Dawn continues to shout at me, "Why do you betray me? You know the plan and yet you still act innocent."

"What plan?" I ask.

Dawn answers, "What a joke?! There's is only 4 of us here, drop your act."

Seriously, what plan? I never heard of it.

Dawn continues, "You cause the breakup, you destroy your own birthday party, and also you are a liar!"

"What?! You are referring to Ash and you?"

"Of course, or else?" Dawn fiercely replies.

"B-u-u-t, you are cheating on him, it is unfair to him!" I rebut.

"So concern about him, why not you go be his girlfriend?" Dawn replies.

Misty and May are both equally shocked by that statement. For me, I ponder on that question. Do I really like Ash? Is that the reason why I dont have feelings for Calem?

Dawn snaps me, "See, you like Ash."

"NO, NO" as I feel my cheeks burning up.

"I knew it!" May adds fuel to the fire.

"What? How?" I asks

Misty adds, "Well, since -"

Dawn cuts Misty, and says "Lets save our breath talking to this betrayer."

As Dawn, Misty and May approach the door, Dawn pushes me aside and leaves the room. I fall down onto the ground in shock. Am I truly in love with Ash? Or are they trying to fool me and place all the blame on me? I am so confused.

Then, my mum finds me squatting on the floor. (yes, she did stand there motionless) "Dear, are you alright? You look, uhm, a little depressed?"

"Oh, uh, it's nothing," I lied.

I continue, "Mum can I let my friends stay here for the night? He is uhm actually the one who he is depressed?"

"Oh, what happened?" my mum asks.

Then, I tell her everything about Ash from the start to her, excluding the part about me liking Ash, obviously

"Wow, what a dramatic ending. So how is Dawn now?" she curiously asks me.

"She is fine, dont worry," I reply.

"Then you better take care of Ash, mending broken love is tough." my mum Grace tells me.

"Thanks, mum," as I kiss her good night.

I return to Ash's room, only to find Gary resting next to Ash's bed. Phew, glad that Gary is around.

Next, I return to my own room and rest on my bed. Am I the sole reason why all this happen? If I had not shown Ash where Dawn is, will everything turn out alright? But Ash sooner or later will know. NOO, not that like-Ash part of me. But poor Ash, having to experience this love-hate thing when he transfers to this school.

After a long, while staring at the ceiling thinking about just now, I drift into sleep, also thinking about how to mend my relationship with Dawn. Will Dawn forgive me?

'Chirp chirp' my pokephone's alarm rings. Time for school.

I immediately rush to Ash's room, only to find Gary awake.

"Good morning Serena," Gary says

"Good morning too," I say

"Are you sure you are not going to school today?" I ask.

"Well, to take care of Ash, I am sure," Gary replies in a friendly tone.

"I think it is better for you to go to school, let me take care of Ash, anyways this is my home." I request.

"You sure about that? You are not going to school for Ash?"

"Actually the whole thing starts because of me, so I think I need to take some responsibility," I reply.

"If you insist, okay then."

After we say goodbye, Gary leaves my home for school. Feeling tired, I rest my head on Ash's bed directly next to Ash.

Ash POV

Despite being tired, I wake up several times during the night, only to find someone by my side. Since it is too dark, I could not see decipher who he/she was. 

This time, I am awakened by a nightmare. "NO, no, don't leave me Dawn, don't!" I cry. I jump up from my bed. The person whom I assume to have been by my side all the while, wake up too. To my surprise, she is Serena. She rubs her eyes, then asks, "Are you alright?".

I reply, "Yeah, just a nightmare."

"But I hear you shouting for Dawn!" Serena exclaim

"Really? No way." I say.

Serena then grabs my hand, "Your hand is hot."

"Your forehead is also very hot," as she moves her hand to my forehead.

"You must have caught a fever!" Serena posits.

"NO, I am fine." as I try to stand up from the bed, trying to prove that I am not sick. However, I almost fall down with Serena catching my hand.

"See, you are too weak to leave the bed, listen to me, stay on the bed," Serena explains.

"Okay if you say so." I concede as I have no other options.

"Give me a moment and I will go down find some Panadol for you," Serena says as she leaves the room.

After a moment, she returns with a wet cloth, a  packet of Panadol and a glass of water.  I slowly prop myself up from the bed as Serena hands me a glass of water. After repeated attempts to lift my other hand, Serena says, "Why dont I feed you the pill?"

"But-" I try to reply.

"No buts," She replies.

She slowly places the pill into my mouth, then I drink the whole glass of water. The moment when Serena feeds me the pill, my thoughts bring me back to the first encounter with Dawn at my home where I landed on top of her. Our lips almost met. Then the times I had with Dawn instantly flow through my mind. 

Luckily, Serena snaps out of it. "ASH," as Serena waves her hand in front of my eyes.

"Sorry," as I apologies.

"What are you thinking, Ash?" she curiously asks me.

"Uhm, nothing"

"Dont lie, your left eye twitches"

"Ok, ok, it is about Dawn."

"Ash, wake up, Dawn does not like you, even from the start, he is just making use of you!" Serena making her stand.

"I know"

"Get over it, forget about her." Serena firmly says

"But I will still see her in school."

Serena becomes worried, then grabs my hand, but I resist it. "Ash," Serena cries

"Dont care about me, just leave me alone." I firmly request.

Serena, visibly sad, leaves the room. 

I just cannot let anyone around me gets affected by me. This is my problem and I have to face it myself. It was my foolishness that let me to falling into Dawn's study trap. It was my desire for love. It was my stubbornness. Why is it me? 

I slowly drift into my sleep due to the drowsiness effect of the medicine taking effect. 

The next moment I wake up, I find a cloth being placed onto my forehead. I look at the time, it is 12 noon. Soon, Serena opens the door. Our eyes meet. "Ash, you just wake up, do you want to have some lunch?" Serena asks.

"I am not that hungry," I reply, trying to reject her offer despite being hungry. 

However, my stomach gives in and growls. Serena starts to giggle. "Okay, what lunch have you prepared?" 

"Well, we could have some pasta since that's what this mansion have left," Serena suggests.

"Okay then," I reply.

After finishing our lunch and chatting on topics unrelated to Dawn, Serena says, "Wait a moment, I have prepared some deserts."

"What is it?" I curiously ask, not remembering anything Serena said about desserts.

"Tada, how about some macarons?"

"You made them?" I asks

"Yes, freshly baked from the oven."

"But..." I stop talking.

"What is the problem?"

"They do not look nice from the outside" I honestly say.

"Thats why today you are the guinea pig, I have only tried baking them several times."

"Oh, I see, okay I will give it a try." as I munch one small bite, in case they are really bad.

"How is it?" Serena asks.

I choke, "They are too sweet, did you add too much sugar?" I ask.

"Really?" as Serena tries one bite. 

"Oh, they are really very sweet,"

"But they are not as sweet as you, haha," I say.

"That's a bad joke, haha"

After laughing for a while, Serena hands me another pill.

"Do I really need to eat again?" I ask.

"Yes,"

I unwillingly eat the pill. Subsequently, we pack our bags and leave Serena's mansion for our homes. We board a bus that sends us straight to our homes. Along the way, Serena confesses that she now has a boyfriend named Calem.

"About time Serena, I heard someone wooing you all along," I say.

"Well, honestly I rejected him so many times until yesterday,"

"Wow!"

We continue chatting, sometimes diverge into various topics.

Before Serena alight from the bus, I say, "Serena, thank you for today!"

She replies, "You are welcome!"

Well, this time I decided not to add a clinghanger. But more things are coming in the next chapter. I even pre-name the next chapter 'Her' (if you did not notice this chapter name is Him)
