Ever since Zane was a child, He had a best friend. Her name was Sapphire Toleial Maye, He picked it out himself! She loved the name as it was picked by her best friend, So she stuck with it.

She did also go by Kikyo Lily, By that's not the point. Zane and Sapphire had a good friendship, They spent all of their time together.

Oh wait--. I'm sure you're curious by the 'He picked it out himself!' Line, Well. Sapphire Toleial Maye, Is Zane's imaginary best friend.

So here's Sapphire's backstory that he came up with:

"You're uh, a demon! That was kicked out of the underworld because you wanted to erm... To be a human! And that's against the law down there!" Five year old Zane yelled to the brightly colored in four year old figure sitting in front of him.

Sapphire had giggled as she nodded at him. "Yeah, That's nice!" She squeaked, smiling at him while looking at Zane's grin. It's weird for Sapphire to think, as she does have her own thoughts.

Zane had put so much work into making Sapphire perfect enough to where she has her own thoughts, words, actions and more.

"Your mom was a human who was married to an abusive man, though he only got abusive when your mom died in a fire that you accidentally started." Zane says, his grin slowly fading.

"ZuZu!" Zianna, Zane's mother, chirped to the small boy. Though both of them looked over at her, Zianna not seeing Sapphire.

"Yes mama?" Zane asked, turning his full attention to his mother, causing Sapphire to lose some of her color.

Zianna gently smiled. "What are you doing sweetheart?" She asked, walking over to her son as he turned to face Sapphire, who bursted into color as he did.

Zane gave a grin to Sapphire before turnimg back to Zianna. "I'm talking with Sapphire!" He smiled.

"Sapphire?" His mother questioned, looking at the empty space where Sapphire sat.

"Mhm! She's my friend!" Zane giggled, looking at said female.

"Ah.. Is she imaginary?" Zianna asked, to which he answered. "If that's what you call it but I see her and she's very pretty and colorful!"

Zianna smiled and placed a hand on Zane's head, ruffling his short black hair. "Just don't forget about her."

And oh.. Did Zane forget about her? Not for a few more years but once he hit thirteen, she started fading from his mind.

"Zane!" Sapphire smiled, sitting on Zane's bed as he played on his laptop.

"..." Zane didn't reply, his mind was too on the game he was playing that her color was fading more. "Zane?"

Sapphire stood up and walked over, leaning over his shoulder to see what he was doing as she looked at him.

Zane mumbled something as he lost the round of whatever he's playing and restarted it, rubbing his left eye before continuing.

Sapphire pouted and poked his cheek to which he brushed her hand away. "Stop it Sapp." He said while his eyes were glued to the screen.

"Pay attention to me?" Sapp said- more like asked as she looked at him before glancing to her fading hands.

"I'm doing something." Zane scoffed, turning to Sapp. "God, you're so dull-looking."

Sapp looked down at the floor, pouting as Zane chuckled and continued his game.

So Zane is now fifteen, and Sapp was gone from his mind as he was talking with some girl with pink hair and cat ears. Sapphire was flying around before being sucked into a girl's mind as the girl sat in a hospital bed.

"Ah! It worked!" The girl smiled, looking at Sapphire with sparkling eyes. The girl had long brown hair that was twisted into a loose messy bun, bright teal eyes with pale skin that was covered in freckles. Two black feline ears twitched on the girl's head while a matching tail swayed behind her.

"What's your name?" This girl asked, smiling kindly at Sapphire who gave a small smile back.

"My name is Sapphire Toleial Maye, what's yours?" Sapp asked, looking at the girl in the hospital gown.

"Nekomai Rengo Hadosai!" The girl, now known as Nekomai, chirped happily while holding her pale and freckle covered hand to Sapphire.

"Pretty.." Sapp mumbled while shaking Nekomai's hand gently, smiling as Zane was now fully gone from her mind.

Nekomai giggled before patting the space in front of her for Sapphire to sit, Who glanced at it then at Nekomai as she wasn't treated like this for years.

"Y-you want me to.. Sit there?" Sapphire asked, looking at the space as Nekomai smiled and giggled while nodding happily while Sapphire scrambled to sit in front of the feline hybrid.

So Nekomai was out of hospital now and was seventeen, Sapphire was still brightly colored in while spending all of her time with Nekomai, causing Sapphire to grow feelings for her. Yes, An Imaginary Object having a crush on a person.. It's crazy but She does, and She didn't care.

Oh! Nekomai made a new friend! The name of the person, Well..

Zane Ro'Meave.

Nekomai had bumped into him while walking to her art class, being lost as she was new there, and that's where it began of the friendship of Nekomai Rengo Hadosai and Zane Ro'Meave.

Sapphire was still Nekomai's best friend, nothing could top her in anything, not her chores, not her homework, not her childish games. Sapphire and Nekomai are very close, and they both loved it.

Ah so, You're wondering about Zane? Well here it comes--

"Hey Zane!" Nekomai chirped, walking up behind him with Sapphire following before some of her color faded as she saw Zane again. For the first time in years. She saw her first friend,

Who forgot about her.

Who insulted her.

Who laughed if she got hurt, falling of something.

Who didn't care at age fifteen.

Zane turned around and smiled under the mask he was wearing, seeing his friend.

'Wow.. He wears a mask?' Sapphire thought, swirling around him as Nekomai's eyes followed her.

"Nekomai?" Zane asked, seeing her eyes move quickly as she looked at his body- More like, the body surrounding his.

Nekomai snapped her head as she stopped looking at Sapphire, noticing her color faded. "Uh.. Yes?" She answered, her right ear twitching as she looked into Zane's non-covered blue eye.

"Why were you looking.. At my, body?" Zane asked, gesturing to his figure as his face flushed a slight pink.

"I'm not looking at you! I'm looking at Sapphire!" Nekomai says, stomping her foot as Said female who behind Zane, was physically face-palming.

Zane's face was twisted into confusion before.. Joy? "S-Sapphire?" He mumbled his question out, gripping his bag strap.

"Yes! Sapphire! She's my best friend!" Nekomai yelled, smiling proudly as Sapphire walked behind the seventeen year old and hid behind her as Nekomai's eyes followed her, turning her head to face Sapphire and smiling happily.

Zane, who was almost tearing up from everything he's done to Sapphire, started laughing, trying to seem rude. "Who?" He scoffed. "An Imaginary friend? You're seventeen, grow out of it!"

"Never!" Nekomai shouted, grabbing Sapphire and hugging her tightly.

Sapphire's eyes filled with tears as she hugged Nekomai back, mumbling something under her breath..

"I love you.."
