A/N: We're in the prison era bitches!

—🏹—

Months have passed since the fall of The Green's farm, we've been moving and surviving for as long as I can remember—My pregnancy has been showing more and more every month, I was at the point of ready to burst like a balloon.

To tell ya'll the truth, I don't want to bring these pups into the world, I was afraid for anything to happen to them.

At this point; We're not living anymore.

We've stopped at a small house; It wasn't very big like the farmhouse but it's temporary. After the boys cleared the house for walkers, Daryl picked me up since my feet were sore and it was hard to walk on without feeling pain.  It was painful when I was five months old, but it was getting better but I can walk for a few minutes.

Aside from me; Lori is also due very soon, making a lot of us dreadful for when she goes into labor. Rick and Lori's relationship has been pretty rocky for awhile because of what Rick did to Shane back at the farm. Apparently Rick killed Shane out of self defense because Shane wanted to kill Rick and have his family as his own.
And now Lori is pissed at him, which is stupid. Bitch, he was going to kill your husband to have you all for himself. Some people aren't just meant to survive in this world.

But for Carl; He'll do anything to make sure me and my pups are comfortable and safe. Bless the little tough guy.

Glenn and Maggie are still a couple, they mostly protect each other and everyone else around them. Carol and Beth are still learning how to survive in the world. T-Dog is, well, T-Dog.

Hershel still checks on me daily to make sure nothing is wrong with my pups. Snowy did everything he could to protect me and our puppies.

We all are gathered in the same room now, as everyone begins to get comfortable. Carl comes and pulls out two cans of wet dog food, there's no way I'm eating those. He pulls out a can opener and starts to pry it open.

His father walks over and grabs the can and examines the label before angrily tossing it into the fireplace, making both me and Daryl flinch at the sudden noise.

Well, I did say I wasn't eating that.

"Psst." T-Dog nods outside the window where I assume there are walkers roaming about. Great.

Everyone quickly gathers their stuff and heads out the back door. I quickly ran out the house and inside the ruck where Carl was, I lay my head on his lap and closed my eyes. A nap wouldn't hurt.

I don't know how long I was asleep but I woke to the group settling on an abandoned prison roaming with walkers. Rick cuts the wire around the prison with pliers so we can head inside. Glenn scampers over to a walker that had gotten too close and stabs it through the stomach with a spear, pinning it to the fence while Maggie puts a hatchet through the walker's head.

"Watch the backside," Rick calls out, having finished cutting a hole through the fence big enough for us to fit through.

They start to close it back up with some plastic orange wire that they found in one of our many survival scavenger hunts. While Glenn was finishing that up, a walker came over and leaned against the fence though Glenn was practically done so the flesh monster didn't attain anything but a mouth full of steel.

I had to stay here and made every walker come here, but I was stubborn and followed Daryl into one of the cell block towers. We continue our jog around the fencing, my tongue is lolled out of my mouth and my paws beat against the gravel.

"So how do we shut the gate?" Hershel asks, looking at Rick to the open gate. His eyes squint under the sun while sweat gleams at his forehead.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me," Glenn volunteers. I was very proud of Glenn, he went from a timid pizza boy to a full blown survivor.

"No. It's a suicide run," Maggie quickly shuts down his proposition.

"I'm the fastest," Glenn breathes out, out of breath.

"No, you, Maggie, and Beth draw as many as you can over there," Rick points over to a spot a bit further away from the open gate, "Pop 'em through the fence."

"Daryl, go back to the other tower," Rick points over to the tower we're supposed to go to. Well, if Daryl's going, then I'm going. I won't let my pregnancy stop me.

"Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste. Hershel, you and Carl, take this tower." Rick orders her.

"Okay," Carl nods his head before running off to the tower. He's grown a lot.. he acts a lot more like an adult. Against his mother's demise.

"I'll run for the gate.." Rick says.

The group did what they're told, we jog towards the tower and head inside. I follow behind Daryl and Carol, when we reach the towers the two shoot at the walkers.Well, Carol almost shot at Rick by accident. It wasn't until sunset had they finally finished clearing the field—A biggest sense of relief and security we've ever felt since the farm.

I walked out to breath of relief, finally something to look forward to. I chuckled when I felt a kick in my stomach. "Yeah, little ones. We've found a sanctuary."

Night falls the group decided to set up a small little campsite in the middle of the field, crickets and the fire crackled. The slight breeze brought on by midnight made the overgrown and bloodied grass sway with it, the blades of grass dancing in the breeze.

I lay by Carl, since Daryl was keeping watch for any signs of walkers. Rick is still pacing around the perimeter, checking for any breaches.

Silence enveloped the group, that is until Glenn spoke up, "Mmm. Just like mom used to make." Glenn finishes munching on the piece of meat on the bone before throwing it across the fence.

Soon enough Daryl and Carol joined us, I soon fell asleep through the sound of Beth singing a song.

The sun broke through the trees and by the chirping of the birds fluttering through the air, as the group prepared to remove the courtyard from walkers. Lori, Beth, Carl, Carol, and Hershel are going to stay on one side of the courtyard where they'll try to lure and kill as many as they can by making as much noise as possible as well as using a spear. Meanwhile, Rick, Glenn, Maggie, T-dog, Daryl will be moving into the courtyard to try and clear it out.

Of course, I can't go since I'll be risking the baby. We draw the walkers by yelling and once they're close the humans drive sharp things into their heads. We did this until the first courtyard was empty.

The others headed deeper into the courtyard until we couldn't see them, "I can't see them." Lori spoke. "Can you see them?"

Nope.

"Back there." Carol replies. Oh.

Once the coast is clear, Rick leads us inside the cell block, I can't believe we're actually living inside a prison. What surprised me is that Daryl didn't comment on anything. "What do you think?" Rick asks.

"Home sweet home." Glenn sarcastically comments.

"For the time being." Rick replies.

"It's secure?" Lori asks her husband.

"This cell block is." Rick replies with a smile. Where's the divorce papers when you need them? "I found the keys on some guards. Daryl has a set too."

Daryl being a jail guard? I never thought I'd see the day.

"I ain't sleepin' in no cage. I'll take the perch wit' Nyla." I hear Daryl speak. There's the comment.

"Well I guess I'll be sleeping with Beth and Hershel." Snowy said with a chuckle.

"I guess so." I replied.

I walk up the stairs where I see Daryl lying on the mattress, I smirk when I see a pile of rags and towels. I pawed at the mess and curled up next to him. I closed my eyes with a smile when I felt his hand stroke my head. I sleep soundly with no fear in my mind.
