Soo Emi

"Namjoon!" I approach my best friend and give him a big hug. "You finally made it!"

"Hey, Emi." He accepts my hug with a chuckle. He steps back and check out my dress. "I see you went shopping without me."

"I tried, Namjoon!"

"I'm just messing around, you child. It looks good on you."

"Hmph."

"So, where's your date?" He looks around with his hand above his eyes.

"Stop." I whisper yelled. "He's not my date...and he's in the bathroom right now."

"You say he's not your date, but-"

Namjoon stops in the middle of his sentence and looks behind me.

"What?" I furrow my brows.

"Hoseok is looking at you like you just broke his knees or something." Namjoon whispers and looks back at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. He was giving me attitude when I got here, so I'm not surprised."

"And I see no lady around him. Maybe your assumption was wrong."

"Whether it's that girl from the store or other girls, they're going to be around him sooner or later." I crossed my arms. "But I don't care. I'm here with my good friends and he's not one of them."

"You made some new friends?"

I faked a laugh. "For your information, I made one. Her name is Naeun and she's super nice and super understanding."

"Understanding? So you told her about your marriage and divorce?"

"It just slipped."

"And she agreed with you and that's why you like her?"

"Did that rash get worse or something? Why are you questioning my social skills, bruh?"

"My rash is- Look, there's Seokjin, your date." Namjoon points ahead and starts walking towards him.

I follow besides him. "Shut up, would you."

The party room soon got filled with men and women from different companies around the area.

I got to meet some of them and they are all so nice and so polite, it made me feel better as a person because it means I'm not being so awkward with them.

Seokjin was with me the whole time though. He had me stuck at his hip as he introduced me to almost every guest.

I know I denied it before, but we can be mistaken as a couple.

His hand on around me the entire time. Whether it's around my shoulders, on my waist, hip, or lower back, he was very touchy with me.

But am I complaining?

Seokjin did say to pay attention him only and I took that seriously because I really didn't want to be stuck on that rude guy named Hoseok tonight.

Soon we got around and made small talk with mostly everyone. Seokjin wanted to go talk with his old friends, but I hung back to hang out with Naeun.

"I saw you two together." Naeun wiggled her brows. "He was being awfully...touchy."

I let out a nervous laugh. "Was it-Was it that obvious?"

"Girl, it was like he was telling everyone that you're his!" She nudged my side. "You seem to be ok with it too, considering you don't see him as a date."

"I don't know. He's being flirty and all, but he didn't say this was going to be a date."

"Sometimes, you don't have to call it a date for it to be a date."

"You seem to know your stuff." I giggle.

"Of course. I'm a Cupid."

"Really? So, where is your Prince Charming?"

"Not so much a Prince, but a Princess."

"Ah, I see. Who's the lucky lady?"

"She couldn't come tonight, but if you'd like, I could introduce you to her some time. It just sucks to be here alone and there are some hotties here, but if I give out loyal advice, I should stick to it myself."

"You are strong." I hold up a fist. "Want to get a drink?"

"Sure, what's good here?"

"Um...the soda is pretty good."

"Are you telling me that you've been only drinking soda here? Are you really serious?"

"It's my ex husband." I scoffed and leaned in closer. "I tried to drink some alcohol and he just snatched it out of my hand like he knows what's best for me. Then he told the bartender to get me a soda. And now every time I ask for something, they only give me soda."

"My senses are tingling!" Naeun gasps.

"Oh no, if you are going to tell me about his 'real feelings', I will puke."

"Ok, fine. I'll keep quiet...you have Seokjin now, so your ex can mess with someone else."

"Seems like he already is..."

I caught a glimpse of Hoseok standing in between 2 very beautiful women. They all had drinks in their hands and were laughing together.

I let out a huff and turned back to Naeun.

"Can you order our drinks? That way I'm not stuck with some plain old soda." I ask.

She nods.

She leaves me alone and I awkwardly  stand there with my hands intertwined with each other.

I was about to go find an empty table and be lonely there, but these 2 guys approach me with welcoming smiles on their faces.

"Hey there." One of them with pitch black hair greeted.

"Hey." I smiled back.

"I'm Woojin." He holds his hand out and I shake it.

"I'm Guanlin." The quiet one holds out his hand too.

I shake their hands and introduced myself too.

"You're Soo Emi. I hope to not sound creepy, but I remember you from back then." Woojin said with a hint of shyness.

I laughed. "Ah, yes."

"Yo-You look really nice." He says and look down.

Awh, he's so cute.

"Thank you. You two look fine yourselves." I looked at Guanlin.

He smiled shyly and looked away.

Relate.

"Your father was my father's inspiration." Woojin continued.

When he mentioned my father, all my attention went on him and what he had to say.

"Seeing how successful your father was, my father became motivated to work harder at his job to get promoted. And he did. He's now the CEO of Park Firm."

"That's amazing!" I reached over and touched his arm.

I notice him gulp as I touched him and his cheeks getting brighter.

"I work with him." Guanlin says, but goes back to being shy.

"What position are you in?" I ask him.

"Oh...um..."

"He works besides me. He's new, but he's a really good employee." Woojin helps his friend out.

I nod. "That must be fun. Being able to work alongside a really good employee and friend."

They both nodded.

Jung Hoseok

Soo Emi?

Talking to two guys?

And not being awkward?

That is the most surprising thing I've seen all day!

These girls around me were talking about irrelevant nonsense and I didn't bother to pay attention.

I'm never going to see them again, so I could care less about their life story of how they lost weight. I really don't care for these women. They just look approached me with drinks and complimented me, so I gave them some time.

But, my ex wife is right ahead of me, with two guys around her and that's what my mind is on at this moment.

"I'm gonna go." I abruptly hand my drink to a random girl's hand and walked off.

One of them grabbed my arm.

"Baby, where are you going?" She asks with a nasty purr.

"Away from you." I hissed and yanked my arm away.

I walked up to Emi and her guy friends.

"Hey, you guys." I casually greeted.

"Hello, Hoseok." Woojin and Guanlin both immediately greeted me and bowed their heads.

Oh, yeah, that's right.

They know me.

They respect me.

I lay my arm across Woojin's shoulders. "You met Emi?"

Emi gives me a really strong glare, like how she always does, and I only smile back.

"We were just talking." Woojin answers.

"Awesome. You recognize her?"

"Yeah. Her father is Soo Jae, the most successful-"

"No, no, Woojin. He's no longer the most successful. Haven't you been watching the news? He's the now the most unsuccessful. Sad, isn't it? That just teaches us how stupidity can ruin a life."

Guanlin opened his mouth, but only let out a surprised gasp.

Emi's jaw tightened and she spins around to stomp away from us.

I was a bit taken back because I was expecting her to say something to me or the guys, but she just left.

"Hoseok, why did you say that?" Quiet, little Guanlin asks.

I shrugged, my eyes still on the path Emi took.

"Should we go get her?" Woojin asks.

I shook my head. "Don't worry about her. She should be used to it."
