Cw: Blood, gore, character's death.
—🏹—
"Carl's gone." Lori announces. You've got to be friggin' kidding me. "
He... he was upstairs. I can't find him anymore." She tells us.
"Maybe he's hiding." Glenn replies.
"He's supposed to be upstairs. I'm not leaving without my boy." Well bitch if you keep a godman eye on your boy for a few fuckin' HOURS! He wouldn't be missing!
"We're gonna look again. We're gonna find him." Carol makes a decision within the panic. I follow with Snowy beside me, "Let's search upstairs." Snowy offered. I nod and follow upstairs towards his room.
I push open the door and can already tell he's left the house judging by the open window and Carl himself being nowhere in sight. I get on my hind legs and use my front paws to balance myself against the windowsill to try and search for Carl from here but all I see is the sea of the dead. "Careful, Nyla." Snowy says while beside me.
I took in a breath and jumped down onto the small roof, still tracking his scent. Luckily, the walkers haven't noticed me yet.Snowy follows beside me, I look over the edge of the roof and see it's a bit far from a drop but I'm already on the roof and may as well just jump. we slowly edge myself off of the roof and land with a thump.
"Are you okay? Anything hurt?" SNowy asks me.
I shook my head, "Nah just my paws but I'll live." I replied.
We ran towards the barn towards where I smelled Carl. It goes far into the barn where it was on fire, we dodge and weave walkers until I get there and the trail comes to a stop for a second, meaning he was here for a while. We try to find where he went from after this but soon realize that walkers have begun to surround us. "Shit! Get behind me!" Snowy commands.
"No! Snowy!" I decline.
"Just listen for once!" He shouts back.
"I won't let a damn walker kill a male that I love!" I didn't know what I just said but it just blurted out. Maybe it was fear.
I saw a few cars leave the farm, the screams of others could be heard—I then heard the rumbling of Daryl's bike. Oh thank the Lord of this knucklehead to be our savior. I let out a loud bark to alert Daryl, I heard him call out "Nyla!" I let out a bark in response.
Just before the walker closed in for the kill; I heard a gunshot go off as four walkers fell to the ground. "Come on, Snowy!" I yell out. He nods as I run with all my might with Snowy behind me, we head into the forest where I see a herd follows behind Carol while she clambers onto the back of Daryl's bike. I could hear my name being called out one last time before I saw him drive off, away from the herd that followed Carol and him and away from me.
"Nyla, we must continue." Snowy tells me.
"Yeah." I follow him deeper into the forest.

"We-we have to go back. What about Hershel, Maggie, Beth? Are they alive?" Snowy frantically asks.
"I'm sure they're okay." I assure him.
"Are you really sure?" He asked me.
"Well, no really but—"
"Then there you go." He cuts me off. He walked towards the river and sat down in front of it. I know how he feels— unsure if his family was alive or not. I sat on the other side of the river and spoke, "Snowy, I-i'm sure they're okay. They're with the others, I just know it. You just gotta hang in there, look, we're alive and we've made it."
Snowy looked up at me with a nod, he stood up with a sniffle. "Is it true what you said back there? That you love me?"
Shit. I forgot about that.
"I-i supposed I did. You mean the world to me, along with Daryl. I can't wait to have these pups with you." I confessed, all those words were true. I do love him.
Snowy smiles, "I love you too." He licks my nose.
Both of our ears perked up at the sounds of snarling from the walkers, "Let's go!" Snowy exclaims. I nod as we run away from the infected, my body begs for rest but I continue to push it, until we find shelter, until we find the other, until we find Daryl.

Third person pov.
The remaining survivors manage to find each other back at the highway where it all started, all of them either covered in blood or tears. "Where's the rest of us?" Daryl asks, scanning through the members of the group. Rick, Lori, Carl, T-Dog, Glenn, Maggie, Hershel, Beth were the ones who were here.
Meanwhile; Shane, Patricia, Andrea,Nyla and Snowy were the ones who were nowhere in sight.
"We're the only ones who have made it so far." Rick says.
"Did any of you see, Nyla?" Daryl asks, just trying to know if his girl for the past year and a half is alive. Everyone in the group shook their heads.
"What about Snowy?" Beth asks, wondering about her faithful companion for almost four years.
"Maybe he's with Nyla?" Glenn says.
Lori stands up from her uniting hug with Carl, "Shane?" Rick simply shakes his head and directs his eyes to the ground.
"Andrea?" Glenn asks.
"She saved me, then I lost her." Carol says from beside Daryl.
"We saw her go down" T-Dog says from where he lazily hangs from the car door with his pistol in hand.
"Patricia?" Hershel asks, while Beth clings to his side and Maggie stands on the other side of Beth trying to comfort her.
"They got her too, took her right in front of me. I was— I was holdin' onto her daddy. She just— " Beth sobs, unable to continue her story of Patricia's death. "What about Jimmy? Did you see Jimmy?"
"He was in the R.V., it got overrun." Rick says, causing Beth to break down into even more tears. The uneasy atmosphere shifted between the group.
"You definitely saw Andrea?" Carol asks.
"There were walkers everywhere" Lori says in response.
"Did you see her?" Carol asks again.
Daryl let out a sigh, gripping the handle of his bike. "'m gonna go back." He mutters.
"No," Rick answers flatly.
"We can't just leave her or the dogs behind" The archer pressed on, trying to convince him it's worth going back.
"We don't even know if they're there." Lori says.
"They aren't there. They aren't. They're somewhere else or they're dead. There's no way to find them." Rick is still not making eye contact with anyone.
"So we're not even gonna look for her?" Glenn asks in shock.
""We gotta keep moving. There have been walkers crawling all over here." Rick replies.
"I say head east." T-Dog says.
"Stay off the main roads. The bigger the road, the more walkers," Daryl's eyes train on a lone walker heading towards them, he grabs his crossbow. "more assholes like this one. I got him." He aimed his cross and shot it through the walker's eyeball. Killing it instantly.
The group decides to head on back roads to avoid hordes of walkers.

Nyla's pov.
We walked for what felt like hours, the sun's already setted as the moon illuminates the darkness. It was so cold that not even my own fur could keep me warm, I was hungry, very hungry and thirsty and in need of rest.
"Snowy." I start but he cuts me off with a shush.
We've both heard the sound of people speaking, with our teeth bared we drew closer to whoever is here.
But when we draw closer we see that it was the others, I knew that they were alive and well. I don't see Patrica, Shane or Beth's boyfriend whom I forgot his name. I think it was James.
"Snowy!" Beth beamed at the sight of him. The dog let out a whine of joy and he jumped into Beth's open arms.
My eyes met the piercing blue ones, "Nyla." He mutters. He dropped his crossbow and strutted towards me, I canter towards him and into his arms. I licked away the grime and blood from his face, "'m girl. 'M here now. 'M here." He says while stroking my fur.
I'm here. And I'm safe..for now at least.
End of season 2.
