Prologue: The Enigmatic Being

-------------------------------------------------------------

*Revolutionary Army Base*

3rd Pov.

At a time of a war. A war between two.
The Revolutionary Army and a corrupted Empire.

Here in the southern region far from the Empire, an army led by three leaders who are defected and chose to fight for the sake of the future.

"General Najenda."

A soldier enters.

"Report."

Said the General.

General Najenda is one of the leaders out of the three who commands the Revolutionary Army.

She once another general during her time in the Empire and nothing more the less until she discovers the truth and understand the corruption that was cast upon the people of the Empire.

"Our unit has discovered an entrance within the excavation site we've took control of from the Imperial Forces.

"A entrance you say?"

Najenda thought to herself.

"To where?"

She asked.

"We took the option to not investigate until we were given orders."

The soldier responded.

"I see.."

Najenda nodded.

"Prepare a transportation for me. I'd like to see this entrance myself.

"Understood."

Then, the soldier makes his leaves and went on ahead to prepare a vehicle for the General.

Soon, Najenda writes down the report.

"Boss."

Najenda looks up ahead and see a young girl with long black hair that reaches down to her knees.

"What is it Akame?"

"I've heard something about an excavation site. Do you plan on investigating it yourself?"

Akame asks.

"Yes. Figured I'd see for myself. Afterall, it's a bit unusual to hear about an entrance buried deep within sites these days."

".. I take it that you wish to tag along as well?"

Najenda asks before taking out a box of cigar from her pocket.

"For your sake by all means of necessary."

Akame nodded.

"If that's what you want then I won't stop you."

Najenda then puts a cigar in her mouth and lights it up.

"I'll be there in a bit, so go on ahead."

With that being said, Akame nods and makes her leave.

"I wonder what might be hidden within.."

*Time skip to the mine*

-------------------------------------------------------------

After being transported to the mines, both General Najenda and Akame stood there to see the cave that leads to the entrance.

From the outside, it was a whole excavation site, with many soldiers/miners digging and transporting materials to another.

"Any unusual activity?"

Najenda asks a member who's overseeing the site.

"Nothing so far from the outside."

"I've had volunteers who chooses to join you as you venture inside, General."

Said the Overseer.

"I appreciate it."

Najenda nods before signaling Akame that the two will now enter the cave with the volunteers.

"This way, General."

One of the volunteers made his way first inside as General Najenda and Akame followed.

.

.

As they continued their way inside the cave, Akame began noticing something strange.

She stopped in her tracks and looked away, which made everyone stop and look at her.

"Is something wrong Akame?"

The General asked.

"The air..."

"The air?"

"Its.. Cold."

Akame responded.

"Its nothing unusual. We began noticing that as our miners kept on digging forward."

Said one of the followers.

"I see.."

"Then let us proceed with caution."

The General nods before looking at the guide and signal him to continue on, but with caution.

.

.

"We're here."

In front of everyone was a large gateway that contains unique patterns engraved on it's material.

"After discovering this, we thought to at least dig out a few sample for analysis. but our equipment aren't capable of making a small dent nor hole."

Said the guide.

"Have you looked around for access?"

The General asks.

"No, we haven't found any clues yet."

As General Najenda and the guide were have a discussion, Akame couldn't help but look around.

She placed her hand on the gate and felt the material to have some kind of wavy feeling.

Then-.

"Rumbling*

Suddenly, the cave started rumbling and Akame backed away as quickly as she can before witnessing the gate to open by itself.

"!?"

Everyone stood their guard and waited as if they expected something to come out immediately.

"..."

But nothing came out.

"What did you do?"

The General asked.

"I'm not sure. All I've done was place my hand on the gate and feel its texture."

Akame answered.

Soon, there were lights being lit up from the inside.

"You men return to the surface and tell the guards that I request a few armed soldiers."

"Understood."

The Guide and the other followers makes their exit, leaving both General Najenda and Akame alone.

"You and I will press on and explore for the time being."

Akame nods at the General.

Once the two entered inside, the air suddenly became colder for them.

The two of them began looking around to where they've found interesting artifacts that seem to be viewed as trophies.

One they found interesting was actually glaive, but it was covered in dust and was very rusted on top of that.

Another they found were painting that seems to have a meaning to them, but doesn't look like they really understood it.

"Boss."

"What is it Akame?"

Najenda walked up to Akame from behind and see her kneeing down.

Apparently she was kneeing down towards a skeletal corpse.

"It looks like that this person has been decayed for centuries."

Said Akame.

Najenda examines the corpse to see that there were some belongings intact.

She took a closer look at the belonging and see that it belongs from pieces of an animal or some sorts.

"A claw?"

Akame stared.

Najenda snatched the claw out of the corpse and looked closer-.

"ssshhaaaaaaaaa..."

Suddenly, noises were made.

Both Akame and Najenda stood up and readied themselves to where they were expecting something to happen.

"..."

But nothing.

"Nnneeezzzzzz.."

A voice was heard.

"Nez?"

Akame thought to herself before looking at the General where she was looking at a directly.

"Akame.."

"What is it?"

Akame responded.

"Has that pathway always been there before?"

The General asks, where Akame looks at the same direction as her boss and see that there was a pathway even though it looked like they didn't see that place yet.

"I don't believe so."

Akame answered.

Then, the General walks towards the direction.

Akame was about to ask questions, but mainly assumed that her boss might've found something.

So, the two continued and went on to explore that place specifically.

.

.

As the two kept searching around, they finally came across a large doorway that was sealed shut with no way to access inside.

"Whoever was here did not want anyone to go through this doorway specifically for sure."

Said Najenda.

"Akame."

She called out.

But Akame did not respond.

"Akame?"

Najenda looked at Akame to see that she was staring at a giant worm that was cut and sealed.

On top of that, she was drooling as well.

"She can't be serious, is she...?"

Then-.

*Rumbling*

Suddenly, the doorway opened itself.

"!?"

From inside, both Akame and Najenda began hearing the sound of...

Someone breathing?

"Hear that?"

"Yes."

They both slowly entered the dark room and the lights begun to light itself.

With the lights on, they had a better view and looked around.

Clearly, there was nothing except all they see is a coffin in the center of the room.

And...

There was someone laying on top of it.

With caution, Akame and Najenda approached the coffin slowly.

Once they got closer, they examined the body.

From the looks of it, there were some missing body parts.

"This is supposed to represent a tomb for 'this' here."

Said Najenda.

"But why..? Why hide this? And for what reason?"

She asked herself.

Akame on the other hand, was inspecting the body, touching it's joint and checking it's pulse.

Soon, she noticed something written on the side of the coffin.

"The Purest Light..."

She read it.

Najenda looked on her side and see that her side has some writing as well.

"The Darkest Hour..."

She murmured.

"The Final God of Pain."

.

.

"Nezarec"

The two spoke together.

Suddenly, whispers were being made and they became much louder and louder.

"!?"

And for a quick second, they stopped.

Until-.

*BOOM*

An explosion was caused from the corpse, pushing back Akame and Najenda.

As the explosion was slowly clearing away, the two tried their best to regain their senses before seeing someone on top of the coffin.

Once everything was clear, they saw someone that looked so...

Enigmatic.

The enigmatic being slowly opened it's six eyes, although knowing that only two were lost.

It rises up with it's severed parts before having to lose it's own balance and collapse on the floor.

"..."

It was shaking as if it was being taken over by someone or something.

"General Najenda!"

Suddenly, the armed soldiers that Najenda requested showed up.

"EVERYONE! STAY BAC-!"

*SWOOSH*

With complete shock, the enigmatic being dashed out of the room into particles at an incredible speed that it appeared outside the surface of the cave.

"WHAT THE-!?"

Ignoring the miners, it dashed once again into particles and escaped to where no one couldn't even begin to chase after it.

Back to everyone inside the cave, Akame, Najenda and the armed soldiers rushed to the surface.

"Where did it go!?"

The security and mines were looking around, trying to the one who escaped.

"It got away."

Najenda murmured.

"What're we going to do?"

Akame asks.

"I'm not sure..."

Najenda replied.

"All I know is that, that 'thing' is going to be an issue to deal with. Both us and the Empire."

She said.

"Best for us to not cross paths with it."

The General then faces towards all the miners and soldiers/guards.

"Alright everyone! Seal the site! We must not let the Imperial Forces find this place at all cost!"

*Somewhere*

-------------------------------------------------------------

After escaping from the excavation site, the enigmatic being stopped in its tracks before collapsing on the ground

From all of that, it appears at the side of a river.

Soon-.

"Argh..."

It coughed out blood.

"Haa... Haaa...."

It's body was dying out due to the missing pieces.

Then-.

"Hey. Are you okay there?"

A young child appeared in front of it.

"H-... Help.. Mee.."

The enigmatic being spoke.

And with no remorse within coming from the being, it clenched onto the child and-.

*SSSSHBLAMM*

A shine of bright light was caused between the two.

Once the light was fading, a young muscular boy who seemed to be around sixteen-nineteen was born.

"Haa..."

He breaths out and opens his eyes.

He senses no pain nor anything inside his body.

Then, the boy looks at his hands to see what he has now become.

"Human..."

The boy murmured before raising himself up and look at himself in the river's reflection.

His appearance was shown to be tanned with white and silver-like color as his hair along with his true physical feature of having dark ageless golden eyes.

"Hm.. I truly am one... Fascinating"

He said to himself as he looks up at the bright sky.

"How... Beautiful."

The flowing sound of the river, the sky shining, the music of birds, all gathered in one place.

A realization would soon come across his mind,

"Was... This place always... Like this?"

He asked himself as his view and aura was at ease for an unknown reason.

"How many centuries has it been?"

-------------------------------------------------------------

God it feels so good to just write after months.

And jesus christ I am so sorry for not publishing shit in so long like holy hell.

Bungie, I blame you for doing this to me. (I love you tho).

Honestly, school really has been a pain in the ass and I barely have time to even write stuff.
Not to mention the fact that I'd be working at my job as well.

But overall, I'm so glad I was able to just come back to writing for once.

Anyway, I really hope you guys enjoy this first returning rework of my Akame Ga Kill fanfic. (That I literally scrapped and forgot).

Make sure to vote and leave a comment if you like and I'll see you in the next one!
