【 THIRD PERSON's POINT OF VIEW 】
"So, do you mind explaining what you were doing with your arm around Toni?"
Adam sighed and looked back at his roommate aka his long time friend since high school, Bobby Fish.
They're back at their dorm. New dorm to be exact since they decided to attend the same university. Shared rent and bills just like the old times.
"Really, Bobby? You think now is a good time to talk about this?" He grumbled.
Bobby chuckled and took off his crown and let go of his trident, "You said we would talk later then, I figured this was later."
Adam shook his head and dropped on one knee, starting to undo the shoelaces of one of his shoes.
"You're annoying, you know?" He murmured as he took off his shoe.
"I wouldn't have to be if you're telling us about it," Bobby said cheekily. Bobby's actually shirtless since his costume is Neptune. Neptune as in Ariel's dad from Disney. He shook his head while staring at his friend.
Adam then throw up the shoe and catching it easily in one hand. He pulled back one arm and stretched out the other, aiming at his roommate snoring contently at the sofa of their dorm. Adam tensed his muscles and then released, executing a rather decent throw. The shoe was meant to hit the head but hit the upper arm instead, which only managed to get a grumble from the boy.
Bobby went to the kitchen area as he poured water on his glass, "Where's Kyle?"
Adam shrugged at him, "Probably with his 'beloved smart--ass Taynara' that witch really used black magic to hallucinate our friend!" Adam angrily uttered and Bobby laughed at his joke.
Few minutes of silence until Bobby spoke once again.
"Well?" he continued to push.
Adam sighed. "Really, it was nothing. One of those gross random douche was bothering her and I just pretended to be her boyfriend so they would back off and let her hang out with her friend in peace." He dropped back down to untie the laces of his other shoe. He rested his head between his legs, pretending that his face isn't burning up.
"Just?" Bobby sputtered. "There's nothing just about that, Adam Cole. When we enrolled at college, you avoided the girls who tried to pursue you. I know you're really kind and you knew Toni but why help her to that extent?"
He didn't answer his roommate, fumbling with his laces as he stayed quiet.
"Didn't think of you of like the type that would step out and do that," Bobby said to himself more than to anyone else.
"Remembered that one time, I borrowed your laptop and saw your twitter tab open, you defended women like your life depends on it," Bobby pointed out making Adam groaned as he stood up with his other shoe in his hand.
Adam looked up at Bobby with wide eyes, now not able to pretend that his face was bright red. "Remind me to never let you borrow my laptop ever again."
"I meant that I didn't think you would do that since you're pretty much allergic to being even remotely affectionate."
He pointed his shoe at his roommate. "I'm the most affectionate at the four of us, Bobby."
"Huh? That title would be on Roddy's." Bobby retorted back.
"He can hog that title whatever he wants," Again, Adam aimed at his other roommate's head. "But I believe, I'm the most affectionate."
He lobbed his shoe, it was another powerful throw. This time he managed to hit him just in the face, the sole of his shoe probably leaving an imprint on the boy's cheek.
His roommate slowly woke up with a dopey smile on his face, eyes barely open.
"I want to be a cowboy baby!" Roddy sang.
"You already are one Roddy!" Bobby yelled back.
"Now get out of the sofa and go back to your room will y-," Before Adam could even finish his sentence Roddy dozed off again after adjusting himself wrongly thus slipping from the sofa. The two looked at each other with wide eyes before sprinting towards him.
Roddy landed right on their heads, causing all of them to groaned.
"The hell Roddy! Stop drinking if you can't handle shit!" Bobby complained as Adam rub his head.
Adam tried to push Roddy off him instead but the boy was as heavy as he slept and wouldn't budge not even with his greatest efforts put in. He fell limp, panting and turned his head to Bobby. He was already looking back at him, having a strange dreamy look on his face.
"She's special to you, huh?"
"Shut up!"
He felt one of his heartstrings being plucked at as deep-buried memories appeared at the surface of his mind. Adam thought of a young Toni, the one who he met at the hospital before. Who would've thought she was that person he used to hang out with. The same person who broke his phone screen and bought him a new one. Treated him a dinner and talked about her the person she likes whose now her ex-boyfriend. They're friends who hangs out together, the way she approached him never changed despite the fact of what happened to him and her best friend. He was so different and so was she. He had never thought they would become-
After Adam and Rhea's break up news spread, girls kept bugging him as he rejected them all. He don't think he's ready for romance again.
"She's just a friend," Adam croaked.
Multiple strings were getting plucked. As if they were strings of a guitar, being strummed to play some unstructured song.
Bobby considered to end it there for a second, Adam could tell by the way his eyes shut. But then he looked up again with this childlike curiosity which never seemed to disappear from the guy.
"Would you do it again?" he asked.
Adam exhaled from his nose. "Be stuck under this idiot with you and has a 7 in the morning class tomorrow under Professor Heyman! Hell no."
"Psssh! You mean Kane?"
"You're so whipped over Tegan Nox, Bobby."
"Why did you suddenly insert her?"
"Sir Kane is Tegan's favorite teacher, heck even I know that,"
"Is there something wrong with having a favorite professor? You even have one."
"I used to have one."
"Teacher Eva Marie.." The both of them said in unison.
"No, not this. Truly, how hilarious this is, I wouldn't want to do this again even if they paid me for it, no I mean the boyfriend thing. Would you pretend to be her boyfriend again?" Bobby pry.
"No."
Bobby skeptically raised an eyebrow at him. Adam held his breath for a moment. "Alright, I don't know? Yes? Maybe?" he rolled his eyes. "Only if she asked me to be."
Seemingly satisfied Bobby turned back and looked upwards at the sky.
"Couldn't you just have flown up there and got him?" Bobby pointed at Adam's chest, the top buttons of his dress shirt open, revealing his undershirt with a superman logo.
"Right, how did I not think of that? I should've just pulled a cape and some superpowers out of my fucking ass."
