covered plate, that almost looked weightless in his gigantic hands.
I held back a laugh from the sight of him.
"Be careful with the food, Lu- I mean, waiter!" Seokjin scolded and motioned him to slow down.
Lucas obeyed and began walking more smoothly to our table.
He stands on the opposite side of Seokjin and sets the plate down on the table.
"Dismissed." Seokjin waves him off.
Lucas nods. "Enjoy the food, customers-"
Seokjin shoots him a look.
"I-I mean...your highnesses?"
"Just go back to the kitchen!"
I mouthed a quick 'thanks' to Lucas before he ran back into the house.
"Enjoy, my pretties." Seokjin bows down before taking the cover off the plate, unveiling a bunch of little plates filled with all sorts of breakfast foods.
I actually drooled.
It smelled like food heaven.
*
"Come on, Seokjin, let me help clean up. It's the least I can do. That breakfast was literally the best." I rest my head on my hands. "Look, Lucas is over there struggling with the table. I should go help him."
"Emi, you stay right there and do not dirty your hands." Seokjin orders without a glance away from his dish washing.
"Dirty my hands?"
"I mean-"
"Is this table a million pounds!?" Lucas barges in with the white table in his shaking arms.
I stand up from my chair. "Let me help you!"
"No, no, I got it. It's alright." He turns away from me. "You might get a blister or something and we don't want that."
"You don't want that." Seokjin snorts.
I sat back down with a shrug. "What's wrong with me helping out? Is it because you think I'm weak?"
"Weak?" Seokjin and Lucas paused what they were doing and looked at each other.
"Hey, what's happening?" Hoseok walks in the room, his hand gripping a phone.
"Who were you calling? That was a pretty long call." I ask.
"Uh...it was-it was my...d-doctor..." He scratches his head. "Yeah, I need to exercise more...."
"Are you alright?"
"Anyway, what was happening here? I heard some shouting." He quickly dismissed my question.
I sighed. "I don't know. I just wanted to help them clean up, but they insist I don't for some reason."
Hoseok chuckles and sits besides me on the counter. "Babe, they're strong guys, they don't need help."
"Are you saying I'm not?" I crossed my arms.
"Y-You're not a-a guy."
HONK HONK!
"Oh! Did you hear that? Lucas and Seokjin, that's your ride! Your ride is here!" Hoseok jumps out of his seat and points to the front door.
"Shoot." Seokjin dries off his hands and throws the towel at the counter. "I need to get my phone!"
"What's happening? What was that?" I followed them in curiosity.
"I need to change my shoes!" Lucas screams.
HONK HONK!
Seokjin and Lucas both run up the stairs in such a hurry. Lucas trips over a step, causing Seokjin to almost trip over him.
"Get up, you nose! We can't waste anymore time!"
HONK HONK!
I walked over to the window to see who it was that kept honking.
Before I could open the curtains, I was snatched away and thrown over a shoulder.
"Let's play wrestle!" Hoseok cheers and drops me on the couch.
"Wait, Hoseok!" I yelp.
He pins me to the ground and starts tickling my sides. I screamed out in laughter and accidentally kneed his stomach.
Hoseok instantly stopped and groaned in pain. He falls off the couch with a loud thud.
I gasped. "Oh, no. I'm so sorry!"
Just then, Seokjin and Lucas rush down the stairs, wearing completely different clothing.
Seokjin was also carrying a very large bag.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked them as soon as they touched the doorknob.
They looked at each other, then back at me.
"We're going....to......" Seokjin turned to Lucas and pointed to me, motioning him to answer.
"We...We are....We...." Lucas froze in between his words.
"They-They're going on a date." Hoseok stammers, still on the ground in pain. "They're going on a date with each other."
"WHAT-" Lucas choked.
"Awh, you guys!" I cup my face. "That's so cute. Why didn't you just tell me? Oh, are you guys going to a picnic or something? Is that why you have that big bag?"
"You sure do ask a lot of questions." Seokjin awkwardly laughs.
Hoseok finally sits up with a hand on his stomach. "You should go! Stop wasting time! You'll want AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE to...do your date."
Lucas was still frozen in embarrassment and Seokjin drags him out of the house.
I stand up and went over to the curtains to watch them leave together.
"I knew there was a thing between them. I'll admit I'm a bit surprised they're going-AH!"
Hoseok grabs my hand and spins me around to his chest.
"Let's forget about them, babe." He whispers against the top of my head. "I have more surprises planned today."
I leaned back and smiled at him. "Really? What?"
"We'll have to take the car there."
"And?"
He laughs and spins me around again so my back was pressed against his chest.
He wraps his arms around me and leans down to my ear.
"I'll show you, but first...get changed."
*
*
I sat in the passenger seat with a blindfold covering my eyes.
Another blindfold? I guess Hoseok doesn't want me to see anything except surprises today.
First the breakfast in the backyard, then Seokjin and Lucas GOING ON A DATE, and now this?
He's spoiling me.....
What am I gonna do? Say no?
*
Meanwhile....
Jennie
"Namjoon and Yoongi, you two are in charge of the comforts. We need blankets, pillows, and more pillows." I pointed my pencil to my clipboard. "No white and not too fluffy. GO!"
Namjoon spun around and nearly tripped over a box of lights. Yoongi shakes his head and walks ahead of him.
I turn to Seokjin and Lucas. "And you guys got the food?"
"Yup, I got the main meals and dessert for later. It's on that table over there." Seokjin nudges Lucas. "Lucas got the drinks."
Lucas freezes with his eyes wide. "Oh, shoot."
"You got the drinks, right, Lucas?" I eyed him sternly.
"I-I forgot..."
"Come on, Lucas!" Seokjin groans. "When you went to the grocery store this morning, didn't you get the drinks?"
"I was busy getting the ingredients you told me to get while you were busy looking at the pink flip flops!"
"Alright! Alright!" I interrupt their useless argument with my hands in the air. "Stop wasting time! Lucas, go get the drinks. There's a store down the street. Hurry! And Seokjin, go prepare the food!"
They both scurry away in different directions.
I let out a breath of exhaustion. "These men...."
"Hey, Jennie!"
I looked up. "Jimin?!"
"Am I late-"
"Yes, you are! But it doesn't matter, we don't have time, how was your flight?"
"Hectic. The last minute flight Hoseok arranged was so rushed, but here am I. I can't believe Hoseok is gonna propose."
"Really? You can't believe it? I've literally been waiting for Emi to call me up and tell me to be her bridesmaid, but here I am, helping Hoseok propose. This cannot go wrong." I take a quick glance at my phone and almost choked on my breath. "We only have a couple hours left! Jimin, get the music taken care of and when you're done, help anyone else!"
"Got it."
"Taehyung and Jungkook, where are you guys?!"
I spin my head around before finding them besides a tree, playing with the lights.
"Stop messing around with those before they get tangled up!" I scold as I approach them. "Get them hung up. Those take the longest to set."
They obeyed and went off.
I checked the clock again.
"WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES, PEOPLE! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!"

Soo Emi
I think I'm standing inside a building. There's a lot of chattering and commotion.
It reminds me of my father's old office building.
Wait.
No way.
"It looks different, but it sure does feel the same." Hoseok sighs. "I still feel the exact same way I felt back then....with a little of nostalgia."
I take my blindfold off and my thoughts were right.
Here we are.
Standing in the lobby of my father's old workshop.
A rush of emotion wash over me as I looked around at this memorable place.
I'm back.
"It looks so...I can't believe I'm back. Wow..." I walked towards the front desk, Hoseok following closely behind me.
"Hello-"
"Oh, my goodness!" The front desk lady erupts from her chair in shock.
I jumped in shock too.
"You're Soo Emi! You actually came!" She gasps and holds a hand out for me. "I'm Chungha."
I shook her hand. "Hi. U-Uh, how do you know..."
"Everyone knows you. You're the daughter of the boss in this building! Well, old boss. Your father is still very well known here."
A smile came upon me.
"You must be Hoseok." She turns to my boyfriend and shakes his hand.
"Yes." He nods. "You're the one I talked to on the phone?"
"Yes, that was me. You wanted to see the-"
Hoseok holds a finger to his lips. "It's a secret. Emi hasn't seen it yet."
"Seen what?" I stare at them, dumbfounded.
Chungha gasps. "Right. Right. Of course, I apologize. Follow me."
*
"This is something to remember your father by...."
In front of me was a picture frame of my father. On both sides stood two huge, beautiful flowers and in the middle was a small table with a cupcake on top.
"I know it's small-"
"This is beautiful." I wrapped my arms around Hoseok's torso and cried on his chest. "I love it....and I miss him."
"Babe....I didn't want you to cry like this. Are you alright?"
I leaned back and wiped my tears. "I'm sorry. I just really miss him."
He moves my hair away from my face. "I know you do."
"This was a gift to him." Chungha says. "He created this building and even when he left, he managed to keep the work here alive. He may have made a mistake, but...he did a lot for the employees that work here now."
I nodded. "That's what he does."
"Our current boss was able to come in contact with him, which almost never happens, but we showed him this. He was touched and we also told him that we plan on showing his daughter this."
"It worked out perfectly." Hoseok kisses the top of my head. "Almost like a storybook."
I manage a smile through my tears.
"He said that when we show you this," Chungha points to the cupcake. "Put a cupcake there. I asked him why and he said that you'll understand. A gift from him to you."
"Oh, God..." I looked up to keep the waterfall from spilling out of my eyes.
"Here."
Chungha hands me a tissue and I take it with a laugh.
"This is amazing." I brought her in for a sudden hug. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
"It's not a problem, Emi. It's really the least we could do." She hugs me back. "If anything, you should thank your boyfriend."
I turn around and was immediately pulled in for a kiss on the lips.
He pulls away slowly and caresses my cheek.
"I know how much you miss your dad and how much it affects you. This is small, but I hope it lifts your spirit."
I rest my forehead against his chest. "Thank you. It's really amazing."
"And, that cupcake isn't going to eat itself." He chuckled and pointed to the small cupcake on the table.
Chungha grabs the cupcake and hands it to me.
I turned to Hoseok and held it in between us. "Bite it with me."
"You sure?"
I nodded.
We both leaned in at the same time, both opening our mouths to take a small bite of the sugary cupcake.
A bit of the cream got on the top of my lip and some got on his nose. We both laughed at each other.
He leans in and pecks my nose.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I got this small feeling that formed deep inside my soul. It felt like my father was telling me something.
"this man is someone you should eat all your cupcakes with"
But, that may just be the sugar talking.

Jung Hoseok
We exit the building, hand in hand, spirits high, and smiles bright.
I feel beyond elated with how Emi's reacting to all my surprises so far, but I have yet to ask her the question that will change hopefully both of our lives.
I'm so nervous.
"I need to make a quick phone call, babe." I kiss her cheek. "Wait for me by the fountain?"
"Ok."
I watched her walk down the steps before pulling my phone out and dialing Jennie's number.
She picks up immediately.
"Hey, Hoseok. What's up?"
"We're leaving the building right now. Are you guys finished?"
"Um, everything is mostly done. We just need to finish setting the food. We're also having problems with the lights, but I think we'll have that done soon. When will you guys get here?"
"We're walking there, so maybe in the next 30 minutes."
".....alright."
"Will you guys be done by then?"
"Most likely."
"Alright."
I hang up the phone and stuffed it deep in my pocket. My phone gets stopped midway by something hard.
"My ring box..." I mumbled and replaced it with my phone.
I open the box to check the ring. Not that anything could possibly happen to it, but I just want to make sure it's...perfect.
It is.
The jewel shined gorgeously.
I smiled softly as I imagine Emi's face when I show her this.
I'm so excited.
I place the ring back into my pocket and began to walk to my future wife.
I stopped.
She was talking to someone. Their back was towards me so I couldn't make out who it was.
I jogged over and Emi called me.
"Hey, Hoseok! Look who just popped out of nowhere!"
The man turned around.
"Joon?!"
