A/N: I can't believe that we're in season 4 (my favorite season), I just wanna say thank you for being here and supporting this fic (even if it just reading). Again, thank you for the love and support and enjoy this chapter.

Third person pov.

Several months have passed since Woodbury, the remaining citizens of Woodbury have joined Rick's group at the prison. Rick has resigned his role as leader to take on farming—they manage to turn the prison into a sanctuary for everyone.

People smiled again, they laughed, they shared meals together under the sky (or inside)—the sound of people chattering mixed with birds chirping...along with the growls of the walkers.

There's still more walkers coming but they're easily taken out by the residents, it seemed that no matter how many they killed—more and more just came in.

Overall everything felt semi normal.

Michonne had been out a lot, constantly searching for the Governor who vanished after Woodbury fell—it's assumed that they're plotting a plan for revenge.

So far, nothing.

In one of the cell blocks Nyla lay on top of Daryl's stomach, both of these friends have changed after the Woodbury fell—Daryl's hair started to grow out, a few gray hairs form on his beard. In contrast to Nyla who's now three years old with her black fur darken with a few scars hidden by her fur.

Time has mostly been kind to them, for now.

While sleeping through the morning Nyla's ears twitch when she hears tiny chatter and shushing, she slowly opens her blue eyes to see three blurry small figures—she closes her eyes again. Not a minute later she felt small pressure on her stomach and up to her neck, then a soft chew on her ears. She flicks her head while accidentally hitting something "Ow." She heard.

Finally opening her eyes she saw her son Levi. "It's time to get up, Mama." He softly whispers to her. Lifting her head slightly she saw Koda and River sitting patiently with their big eyes and small tail wagging, with a heavy sigh she spoke "Okay okay give me a few minutes."

The three left with their small "Yay" Nyla groaned and fell back to her side.

◤──•❉🏹❉•──◥

After five minutes Nyla finally got up from the cell block with Daryl, her puppies were already gone, at 7 ½ weeks old they're full of energy and awareness—Nyla did tell their pups to stay where she could see them and far from the fence where the walkers were.

"And remember, away from the fence!" She reminds them. But they're long gone.

From her right Nyla heard a slight chuckle "Kids huh? They're stubborn to the bone." Approaching her was Delta, a saarloos wolfdog from Woodbury, he's more of a stray that everyone will feed on occasion.

"Yeah, they can be." Nyla agrees while scratching her ears.

The two sit on the concrete floor and watch little children playing with a ball with Nyla's pup, the husky takes in the morning air. "So, how's your morning been?" Delta asks her.

She huffs. "If you count having three pups waking you up. Then yeah, my morning is going well." They both laugh at that.

From afar, Snowy looks on with a hint of jealousy in his eyes. Ever since Woodbury, the two haven't been around each other since, Snowy is now starting to worry whatever they have was fizzling out like a dying fire.

"Nyla!" The husky heard Daryl's calling for her.

"Shit, 'Brother' calling." She told him.

"Go ahead." Delta spoke. "I'll watch your pups while you're gone."

"Oh Delts...you don't have to." She informs him.

"I know but they're good kids, plus I like them."

"Okay, thank you." After that she runs off to find Daryl.

Delta chuckles as he walks up to the pups who are busy "fighting", "Hey you three." He greets.

The three look up at him "Hey Uncle Delta." River greets while rubbing herself on his legs.

"Did mom tell you to watch us?" Koda asked him.

"Yeah." he replies. "She did." He sat down in front of them. "So, what are we doing?"

"Play." They said in unison.

"Mom said that we gotta learn how to fight, so that's what we're doing." Levi replies while nipping at River's ear.

"Understandable." Delta nods at that.

"Where's mom going?" Levi ask the older dog.

"Oh." He let out a sigh. "She just went out to go find Daryl."

"I like Daryl." Koda spoke.

Delta chuckles. "We all do. Now how about we play?"

All three of them say "Yay!" In unison.

Just when Delta goes to grab a well chewed toy bone, Snowy stops and stands in front of him. "I can take it from here." He tells him.

"Nah, that's okay. I can—"

"But I'm their father, I can play with them." Snowy growls.

Not wanting to stir any trouble Delta just said "Okay man, I don't want any trouble. Have a nice day." He walked away.

The shepherd snorts and grabs the toy and heads to his pups.

Nyla and Daryl head to the outdoor cooking where Carol was stirring something in the fire, people were scattered around, enjoying the morning air while having breakfast. As Daryl and his Husky were passing by people greeted him with smiles and waves. "Morning, Daryl," someone greets and Daryl replies casually, "What's up, Dr. S?"

More greeted Daryl as he walked up to Carol. "Someone's a celebrity." Nyla mutters with a smile. She sniffed the air, taking in the savory aroma of meat that Carol's cooking. "Smells good," Daryl said, smirking when he heard Nyla's stomach rumble.

Carol smiled at Daryl. "Just so you know, I liked you first," she teased. Tossing a meat to Nyla who catches and eats it.

"Stop." Daryl mutters, a smile forming on his face as he tosses a piece of meat in his mouth. " You know, Rick brought in a lot of them, too." he said while chewing.

"Ever heard of chew with your mouth closed?" Nyla mutters again but it comes off as a grumble.

"Not recently." Carol informs. " Give the stranger sanctuary, keeping people fed, you're gonna have to learn to live with the love." She gestures behind her. " I need you to see something." She turns to a young man around Carl's age, maybe a year or two older named Patrick. She handed him the utensils she was using. He looked up at Daryl with admiration. "Mr. Dixon, I just wanted to thank you for bringing that deer back yesterday. It was a real treat, sir. And I'd be honored to shake your hand."

Daryl looked slightly confused at the formality of the gesture, but after a moment, he stuck out his hand, after licking his fingers clean from his breakfast. The man, Patrick, shook his hand anyway, making Nyla groan in disgust.

The two (and Nyla) rounded the corner and they could see the walkers pressed against the fences in the distance. "The thing is, we had a pretty big buildup overnight. Dozens more towards tower three—It's getting as bad as last month. They don't spread out anymore." Carol explains.

"With more of us sitting here, we're drawing more of them out." Daryl went on. "You get enough of those damn fence-clingers, they start to herd up."

"Pushing against the fences again. It's manageable, but unless we get ahead of it, not for long," Carol said while glancing at Daryl with a smirk. "Sorry, Pookie."

Daryl scoffed and nudged her with his elbow, tossing the last meat to Nyla.

◤──•❉🏹❉•──◥

Only an hour later Nyla lay on the back of one of the vans and watched Sasha, Glenn, and Daryl pack up to go on the run—she watched one of the people named Zack who's the new boyfriend of Beth. She watches them kiss and interact with each other, " It's like a damn romance novel." mutters Daryl who walks past her.

After having everything packed up and ready, Oscar joins in (Against Sasha's wishes). Nyla follow behind Daryl's motorcycle but stopped when they saw Michonne who came back after searching for The Governor who joins in on the group for the run.

They left the prison quickly before the walkers could get them.

A/N: Here's a photo of Nyla's pups.
