CHAPTER 1/PROLOGUE - "Runaway"

The challenge had just ended, and the bright lights had just won, thanks to Microphone's loud volume. While everyone had been relieved after the whole thing with a few injuries included, Yin confronted Yang about his behavior during the challenge.
"I can't believe you threw me at Knife, you nearly killed us both!" Yin scolded, followed by a annoyed sigh from Yang. "Well, it doesn't matter what you think, I controll my feelings now, and one by one, YOU ALL WILL DIE!" He threatened, spooking Yin a bit. Seeing the argument from afar, Marshmallow approached the scene. "Wow, Yang, take it easy. I think someone needs to go to the Calm-Down Corner!" She spoke, triggering Yang immediately. He snapped his attention to Marshmallow, having a threatening gaze. "SHUT UP!" Yang's tone is full of rage as he uppercuts Marshmallow, launching her upward. Yin's eyes widened as he realized Yang was too unhinged to simply calm down and stop his chaos. He stared at Yang as he thought about asking Test Tube for help. "No, Yang will never calm down.. I now realize why we were put together... So we could balance each other out," He mumbled. "There's only one way to fix this."
Yin stepped up towards Test Tube, grabbing her attention immediately. "Test Tube, you have to put us back together!" Yin begged. "But Yin, I thought you couldn't stand Yang!" Test Tube replied, curious as to why he's asking to put back together now. "I can't, though we have to be together. Somebody has to control his anger!" Yin replied. "Okay, luckily I just happen to have made a antidote!" Test Tube spoke with a smile, pulling out two tubes of blue liquid, both secured with a cork. She hands Yin and Yang the antidote. Yin holds the antidote gently, while Yang holds the tube of the antidote with a tight grip. "Drink up!" As Test Tube announced this, Yang's lips curled up to a mischievous smile. "Ha! No way, you losers!" Yang replied in a rebellious tone in his voice as he lifted up the tube and was about to crash it into the floor when another arm seemed to catch his own.
It was Knife, looking at Yang with a impatient look. "Gimme that!" He spoke, having enough force to steal Yang's antidote away from his grasp. Yang gasped a little before grumbling and crossing his arms like a upset child. Though his upset rumbling didn't last long as he felt Knife lift him up. Surprised, Yang started struggling.
"It's PAYBACK time!" Knife announced triumphantly as he began opening the tube of antidote and rushing it towards Yang. Yang's eyes widened in slight fear as he realized what was about to happen, and he didn't want that to happen. Swiftly, Yang started swinging his arms at Knife, quickly hitting the tube strong enough to slap it out of his hands. Knife's eyes slightly widened as he saw the antidote fly out of his hands and leak onto the grass, catching everyone's attention. Everyone was just as shocked as Knife, including Yin. "..What.." Knife whispered in surprise as he took a glance at Yang, who, surprisingly is just as shocked. Suddenly, Yang's attention turned to Knife with a gaze of triumph, as he suddenly swinged and kicked at Knife's face. Knife gasped as he got kicked. Upon impact, he seemed to have gotten a black eye from how hard Yang kicked him, a purple shade covering his eye. Yang fell onto the ground, immediately relieved that he went out of Knife's grasp. He got up, chuckling as he heard Yin try to scold him again. "YANG! What are you doing?!" Yin spoke, slightly irritated at Yang's behavior for the whole episode! Yang glances at Yin with a wide smile, his eyes twitching with menace. As Yin was making eye contact with Yang, he notices something off. His eyes were a maroon color. He had noticed that before, but never bothered to question it. Yin was too stunned to speak now, his mind full of questions of how Yang got the eyes. Seeing this as a opportunity to run, Yang immediately turned and started dashing off, catching Yin off-guard. Yin immediately snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Yang running. "YANG!! WAIT!!" Yin tried to follow him, running for a few moments after him, but he slowed down as Yang was not responding. In disappointment, he sighed, hearing Yang's footsteps quickly fade away.
Yin stood there, watching Yang run away from the showgrounds into the forest when Test Tube stepped up behind him. "...Do you think he's going to come back?" Yin asked, a bit of regret is in his voice. Test Tube glared at the ground before she sighed. "..I doubt it, Yin." She replied, grabbing Yin's antidote and keeping it in her arms. "I'll just keep this safe until he does come back." She turned around and glanced towards Yin. "..You can come with me if you want." She mumbled, catching Yin's attention. "Sure.." Yin replied as he followed behind Test Tube, feeling incredibly regretful for letting Yang get away like this.
As Test Tube and Yin walk to the other contestants, Yin tries to talk to Test Tube about Yang's eyes in that moment. "..Hey Test Tube, did.. you ever see Yang's eyes when he looked at me?" Yin asked. "Yeah? What about it?" Test Tube replied, turning towards Yin in curiosity. "Well.. I noticed Yang's eye color had turned red. Of course I noticed that before, but.. I didn't bother to think about it until now." Test Tube's eyes widened as she thought about what Yin said. The two walked in silence for a moment before Test Tube broke the silence. "..Hmm... I'll think about it. I don't particularly have a explanation for it right now.." She replied.* "..If he comes back then I'll find a answer to that. You'll just have to wait for now, Yin." Test Tube replied, smiling a little at Yin.
"..Thanks, Test Tube." Yin thanked Test Tube, followed by a nod from Test Tube. Yin feels content now, knowing all of his problems will be fixed soon, all because of a simple mistake.

Yang rushed into the perilous forest, stopping by a tree near the entrance. He breathed as he turned back and noticed Yin and Test Tube in the distance. He scoffed, thinking he got away. "Pff... Stupid Yin.. He can't get me back and trapped now.." He chuckled, walking into the forest with a satisfied smirk on his face. "Who should I go for first..?" He asked himself, planning on who to kill first for his attack. As he thought for a few minutes, a sudden noise of a bush rustling disturbed his thoughts, immediately grabbing his attention. He stared at the bush for a moment, before he tries to defend himself. "Who's there?! If you don't come out, I'll.. I'll kill you!" Yang threatened, as he slowly approached the bush and towered over it. He lifted his fist over it, before he heard a voice. "Wait! I'll reveal myself, just so you don't hurt me." A voice speaks out from the bush, slightly surprising Yang. He backs up, crossing his arms. "Okay." He sighed, watching as a shadow jumps out of the bushes, and reveals.. none other than Taco. Yang looks at Taco in curiosity and a little bit of aggression. "Who are you?!" He asked, as he tried to pull off a defensive act. "Calm down, I-" Taco tried to speak, but Yang quickly cut her off. "WHY ARE YOU HERE?! I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO START WITH A USELESS-" Yang tried threatening Taco, however she quickly covers his mouth. "SHH! SHUT IT!" Taco immediately shuts Yang off, and he stops talking afterwards. "I am here to help you."
"Why would you want to help me? I plan on doing this myself, I don't want to work with anybody, loser!" Yang replied, turning away from Taco. She sighed and tried to convince Yang. "Listen, you can't really kill anybody by yourself, unless you have a good plan?" Taco suggested, leaving Yang without a response. A few moments of silence goes by, without a word from Yang. "...Well, do you?" Taco still waited for a response, and nothing. "...I-" Yang started, but was immediately cut off. "..That's what I thought. If you let me help you plan this out thoroughly, you can take over Inanimate Insanity and do what you must." Taco replied. This left Yang thinking about the future if he did, considering doing so.
"So...?" Taco spoke, wanting Yang's opinion on her suggestion.. "...Uhm.. I'm.. not sure... I don't know if I can trust you." Yang replied. "Oh? You'd definitely want to trust me," Taco replied, a serious tone in her voice. "I can even get you half of the million prize?" Taco suggested again, this time getting Yang's attention. "... I'm listening.."
"Good, you'll need me if you want to have 'everyone die' in front of you." Taco air quoted, smiling mischievously. "We can meet up later. Oh, and also... What's your name?" Taco asked, handing out her hand for a handshake. Yang hesitated for a minute, before he shook her hand. "..Yang." Yang replied, bluntly introducing himself.
"Yang, got it." Taco sighed. "For now, I suggest you'd hide somewhere where you'd keep yourself safe, who knows what roams out there in the night-" She replied, until Yang cut her off. "I know, I know, but what if I encounter stupid Yin again? I bet he's gonna try to get me into merging back with him again.. ugh.." He growled. "I hate him."
"If it makes you any better.. I'd suggest you'd try not to mention him or make eye contact with him. If he does see you, just try to play dumb, ok?" Taco suggested. "Seems easy enough for me." Yang smiled, having a mischievous idea in his head already. "Alrighty." Taco smiled, feeling satisfied that she and Yang had thought of a plan successfully. "See? We already thought up of something! I'll meet up with you a few days later, alright, Yang?" Taco glanced back at Yang as she turned around. "..Alright." Yang waved his hand goodbye at Taco for a little bit before he sighed. Taco had given him some good advice... Maybe this will work.
Just as Taco left, he turned around and exited the perilous forest, finding a place of shelter for now. Yang continues searching, resting his eyes onto the Gemory Cave, his eyes widened at the sight of the dimly lit but pretty-looking cave. It seemed stable enough to resist storms.. "...This should do." He mumbled, as he slowly started to enter the cave. It was enough to at least get the others, especially Yin off of his nerves. It was just him.
