Serena POV

After sitting down on the audience seat, beside me are all my friends, Dawn, May and Misty. I ask, "What are you all doing here?"

Dawn says, "Beats me, Calem invited us all."

Misty says, "Seems like a Pokemon Battle will happen."

May says, "Yeah, even the boys are all here!"

The judge whom I recognise as Jason then says, "this will be a one-on-one Pokemon Battle between Calem and Ash. Both participants are only allowed the usage of only one Pokemon and whichever Pokemon faints first, will lose. Now, please show your Pokemons!"

"Raichu, I need your assistance!" Calem shouts first as he throws his Pokeball high up in the air.

"Rai, Rai!" it says. The dark orange rodent Pokemon appears out of the Pokeball. It is much fatter, bigger, and bulkier than a Pikachu Its tail is also much longer than Pikachu's too. I clasp my hands together in worry

Ash shouts next, "Time to show him what we are made up, let's go Pikachu!"

"Pika, Pi!" it says as it jumps off Ash's shoulder excitedly.

"Let the battle begin!" Jason says.

A VS screen now appears on the two televisions both on top of us and in front of us.

Calem says, "I shall let the weakling starts first!"

Ash replies, "It is my honour, Pikachu, thunderbolt!"

Clemont, sitting in the row in front of me, shouts, "Wait, why is Ash using thunderbolt? He should know it is not effective on Raichu."

Paul says, "Pathetic."

Drew says, "Interesting."

Knowing that thunder type moves wont do much damage to a thunder type Pokemon, I start to worry more, as I do not want Ash to lose.

Calem shouts, "Idiot, Raichu, take it head on!"

Ash says, "Pikachu, quick attack!"

Upon hearing Ash, I see Pikachu scoring a direct and powerful hit on Raichu, causing smoke to appear.

Paul says, "Not strong enough."

His words raise many eyebrows within the gang, demanding an explanation.

Paul then explains, "You see, Raichu has a rather big belly in front, so scoring a quick attack there will not do much damage, pathetic."

After the smoke clears out, what Paul says was right. Raichu is still standing up, wiggling its tail.

"Raichu, show him a real quick attack, QUICK ATTACK!" Calem shouts.

"Pikachu, quick attack too!" Ash screams in response.

The two Pokemon clash, battling for their pride with all their might and power. However, the next moment, my Pikachu is being pushed away. It fly all the way, hitting the wall behind me.

Calem shouts, "See, your Pikachu is too weak against my Raichu."

My palms start to sweat more.

Paul once again says, "Pathetic, I think I shall leave now." as he is able to stand up from his seat

I shout at Paul, "NO PAUL, Ash will win!"

Paul says, "How? By power alone? Impossible."

A thought immediately speeds past my brain. Ash must use more than just power, he needs the surprise element.

I shout across to Ash, "ASH USE YOUR SPEED!"

Ash sort of understands and launches his next attack, "Agility!"

Clemont says, "That is smart of him as it raises the speed of Pikachu."

Calem says, "Useless, Raichu use your tail to trap Pikachu!"

After several tries, finally Raichu's tail catches Pikachu off guard. Pinning Pikachu on the ground, Raichu gives Pikachu an evil smirk. It sort of works as Pikachu becomes scared and panicked. 

"THIS IS OUR CHANCE, RAICHU, HYPERBEAM," Calem screams at the top of his lungs.

Gary questions us, "Did he just said hyperbeam?"

May replies "Yes, he did."

I ask, "What is wrong?"

Clemont adjusts his glasses and replies me, "Well, hyperbeam is very strong move. By immobilising Pikachu with its tail and yet keeping a distance away from Pikachu, Calem is making sure his move is a 100% hit and at the same time not letting Raichu receive any damage."

"Oh no, Ash is in deep trouble." I say.

Paul coldly says, "Very rarely, can a Pikachu survive a direct hyperbeam, let alone a rookie."

Dawn asks, "Is this the end?"

Before anyone could reply Dawn, the hyperbeam has been launched at Pikachu which is still stuck under Raichu's tail.

"THUNDERBOLT" someone shouts.

"USELESS!" another voice shouts.

"BBOOOMMM!" 

A thick smoke surrounds the battlefield, no one knows what had happened.

"Pikachu, quick, use quick attack." Ash screams.

Paul stands up and explains, "WHAT, even I know, Pikachu has fainted in this scenario, how is it possible that Ash is still giving Pikachu commands?"

"Ug, ug ,ug" is all we hear from the smoke. "This must mean that Pikachu is still battling!" I shout.

Clemont says, "Well, I just know how it all occurs."

Gary and the others in a hurry say together, "Explain yourself."

Clemont starts explaining, "Well, you see hyperbeam is indeed a very strong and damaging move, however, Ash uses thunderbolt to mitigate most of the damage. Also, he is now taking advantage the fact that hyperbeam requires time for Raichu to recharge, hence he is now launching attacks on Raichu."

Gary comments, "This Ash amazes me so much!"

Dawn says, "That is because he is using his theory to his practical!"

After the smoke clears out again, I see both Raichu and Pikachu looking exhausted from the battle. "I must admit, being able to escape from that powerful hyperbeam is good. But you need more than good to win me!" Calem shouts across the battlefield.

"I am excellent!" Ash shouts in reply.

"We will see about that, THUNDERBOLT" Calem exclaims.

"Pikachu, use thunderbolt too!" Ash shouts.

As I see the two attacks clash with great force, I catch a glimpse of both Ash and Calem. Their desire to win are different. Their expressions are different too...

Since neither parties are willing to give up, their attacks yet again end up in an explosion, but this time, we, as audience, experience the sheer force of the thunderbolts. The force not only blow directly to our faces, it also sends both Pokemon to the walls behind them out from the smoke.

My hands now sweat even more. I start to feel bad for the Pokemon as they have to suffer the pain. Dawn then kindly places her hand over mine and says, "Dont worry Serena, everything will be fine."

"I hope so."

"Raichu, get up!" Calem demands his Pokemon.

"Pikachu, please, I know you are tough!" Ash says loudly.

Soon, both Pokemon get up. "Raichu  Volt Tackle lets go!" Calem screams.

"RAI ,RAI!" the bigger rodent Pokemon says.

"Pikachu, use quick attack to dodge it." Ash screams.

"Pika!" the smaller rodent Pokemon says.

Raichu charges up itself with yellow light around itself and dashs itself towards Pikachu with great strength and power while Pikachu tries to dodge Raichu's strike. I say, "It seems like Raichu and Pikachu are playing hide and seek!" as Raichu chases after Pikachu who consistently dodges Raichu.

Clemont says, "What a clever move, Ash is trying to wear out Raichu."

Before anyone could comment on Clemont's words, Calem shouts, "Use your tail, NOW."

Totally unexpected, Raichu manages to slam Pikachu hard down again on the battlefield. I can see that Ash now sweatdrops as he is caught in the same situation again.

Gary says, "Not again."

Calem shouts, "HYPERBEAM!"

Ash shouts, "THUNDERBOLT!"

"BBOOOMM"

All of us are now standing on our seats, eagerly waiting for the results.

As the smoke clears, only one faint image appears standing up. And that is Raichu!

Jason says, "Pikachu is unable to battle, which means the victory goes to Calem and his Raichu!"

The two screens now animates to show "Calem, Victory!"

Only his friends all stand up cheering for Calem's victory. They throw up many things in celebration. On the other hand, we sit down after knowing Pikachu faints. We are all saddened by Ash's defeat. Paul then says, "Well, at least Ash puts up a good fight despite being at a disadvantage."

Unable to control my emotions, tears start to drop from my eyes. Dawn notices my sobbing and pats my back. I literally switch off, unaware of my surrounding. After all the preparations and training, yet Calem still comes out on top, better than Ash.

My saddness soon turns into anger. I immediately get up from my seat and rush down to where Calem is.

Ash POV

The judge says, "Pikachu is unable to battle, which means the victory goes to Calem and his Raichu!"

I immediately run to where Pikachu is and pick it up like a baby. I whisper to it, "You did your best!"

The judge says, "Here is a cheri berry, take it."

Confused, I ask, "What is it for?"

"Oh, it is to cure your Pikachu's paralysis."

"How is it paralysised?" I ask.

He kindly explains, "Due to Raichu's static ability, my Pikachu has become paralysised but it only came into full effect when Raichu was able to pin Pikachu down the second time. Hence, Calem was able to launch a full power hyperbeam."

Calem walks over to me and says cockily, "Told you, you will lose."

Suddenly, Serena comes out of nowhere and gives Calem a slap on his left cheek, a big hit!

Calem reacts by placing his left hand on his injured side and stars at Serena. "How dare you!" he shouts at Serena.

Serena yells back at Calem, "THAT ONE IS FOR ASH!"

"Ash is the loser, Serena you are supposed to now stand on my side not his." Calem explains.

"I WILL NEVER STAND ON YOUR SIDE!" Serena shouts at Calem.

"Serena, you force me!" Calem says

Finally, the rest of the gang have arrived at the battlefield.

The door behind me is unlocked causing the whole gang to turn around. Officer Jenny comes into my sight and asks, "Which of you are Ash Ketchum?"

Initially, the whole gang looks at each other and agrees not to disclose me. However, Calem says pointing to me, "This guy, the one with a cap and raven hair!"

Officer Jenny quickly approaches me, "Ash, you are under arrest for competing in an underage Pokemon Battle!" as she places her handcuff over my both hands and locks it.

"What? CALEM!!!" I shout at Calem.

Calem looks back at me and says, "You deserve it!"

Serena once again with her foul language, "CALEM, YOU ARE SUCH A BITCH!"

Calem calmly replies, "So what?"

Serena feels like punching Calem again, but is luckily held back by Drew and Paul.

Calem teases her, "Come try me, I report you to Officer Jenny right now!"

"Ughh," Serena breaks free from Drew and Paul hands.

I could tell she now feels hopeless, useless, all the -less words.

I whisper softly Dawn, "Help me take care of Serena, thank you."

She nods her head in response as Officer Jenny brings me away from the gang...

I have actually rush this chapter yesterday so that I can publish this today. As a matter of fact, 3rd February is my birthday! But hold your horses, dont start throwing buses at me for using my birthday as Calem's.

I just want to tell you readers that sometimes in life, love is a very complex matter. In this case, what Calem wants to do is that since he is unable to have Serena for himself, he will use all means to prevent others, in this case, Ash, from obtaining Serena, hence, organising this battle and even attempt to throw him in jail.
